THE FIRST RECIPE OF 2024!!! Earlier this week, I made this Kugel. It is a noodle dish, kind of a noodle pudding, which is of Jewish origins. Even though it is lightly sweet, I understand it's served as a side dish with savory dinners, which is something different and interesting. Made with egg noodles, cottage cheese, sour cream and a whole lotta eggs, it gets to be custard-y with the noodles soaking up all the tastieness. My friend @sophiehelenxo was the taste tester since she's had a lifetime of experience with this dish at family gatherings and I'm super proud to share that she says I nailed it!! For me, I'd treat it more as a dessert and might make it a bit sweeter, then perhaps douse it with caramel sauce and whipped cream to serve. Here is mine: 1/4 cup sugar 1 cup cottage cheese 1 cup sour cream 2 ounces light cream cheese 1/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 large eggs 16 ounce package egg noodles, cooked and rinsed to cool Topping: 3/4 cup crushed cornflakes, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 teaspoons melted butter and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon Combine the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl. Add cooled egg noodles and toss gently to combine. Spoon mixture into an 11x7 casserole coated with cooking spray. Combine all topping ingredients and sprinkle over noodle mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until set and lightly golden brown. Trošičku složitější recept, ale ta práce stojí za to. A můžete do něj spotřebovat zbytky čokolády od Vánoc. Mňam. Nudlový nákyp s čokoládou 250g domácích širších nudlí (dlouhých asi 5 cm) – viz základní recepty 1/2l obyčejné smetany (ne smetany ke šlehání - šlehačka) 150g čokolády 1 lžíce másla (asi 20g) 3 vejce 2 – 3 lžíce cukru Máslo na vymazání formy a trochu hrubé mouky na vysypání Připravíme si domácí nudle dle sekce - viz základní recepty. Nebo si koupíme nějaké čerstvé těstoviny. Ty to nudle uvaříme ve smetaně na hustou kaši. Trvá to cca 10 min. Odstavíme. Přidáme nasekanou čokoládu a máslo. Zamícháme a necháme vychladnout. Z bílků ušleháme sníh s cukrem a zašleháme žloutky do krásně hedvábné pěny. Nudlovo-čokoládovou kaši opatrně promícháme s touto pěnou. Vše nalijeme do máslem vymazané, moukou vysypané formy. Pečeme v troubě při 180°C asi 45 min.
