Joshua Tree appreciation post. 🙌 To me, this park is something special. It’s so very different from the national parks of WA. Its wide open and arid climates of both the Mojave and Colorado desert meet. I love the giant boulders, chola garden and, of course, the park’s namesake, the Joshua Trees. “Spring at the Spring” This guy wouldn’t let me rest until I finished him! You can’t see all of the tiny details that went into making him and his neighborhood, but I know they’re just where they need to be to tell his story. These colors really say Spring to me! Water is an important resource here in the high desert, so all of the animals need to know where to find it. I don’t have a spring on my land, but there’s a little place that holds just enough for the birds to take baths and for the coyotes and foxes to have a drink.
