“Keep the pilot light lit”- @dustinwayne841 Fully fell back in love with running again. Over the years that relationship has always had its ups and downs. But I always kept the pilot light on and when I’ve fell back in love I could easily get back to a mileage I wanted and into decent shape. This week I ran 110 miles which is the most I’ve ever ran in a training week. I’ve enjoyed pretty much all those miles! Got to share a bunch with friends and with myself! Also it was a 6 day work week on Strava’s calendar! Great week also as I got to go golfing with @stitt34 and @tndo_seth for the first time which was a blast even though I’m awful! But keep the pilot light lit in your life and don’t quit. Whether it’s with running, your job, lifting or your marriage. You’re not always gonna be madly in love with it, and you might have to go through the motions at points. Sunday is rest day. Rest from running that is. I am mostly plant-based. But Sunday dinner includes a little lean chicken. This is one of my favorites… * Baked skinless chicken * Roasted zucchini with a little garlic and Parmesan * Honey-glazed carrots * Mashed potatoes and gravy * mixed greens and blueberries And for dessert… yellow cake with homemade chocolate butter cream frosting. The race was really challenging with all the ahon. @owlsroostrumble 4 Mile Ruck This was a new challenge for me: a 4 mile trail race while wearing a 20lb weighted vest. There were quite a few moments when I wasn't having fun, but thankfully I have an amazing husband and great friends that made sure I crossed the finish line. While I missed standing on the podium by about 30 seconds, I know I gave it my all. I even surprised myself by finishing a minute slower than last year, where I wasn't rucking. There were a total of 12 of us who rucked the 4 mile race. Twelve! This is compared to the 185 other runners, who ran beside me. I placed fourth in the female overall division. 18 miles this morning out in winter garden. WG is my happy place!! The workout had 1 minute surges at the end of each mile. I love adding in surges because it keeps my legs springy and breaks up the monotony of a long run. So thankful to have run into my @truendurance crew! This was my 3rd consecutive year running the Nashville Half Marathon! There were 23,000 half marathoners. This is one of my all time favorite half marathons (out of the 200 I have done) but y’all, this one is tough!! Year 1, my time was 2 hours 25 minutes. Year 2, my time was 2 hours 30 minutes. Year 3, 2 hours and 43 minutes. If I didn’t stop at mile 7 to wait 10 minutes in the port-a-potty line (because I had to pee soooo bad) and at mile 10 I developed some serious blisters on both of my feet, I would have been right at my normal time. Here’s the thing, I never train for these. I just show up and get it done. I DO NOT recommend this, but God gave me the ability to push through the hard times, and get it done regardless! 🚨24 minute marathon PR!🚨 3:59:31 Today will go down as the day I fell in love with marathons. I ran faster for longer than I ever have before but all of that ended when I hit a wall (if you look at my splits, you can guess where). I finished Marathon #7 🔥🏃🏼♀️➡️🎉 It was awesome getting to finish the @eugenemarathon on the famous “Hayward Field” which is a super iconic track in the track world! (Swipe 👉🏼 to see me finish on the track) 🏟️💚🤍⚡️ Since the race took place in “Tracktown, USA” the atmosphere before the race was top notch! 🙌🏼 This race unfortunately, did not go the way I wanted it to. Instead of a physical race, which you would assume would be the case since I was running 26.2 miles- it became more of a battle of my mindset & continuing onward, despite my stomach feeling off the entire race; pretty much from Mile 4-Mile 22; so the battle was telling myself to keep going even though I felt very nauseous I’m honestly not sure what went wrong, but something definitely did; at least from Mile 22 to the finish, I FINALLY was able to pick up my speed & haul myself to the finish line 🏁 Also, I know finishing my 7th 26.2 mile race is still a HUGE accomplishment, since < 1% of the population actually completes this type of race! 🩵 I will do my best to keep this in mind✨ I will definitely be recovering for sometime as my whole body feels fried, but know this won’t be my last race!💥💥 #marathonfinisher #marathoner #raceday #pushyourlimits #runnerslife #racerecap #runningmotivation #mindsetmatters #runhappy #tracktownusa

Having ran 5 marathons in my younger years I was thrilled to attend the Madrid Marathon in Spain 🇪🇸 today! The race course begins near Paseo de Recoletos and heads north past the Biblioteca Nacional de España, then the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. After 8 kilometres the route turns southwards and heads back towards Nuevos Ministerios. Runners then follow a twisting south-westerly route. After passing Plaza Mayor, it goes north past the Royal Palace of Madrid and reaches the half marathon mark at Parque del Oeste. Mississauga Beneva Marathon Finished the marathon, but not in my intended goal time as I was aiming for 3:10. I held 4:30/km pace up until 30K and the heat slowly got to me at the end and I got dehydrated as the weather warmed up. The water stations were to far apart at 5K. I got thirsty quickly despite grabbing every opportunity for hydration. I went into a mild shock and bp dropped to 98/60 at 41K. Thankful for the prompt response of the medical team that came to my assistance and the local neighbours. They applied an ice pack to bring my core temperature down and gave me water and towels. Even EMS arrived with fire truck and ambulance. My condition was stabilized as I sat by the curb for 30min and my legs began to cramp up too. Thank-you to my friends for staying by my side at the finish area medical tent. Visited the Mississauga Marathon Expo to pick up my race kit. The event is very small without the excitement of a World Major Marathon event. I was in and out within 15min. I took advantage of the spring blossoms at nearby Kariya Park. There was a magnolia tree and one cherry blossom. Afterwards, I started my carb loading diet at Pho Ngoc Yen and had a large bowl of spaghetti bolognese for dinner. Will rest up early tonight for the early morning race start.
