土日でエベレスティングに挑戦！ ※エベレスティングは自転車(またはラン)でエベレストの標高と同じ8848m以上登るチャレンジ 土曜の9時前にスタート。一回で126mなので71回繰り返す。家族や友人、自転車の先輩が応援に来てくれた。寝てはいけないルールなので鬼門となる夜も、友人が一緒に走ってくれたので眠気も来ずに助かった。翌日は朝に妻と次男が来て次男が一本付き合ってくれた。そして13:04に71回をクリアしてエベレスティング達成！！ 調子は悪くなかったのでさらに10回追加。17:28に10000mを突破。10000mを超えるとエベレスティング10Kという一つ上のチャレンジ達成！！ 前からやりたかった大きな目標をクリア出来て良かった！！ちょっと凄い実績詰めたぞw #everesting #everestingchallenge #everesting10k #everesting10kchallenge #GIOS #AEROLITE #エベレスティング #エベレスティング10K #エベレスティング達成

Hemos dado tanta 🦜 con el Everesting Romeral que me place decir que completamos los cupos los cuales habíamos abierto, (quizá habilitemos unos pocos) (80) personas estarán enfrentandose al muro del sur en el municipio de Sibate cundinamarca, seguimos con el proceso de que el ultrafondo agarre más fuerza a nivel nacional 🇨🇴. Más de 80 personas dispuestas a enfrentarse con la competencia más fuerte que tenemos que somos nosotros mismos. El reto será subir 12 veces romeral, si lo logra, ¡Genial! Si no se logra ¡Genial! Lo importante es intentarlo. Por mi parte estaré intentando el triple Everesting en este mismo puerto. Verrückte Ideen brauchen verrückte Leute, die sie umsetzen. Die Idee diesmal: Ein Everesting zu Fuß Heißt: einen ausgewählten Anstieg so oft hoch und wieder runter laufen, bis die Höhe des Mt. Everests mit 8.848 Metern erreicht wurde. Nachdem ich u.A. mit @fit4bike schon einmal ein Everesting mit dem Fahrrad absolviert hatte, wollte ich herausfinden, inwiefern das auch fußläufig realistisch ist. Am vorletzten Wochenende bin ich den Versuch angegangen. Um in #Chemnitz das Everesting zu laufen, musste ich weg vom Himalaya. Stattdessen wählte ich einen Anstieg im Sternmühlental von ca. 900m Länge und knapp 13 prozentiger Steigung. Diesen Anstieg durfte ich 83 Mal hinauf und hinunter laufen. Es sollte ein langer und harter Tag werden. Das Ziel, die Marke mit 8.848 Höhenmetern, stets als Antrieb im Hinterkopf. Bloß nicht verzählen, gut durch die Nacht kommen, gut und regelmäßig verpflegen und bloß nicht stehen bleiben, egal wie sehr der Körper streikt. Die ersten 50 Aufstiege liefen gut und recht konstant, dann wurde es zunehmend schwieriger. Die letzten 20 Aufstiege vergingen wie in Zeitlupe...Inzwischen bin ich nur noch mit dem Kopf gelaufen. Der Körper war schon längst bis aufs letzte Energiekorn ausgewrungen. Sich selbst nach oben und unten schreien half, um bei jedem Wendepunkt nicht in einen Liegestreik zu verfallen. Igendwie hab ich es geschafft. YES. Während auf der ersten Hälfte noch die Anstiege zäh und energieraubend waren, sollten auf der zweiten Hälfte die Abstiege das größere Problem sein. Zum Ende hin war bergab laufen ein Fluch und hochzu ein Segen. An einem Tag zu Fuß die Höhe des Everests erklommen zu haben und auch wieder runter vom Berg zu tapsen wurde erreicht. Jawoll! Da wurden im Ziel auch ein paar Tränchen verdrückt. Letztendlich wurden es 155,8km und 9.151 Höhenmeter. Wie geil. Endlich Füße hochlegen. 48 gels later… Absolutely not 🤢😂😅 I wanted to document everything I consumed during the 24hrs challenge so I could share it with you 📸 But that swiftly went out the window when I realised I needed all my mental energy to focus on completing the challenge 😅 But here is a (rough) overview of what I consumed. More to come on WHY I chose these things and WHEN I chose to eat/drink. Plus, WHAT I ate and WHY the following days after the event 🙏 4 x homemade protein energy balls 1 x homemade sourdough wrap with marmite and cheese 1 x homemade sourdough wrap with marmite and peanut butter 1 x large bag of jelly snakes 2 x homemade cookies gifted by @andiz_wheels 1 x homemade large mashed sweet potato with crusted tofu and peas 1 x banana 1 x snickers 1/2 peanut butter and jam sandwich 1 1/2 x bags of pretzel chips 1 x homemade rice pudding + jam ‘muffin’ 2 x handful salted nuts 1 x chocolate Alpro milk 300ml full fat coke 2 coffees (forever thankful @tri_kiwi_chick ) 2 x 1g sodium electrolytes 2 x 350mg sodium electrolytes No idea how much water 😅 I approached the challenge with an open mind thinking I would complete 3-4 reps but thought I would take enough food for the full 7 reps just in case. The inexorable march of time continues and we’re now at only 30 days to go. One month. Not a long time and given that I am hammering the cross trainer and not able to ride the bike, not an encouraging milestone. All being well il be back cycling on Tuesday but i can’t say it’s been an stress-free period, but I’ve been able to keep some solid aerobic work in which is good. Huge thanks to @pawbphysiotherapy keeping me going whilst working in the states. Independent business appreciation post #2 - @sibling_cardiff If you are a cyclist or know anyone who is, you’ll know the role that coffee plays (ie. critical in every way). That’s what prompted my first visit to Sibling when it first opened a few years back. I (and many others) go back again and again because it’s a wonderful place to be. Yes the coffee is immaculate and exciting, the cookies are peerless and the