A malawach bar is a great idea for a family meal. Using your family’s favorite components, everyone will feel included in meal prep. I used @sonnyandjoes tahini dip as my base and it was out of this world. Recipe below ⬇️ Malawach Bar Ingredients: 6 frozen malawach 6 hard boiled eggs, sliced, Israeli pickles Tahini/ Hummus 1 eggplant, cubed Oil, for frying Israeli Salad: 2 medium cucumbers, diced 1 plum tomato, diced ½ purple onion, finely diced Handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped ½ tbsp olive oil 1 tsp lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste Directions: 1. Prepare your eggplant. Generously salt eggplant cubes and let sit 10-15 minutes. (This takes away bitterness) Rinse well and pat dry. 2. Heat oil in a large saucepan. Once heated, add dry eggplant cubes. Fry until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towel lined pan. 3. In a small frying pan, over medium heat, heat malawach until golden and crispy, on both sides. 4. Combine all salad ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside. 5. Set up your bar. Place each ingredient in individual plates. I just love Shabbat. My most favorite time of the week. I came home last night from my first retreat I've ever hosted. An incredible three days focused on resting, growing, and getting to know ourselves deeper. Not everything went as planned, but it unfolded exactly as it was meant to.
