This past weekend I had the most amazing opportunity to sit and talk with @drphil and meet his wonderful team, truly an experience I will never forget🤍 I’ve been emotionally and mentally all over the place. Some things I’ve had to do recently which has prevented me from being as productive and communicative as I usually am is - • reliving each day before Carson’s passing feeling immense guilt during the short few days he was in the hospital septic and extremely sick • reading through all of his medical records and autopsy report putting me back through hell • allowing myself to be vulnerable and feel the emotions I’ve been compartmentalizing for so long This past year without our sweet boy has been the worst yet most eye-opening year. In fact, these experiences give you a unique perspective to become better and stronger, as well as the ability to understand things that those who haven’t had these experiences have. ⠀ Just because I’m from a broken home doesn’t mean that I am broken and I’d never let my kids be a victim of my inability to repair whatever may have got (temporarily) broken throughout my life. ⠀ ⠀ Shit happens and we all have stories and hurt, but it’s our responsibility to learn and become better. ⠀ If not for ourselves, for the children or those that look up to us and rely on us. What an experience. This was such a God moment. Last week I was walking my dogs around Klyde Warren Park and with a full dog poop bag in hand, I was approached by a producer. He quickly asked me “would you be willing to do an interview for the Dr Phil Primetime show?” I said you know what I got time today! Haha I responded with “Can I put this poop bag down first? 🤣” Just like me to say something like that.. haha so I answered a few questions about US Taxes dollars, how they are spent and how we are taxed. At the end of the interview, they asked if I wanted to come to the show. I had no idea Dr Phil moved his studio to Roanoke, Texas! In my mind I was going to just be a normal audience member- which I was excited about! The following day I received a call from a producer saying I would actually be mic’d up and answering questions on the show! I was like uhhh why? 🤣😭 so fast forward to Tuesday, I was blessed to have Dr Phil call my name, and ask me a question. Hearing my country voice echo throughout a full audience studio and answer a question was such a surreal moment. Again, I didn’t think I would actually get to meet him directly or take a photo, but he was so gracious and talked to each of us that spoke on the show and took photos with us. I appreciated his show, not politically motivated, just plainly stating the facts about how our government is spending our tax dollars, the ridiculous programs we are paying billions of dollars for and how it’s hurting the every day American. As Americans, now is the time to stand up and demand accountability from our government and politicians to remind them they serve us not the other way around!
