Can I be honest with you? Personally, Mother’s Day isn’t one of my faves dates of the year. Much prefer Valentines and I’m (happily) single! Sometimes our parents are simply in our lives because they gave us one, and I will always be grateful for that. But this gift wasn’t cheap for me. I had to mother my own mother, be her nurse, psychiatrist and take care of her for about 5 solid years from the age of 11. No much of a thank you either and still keep asking shit after not really nurturing our relationship for a couple of decades. Sooo.. yeah, on todays date I’m going to shift my focus onto other mums who on the contrary have done and still doing an amazing job at raising wonderful, sensitive, strong and smart human beings. Just when you thought it was safe to go outside again. 🌧️ ☔️ We discussed going for a walk this weekend but, and don’t hate me for saying this, the thought of the Peak District just doesn’t do it for me. I was trying to find somewhere to walk and my brain while scrolling was like “boring, done it, boring, too flat, done it, done it, boring!’. As much as mountains absolutely kill me, I’m craving that feeling of achievement. I’m craving some Snowdonia or Cumbrian views. I’m craving a hike that, when you stop to catch your breath and silence the screaming that’s coming from your calves, your surroundings take your breath away and every ounce of hatred you have for that particular moment in time melts away, until you start walking again. 🤣 I need that in my life. I NEED IT! We’ve had some many opportunities, but the weather has always stopped play. It’s beyond frustrating.