evening’s natural wine and small plates delicious. But for me, you go for the offerings and stay for the people. Georgie and Will have created something wonderful in Sibling. The whole team are genuinely nice people to be around and make work days, dog walks, bike rides, long runs, date nights and drop-ins extra special no matter how long you have. They’ve been a staple of my week for a while, but with all this training especially it’s been a haven. BASECAMP - SKI - Everesting #2 47,53km 4866hm 17h28min Eigentlich war dieses mal das komplette Everesting mit mind. 8848hm geplant, es wollte aber nicht sein, ich bin noch nicht so weit und die Bedingungen waren auch etwas anspruchsvoller als bei meinem Testlauf vor ein Paar Wochen. Als ich bemerkte dass es sich nicht mehr ausgehen wird, also, dass ich keinen zweiten Tag in der aktuellen Hitze mehr durchhalten würde, habe ich nachts um 00:40Uhr abgebrochen... Es hat vieles sehr gut funktioniert, von der Ernährung Hammerdachli über die Ausrüstung usw. war eigentlich alles gut vorbereitet, der Puls war Perfekt, ich wurde allerdings am Ende doch um einiges langsamer, speziell beim Wechseln im Basecamp, es wurde immer mühsamer sich umzuziehen, die Felle zu montieren, das Getränk zu bereiten... Das war aber nicht der letzte Versuch! Es war wirklich toll dass mich einige besucht haben und mir sogar Verpflegung mitgebracht oder auch etwas Schnee geschaufelt haben! Ihr seid die Besten!! Birgit Zlimnig hat mich gleich morgens 3 Runden begleitet und Marc Gabriel hat mich 6 Runden begleitet und dabei 2500hm gemacht!! Bernhard Hosp hat sogar Einige Löcher Zugeschaufelt, Marcel Lins hat uns besucht. Evelin Thurnher und Thomas Thurnher kamen kurz nach meinem Abbruch mit Stirnlampen die Piste hoch und haben mit uns Angestoßen. Eugen Nesensohn hat mir Kaffee gebracht und mir beim abräumen geholfen!! Das war richtig cool!! Naja, wenigstens habe ich ein zweites Basecamp-Everesting im Sack. Und das nächste mal bin ich schon einen ganzen Schritt weiter... Auf meinem Profil auf everesting.cc wird das bald einzusehen sein. @drpichu me preguntó en una de las pausas de recuperación si creía que había subestimado el reto, mi respuesta fue no. Pensando en que mejorar y hacer diferente, creo que yo me subestimé al empezar el reto creyendo que no lo lograría. Lo logré, me sentí muy bien y me dio la pila para participar con todo en el Aquiles Endurance Camp toda la semana. No fue nada fácil ya que mentalmente fue mucho trabajo activo para pasar del “terminaré?” al “terminé!”. ••• Waarom 10.000 hoogtemeters? ••• Voor de uitdaging natuurlijk, maar ook voor een prachtig goed doel. UZA Tria-Go 4 Kids helpt kinderen met een chronische ziekte of een mentale handicap en kinderen die revalideren na een zware ingreep. Door hen te trainen voor een triatlonwedstrijd, willen ze de kinderen niet alleen sterker en fitter maken, maar ook hun zelfvertrouwen en hun weerbaarheid vergroten. Waarom deze uitdaging? Na de lange afstanden van de afgelopen jaren, pak ik het nu wat anders aan. Ik ga Everesten, wat betekent dat je op één bepaalde helling 8849 hoogtemeters aflegt, evenveel als de Mount Everest. Ik rond het nog even af naar een mooi rond getal en ga voor 10.000 hoogtemeters 😉. Om dat aantal te halen, rijd ik 40 keer de Col De Rosier op en af, goed voor 352 km. Mijn doel is om per hoogtemeter 1 euro in te zamelen en zo aan 10.000 euro te komen. Voor begeleiding en materiaal voor de kinderen. De kilometers neem ik voor mijn rekening. #tbt This took some time to settle in. I never had imagined or even thought that I would dare be Everesting. I was humble and proud to have the opportunity to support @nick.nickglover in his mission to be become the first athlete with type 1 diabetes to complete a triple Everest and the first to do a Triple Everest in the UAE. And further to support for raising awareness for his project with @_wastetowonder_ to build a school in The Gambia to provide educational services. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this challenge and now I am proud to say that I have completed Everesting! 💪🔥⛰️ in simple explanation, Everesting is a cycling challenge to pick any climb/mountain anywhere in the world and repeatedly ascend and descend in a single activity until you accumulate the equivalent elevation height of Mt. Everest, which is 8,849m. With the elevation gain of one full climb from the foot to the summit of Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, it was 7 repeats. @nick.nickglover. however conquered this with a gruelling 21 repeats covering 970kms with over 27,000 meters!! I merely survived and I was on the verge of giving up during my 6th climb as I mentally wasn't in a good place, falling into the deep, pain everywhere from fatigue in my legs and numbness. This weekend was all about supporting @nick.nickglover and his attempt of “Triple Everesting” … well it’s not attempt anymore, he finished it this morning 0:45, riding his bike 3 days equaling 21 ascents on Jabel Jais!!!!
