What happens when you give a Pilates instructor an assignment to make art (and to not be perfectionist about it)? This, apparently 🌀🩻🌱 I used to draw and paint a lot when I was young, but I haven't done any for years now. And doing this assignment, once I got past the initial "stickiness" of self doubt, I enjoyed myself a great deal ☺️ it felt sooo good to get into a flow state and just let loose with colours and ideas. And as you can see, the pelvis, hips and spine are always on my mind! ❌ Le Pilates ce n'est pas... ❌ . Mes posts ont pour vocation de vous partager ma passion pour le Pilates et mon expertise en vous inculquant ce qu'il y a à connaître sur cette pratique 😊 . Aujourd'hui, je vous expose un condensé des fausses idées reçues sur le Pilates 🙅♀️ . Le Pilates ce n'est donc pas : ▫️Un sport ➡️ c'est une MÉTHODE (très inspirée de la danse classique) avec des principes, des référentiels, des codes bien spécifiques qui a été créée à la base pour la rééducation des sportifs et avant tout des danseurs. Au delà de la pratique physique, le Pilates tout comme la danse se concentre également sur L'EXÉCUTION CONTRÔLÉE des mouvements en recherchant L'HARMONIE et L'ESTHÉTIQUE du mouvement (beauté et perfection). La qualité est plus importante que la quantité ! ▫️Une méthode pour travailler le cardio ➡️ les mouvements et la respiration sont LENTS et LONGS, on est censés ressortir d'un cours de Pilates avec une sensation de bien-être SANS se sentir fatigué ▫️Une méthode pour perdre du poids ➡️ on renforce les muscles profonds, on tonifie et donc on s'affine MAIS on ne perd pas de poids avec le Pilates ▫️Comme du yoga ➡️ on respecte l'alignement du corps, on travaille le renforcement musculaire, on cherche le contrôle et la maîtrise de son corps en synergie avec la respiration thoracique et l'engagement du centre donc cela n'est en RIEN du yoga (cfr mon poste Pilates vs yoga pour plus d'info) ▫️De la gym douce sans effort ➡️ on effectue des mouvements tout en tenant le centre engagé avec la respiration thoracique (vient tester mes cours si tu crois que c'est facile 😏😂). Un adage en Pilates dit : "si ce n'est pas difficile, ce n'est définitivement pas du Pilates" et c'est tout à fait vrai 💪 ▫️Un truc pour les femmes ➡️ dois-je rappeler que la méthode Pilates porte le nom de son créateur, un HOMME, Joseph Pilates ? Question de rhétorique... Le Pilates est pour tous : hommes et femmes ! . En ce qui me concerne plus qu'une méthode, j'élève le Pilates au rang d'ART, au même titre que la danse n'est pas un sport mais une discipline artistique à laquelle on voue sa vie 🤍 . "Internal body part 1" Acrylic, pastel and charcoal on canvas 24" x 24" Whilst I love the luscious richness of oil paint I hate the drying times as I work predominantly in layers and it's easy to lose the momentum of a painting. Hence the return to acrylic here. I have chronic back problems but have started a home-based Pilates course which really focuses you on what goes on inside your body in terms of organs, muscles, tendons, etc. So this is a bit like the inside coming out. The body parts here are not intended to be anatomically correct in any way or even to refer to specific parts. The paintings are just feelings about our internal bodily selves without which our brains would just sit in jars of formaldehyde doomed to "think" all day long with no hope of any action. 2023 to nie był dla mnie rok wielkich ambicji. Jako geriatryczna mama malutkiego dziecka, nie miałam wygórowanych planów jeśli chodzi o rozwój zawodowy, fizyczny czy pasje... Cel główny - przeżyć, jak na memach ;) Jak na brak oczekiwań, poszło nieźle, bo... udało mi się osiągnąć więcej niż oczekiwałam :D :D :D 2024 to już inna sprawa. Sięgam po więcej i wracam do siebie. Ambitnych celów jest co najmniej kilka a jednym z nich jest zaopiekowanie się swoją artystyczną duszą. No i powstał plan. Jaki? K...wa sprytny! A gdyby tak połączyć pasję do rysunku z pasją do Pilatesu, to co z tego wyniknie? Przed państwem rysunek 1 (być może jeszcze nie skończony ale już nie mogłam się doczekać, bo się jaram) z "Pilates Mat Series": "Elbow to Knee".
