Pooley was named 2023 Best Australian Winery in the Halliday Wine Companion, and winemaker Anna Pooley has received numerous awards and accolades for her beautifully crafted wines ⭐️ . Fun afternoon at 67 Pall Mall. 2019 Pierre-Yves-Colin-Morey was absolutely delightful, fresh citrus and nectarine notes on the nose for me and a crisp lovely mouthfeel. @pierreyvescolinmorey 2010 Château Rauzzan: First time trying and won’t be the last, ripe black fruits and solid tannins and acidity with a good lengthly aftertaste. @chateau_rauzangassies 2009 Le Petit Lion de Las Cases: Big big fan of their first wine, but the first time trying their second and was a great solid aged wine. Black fruits with a touch of oakyness. Château Lynch Bages 2015 Had this beautiful bottle from Paulliac late last year at Novikov London. The 2015 started blooming after 40 minutes to an hour. Strong notes of cassis, cherries and a touch of smokiness. On the palate were ripe black fruits, off the bat strong structured tannins, but gradually softened out with a nice balance structure. Great mouthful long finishing. Also had the opportunity to try the 2009 vintage and was very impressed, would be excited to revisit this vintage in the years to come! Savigny-lès-Beaune, Benjamin Leroux 2017 Very impressed with their village Saivgny Les Beaune. Color was somewhat deep and bright red. On the nose were ripe red and cherry fruits which after 3 hours strong strawberry notes were intensified. Wine was medium bodied and dry as well having a pleasant long and clean finish. Château Lafite Rothschild 1997 Color was a dense purple, with much complexity on the nose. Subtle notes of tobacco and berries. On the palate was a medium bodied wine with silky smooth tannins and a little dryness towards the finishing. Great paring and went really well with the Australian tomahawk and Chinese suckling pig. Given the usual somewhat dismissive impression on the 1997 vintage in Bordeaux, this wine clearly was not a clear reflection of 1997. Have I had better vintages? yes. but would I try this again? Most definitely! White Dragon Tonic Water For en tid tilbake ble White Dragon Gin lansert. Den dukket først opp på en rekke barer i Liverpool, så kom den på noen utsteder på Vestlandet før den var å finne på enkelte Taxfree. Det tok en stund med endelig var den på plass på Vinmonopolet. Så gikk det litt tid og så kunne man finne White Dragon Tonic Water i butikkhyllene. Og det skal sies at det er ekstra kult å servere disse to sammen når man har gjester. Allerede når du står med boksen så oser det luxus. Den har "Det lille ekstra" Flott blank boks med bilde av drage og fet skrift. Den er blank på farge, som en tonic skal være. Fin karbonering gir lette, livlige bobler som danner et lite lokk når den helles i glasset. Dufter av kinin og sitrus. I munnen er den frisk med endel kinin. Godt balansert mellom sitrus og et hint av sødme. Fin lengde på den, og vil påstå den passer sammen med flere typer gin. Mas på din lokale Gulating eller matbutikk så kommer den kanskje i hylla.
