I have this wonderful opportunity to do a staged reading of my play but I can’t find enough readers. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong except maybe that I’m not out and about connecting, but my life is busy, challenging, thrilling. I’m not very social and I’m a total introvert. So, how does one get people to do a staged reading. I can apply for a grant so this can be a paid gig. This play is really funny/good. But if I don’t find people soon, then I’m going to have to cancel my reading and tell the other performance that night that I can’t do it. Pierced my right eardrum with a very spikey f€£king Yukka plant frond 😭🥺😥 A contractor is here enclosing our carport. He was showing me what he was going to do today and I turned around and the frond went straight into right ear. Massive pain straight away and couldn’t hear out of EITHER ears well. Very limited for both. Happened this morning at 7:30am. I checked for blood coming out then rang Angaston hospital. Nurse said as it wasn’t bleeding out of my ear, to ring Dr at 8:30am for emergency appointment. THEN Xena cut her foot but no treatment needed. Just left a blood trail on front veranda that freaked me out. THEN I spilled almost a litre of water on iPad keyboard and in my Mimco handbag and contents! 😭😭😭 ALL 👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽within 30 minutes!! 🤦🏽♀️😂 That’s my 3 bad things for today! 😒😕 I think I was MORE concerned about my iPad keyboard and handbag than possible hearing loss! 🤣🤪😂 Dr said it will take 4+ weeks to heal. No water to go in my right ear. No blowing my nose as it’s a very delicate area and could open any healed. Put $35 ear drops in, if pain gets worse or bleeding or any discharge. Headache came on instantly after doing it. Still have it. 🥺 I’ve gone through a repertoire of ringing, buzzing, whirring and pounding. On repeat. Have very limited hearing in right ear now but left ear is ok and improved hearing. Dr said hearing loss in left ear is just that they are connected and work together. Having a strangely bad coffee day…(warning- I’m about to go on a “haven’t had coffee so life sucks” rant and might be a bunch of gibberish bc…haven’t had coffee 😐) and we all know how much I love my coffee. I was excited to go to my fav coffee spot this morning (which, btw, is no where near Santa Monica) because I found my old punch cards (!!)and I would be in the neighborhood this morning. These were from the days before I had an iPhone (rip blackberry) 🤣 I went outside of my comfort zone and ordered their House Coffee instead of my usual Sea Cream Black (y’all know I drink hot coffee, but the Sea Cream Black is (was??) the exception 😍) found out the House Coffee is sweetened with hazelnut syrup so I asked for no hazelnut syrup bc I dislike hazelnut flavored coffees and after a couple of uneventful sips, I realized the taste that wasn’t sitting well with me was hazelnutty, so I returned it and ordered my usual (btw- I paid for the second order, they didn’t seem to care I didn’t like the first) and Idk, my usual Sea Cream Black go-to also doesn’t taste like it has over the years. This one is too sweet, doesn’t seem to have enough coffee, I mean, it tastes like sugar water with a splash of coffee 😭 I am tempted to stop by Starbucks…is mercury still in retrograde? Did the eclipse mess with my coffee mo-jo? I’ve been through some rough stuff in my life. The most hardest has to be being told your son has a brain tumour 😭😭 With my dad been poorly, constantly worried about Harry, trying to stay strong for George, Henry, Phil and my mum I really don’t know how I am still standing. Whilst Harry was in theatre having his tumour removed (12 hours of waiting) I couldn't stop crying, I kept asking myself how this has happened, blaming myself, the weight of it all literally brought me to my knees, and I didn’t think I’d ever find my way out of that darkness 😭 But I knew I had to find my strength and courage to keep going as I knew I just didn't have a choice. I had to be strong for when Harry came out of surgery. I am grateful for the people that was there for me when I needed it 🙏🙏💛 Everyday no matter how tough things get, I still have hope 🙏 I keep going and I keep growing.
