S. Book 7 of 2022 📖 🌊💨 “Sometimes you get so good at lying, you even lie to yourself” Recommend by my Dad. My first @kyle.perry.author read and woah was it a lot! Im reluctant to say this but I struggled with this one, but I’m certain it was because life has been so hectic the past month, I feel like I went days without reading as I was far too busy for it. Because of that I struggled to find where I was in the book & the characters. In saying this though, I do recognise that this book was good. It was deep with description, plot development and character building. It was a bit eerie at times and the description of the treacherous seas, the black wind and the deep dark water did scare me, which was the intention. It’s set within Tasmania and seeing as we are off to Tassie today it feels pretty cool to have planned that. The book is set within a small Tasmanian town, deep with an illegal drug syndicate. It follows the journey of a boy who walks from the ocean 7 years after going missing. It makes you question if the dreaded black beard pirate is back & the Dempsey family’s fight for the truth. It’s very twisty, gripping and had my constantly trying to guess the ending! Which I did not predict! For today's #mapmonday, we're sharing this 1941 Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) map that provides locations of so-called "shack dwellings" throughout the city. Color coding denotes the number of shacks counted in each area of the city, with the greatest concentration in the City's south-central Hooverville encampment. The term "shacktown" was used as early as 1904 to describe homeless encampments within the city. By one count, the population living in shacks numbered as high as 3,500 in 1913, with many located along the waterfront west of Pioneer Square. By 1938, the number of shacks had grown to 22,204, largely as a result of the Great Depression.
