Where oh where has the time flown?!?! Our sweet baby is now the proud owner of a learner's permit!! Today, she drove for the very first time around in the neighborhood, beginning with those first baby steps towards becoming a proficient driver. It is always so fun to go on that first drive and see the reactions as mistakes are made that we can joke and laugh about for years to come. Oh those "remember when...." moments are some of the best times of reminiscing. With confidence, we can say that she stayed on the road, did not hit any parked or moving vehicles, and managed to stay off the sidewalks where pedestrians were walking. However, we can not promise that she will be on the correct side of the road when driving.... "I think that was a little of my British coming out, mom! I must have thought I was in the UK!" This grey haired mom was ever so thankful there was no oncoming traffic as we corrected our travels! 😂 . If it’s not hand-cut and polished by me then they are intuitively chosen for each unique personality to shine through and then become the feature of my designs and carefully embraced in Sterling Silver. If you’ve been following my posts you can see my hubby and I have been traveling on our sailing boat along our Aussie coastline. All I need to create is my tools, treasures and a stunning backdrop! I am also a Registered Nurse and this comes back to life when my Long Service Leave ends in April. So we will be back to land living and cutting more treasures to add to my growing collection. I think I’ve discovered that subtlety makes my art heart happy. In life, I have made it a point to enjoy the simple things, to not let ordinary moments of wonder pass me by, and I think that is spilling over into this collection. Little hints of color here and there. Little wisps of texture branching out. It’s the little things that, when noticed, bring us back to this moment. Right here. Right now.
