Christian Charism Ministry The Christian faith emphasizes the ongoing presence and activity of the Holy Spirit in the life of the faithful. Charism ministry focuses on the manifestation of these spiritual gifts within the church community. According to the Catechism, charisms are "graces of the Holy Spirit which directly or indirectly benefit the Church, ordered as they are to her building up, to the good of men, and to the needs of the world" (CCC 799). These charisms are given to individuals for the purpose of serving others and contributing to the mission of the Church. The Catechism emphasizes that charisms are not given for personal gain or self-promotion, but rather for the common good and the edification of the Church. Meet Jorge. Jorge is a 75 year old rice farmer from just outside Maliana, Bobonaro. When he heard about the filters, he wasn’t sure about this new technology or how it could benefit him, as he always drank untreated water.
