Finished another manhwa/webtoon! I've been wanting to read this for a really long time but I was a bit turned off by Aria in the first few chapters. But she is the villainess so she has to be that way. I actually read the Epilogues first before reading the main story lol. I wish a lot of manhwas has similar epilogues to this one where there is a whole mini story that features their children.

I think I'm currently in a reading slump but only with novels. I've been rrading this book for a while now. I'm almost done with it but it's taking longer than usual which I am not complaining about. I am reading a lot of webtoon at the moment.

It’s strange how everything in your life can be falling into place yet somehow, your brain can still feel like something is off. Maybe it’s because I’ve spent my entire life preparing for the worst possible scenarios, so my mind is like “hmmm… this seems too good to be true. Something bad could happen at any moment so keep your guard up!” 🥲 It’s hard for me to accept that I deserve good things. That I deserve to have a slow moving, quiet, stress free life. It’s hard to retrain your brains reactions from a life of trauma to a life of peace. That every anxious feeling doesn’t always mean the worst thing is going to happen. It gets exhausting to have my guard up all the time! The positive is that I am better than last year, and the year before that. And next year I’ll be better than I am now because I’m consciously making an effort. It’s not about how fast you finish the race, it’s that you never gave up and you finish it at all. Im at the point in my life where the good outweighs the bad. And soon enough my brain won’t be preparing for the worst because it’s learned over time that good things do come my way and I don’t need to go into protection mode. Taking notes on burnout from various sources in one of my notebooks. I plan on using the new notebook I received the other day for more permanent self-care prompts and notes, as well as advanced planning for the more difficult times- and hopefully enough of a self-care daily routine to help keep those really difficult times much more manageable, I hope. I am better at it than I use to be. Age does that, I think. More experience, more understanding of yourself. Still, I have things to work through and keep conscientious about, especially in those highly stressful, unavoidable, problematic times in life. 📒 Are you someone who tests the paper before diving into a new notebook? Do you have a testing ritual for your notebooks? ✨I firmly believe in maximizing the compatibility of the pen, ink and paper trifecta. To minimize surprises, I always test the paper with the items I use regularly, including stamps and water-based markers. 📒In the pictures, you can see the pen and ink test I conducted on the @maruman.usa Septcouleur A5 Notebook. Here’s my thought process: ▪️ Gel pens and markers glide effortlessly on this paper, making it an interesting option for study or book reading notes! ▪️ Mixed results with fountain pens. From further testing, I anticipate it would perform well with well-behaved inks and medium or smaller nibs. While I won’t be using it as my ink journal, it’s suitable for taking notes with certain fountain pens and inks. ▪️ Each ink pad for stamps needs to be tested beforehand. I was surprised that Ranger Peat Moss didn’t bleed, which means I can use my stamps! Incorporating book-themed stamps into my book reading notes could be quite interesting. ▪️ Water-based markers didn’t bleed. Further testing with coloring illustrations could prove fruitful. And if one can neither think nor feel, where is one?” Before you disappoint yourself, I have to tell you there is no story as such in this novel but it’s purely about distinct and complex inner lives of the family & few friends who come together one summer to stay in their beach house. It’s about how we all sometimes or most, think the same things and don’t need to speak when we are together. How physically close we are but seemingly distant in our inner lives. The book is about who we really are, with all our vulnerabilities, confusions and bodily sensations and is filled page after page with inner monologues of the characters and their collective consciousness. There have been moments in the book I’ve been lost and wondered whose thoughts I’m voyeuristically reading through. “For the whole world seemed to have dissolved in this early morning hour into a pool of thought, a deep basin of reality.” In the first few pages, I asked myself “Why does she have to describe the people in such detail about their personality traits or inner lives?” Only to now find the answer like the old lady in Fleabag said, “Because people are all we’ve got.” And so, Woolf writes about: the relief of a mother finally finding time alone after sending all her kids to bed and feeling like herself again. How solitude is rare for a mother. About being a mother and a physically present yet emotionally absent father and their children wise beyond their years because of their trauma and emotional neglect. The unsettling fact that we can be so close yet so distant to our spouse. It’s beautiful and painful all at once, a paradox we all live with. Woolf describes the previously indescribable feeling so well in her writing like no psychologist can. Diagnoses are for identifying the condition. Not an eventful week - I was sick, and somehow still am… it was 100% the flu. I almost forgot to showcase this last ink that I own from @inksbyvinta for the #InksplorersTour This is call Parol and it is a green ink with gold and red shimmer. It is the perfect representation of the Christmas season here in the Philippines. As a lot of people know, the Philippines has the longesg Christmas season. It is from September, which is what we call the start of the Ber months, until December, sometimes even past New Year's. This is because we arw a predominantly Roman Catholic population and Christmas is a verh big deal to us. This ink and the 2 other in the collection are only available during the Christmas season mentioned in the previous paragraph. I think this is my favorite out of all the Vinta inks thag I own. One because it's green and is my favorite color and two is because I love how the colors work together.
