5. Den ve Skotsku Den jsme začali příjezdem do Fort Agustus. Hned nám padla do oka loď. Po optání kam jede, nám bylo jasný, že my na ni chceme být. 🙂 Tak jsme se vydali lodi na Loch Ness. Třeba tam Nessie potkáme. Plavba trvala 50 minut cca a byl nam rečen zajímavý a pěkný výklad. Po plavbě jsme prošli městečko a pak jsme se vydali na hrad Urquhart. Lístky jsme museli koupit po internetu, jinak nás nepustili ani na parkoviště. Po prohlídce jsme se vydali do nedaleké vesničky na pozdní oběd. A pak hurá do Dingwall na ubytování. Day 2 - Hamster became a cowboy 😜 we saw some big ol’ fishing trawlers go through the lock, but most importantly we went to Loch Ness! We took a cruise and went right out across it. The boat uses sonar to broadcast projections of the bottom of the loch, and whilst we didn’t really find Nessie (although the stickers on the boat window meant you could do silly pictures!) we did find life forms down there that were easily 5m long, and nobody knows what they are 😳 I could infodump for days about it all, ask me if you’re interested. Anyway, came back, found a fence that looks like an angry chicken, did some shopping & found out that Hamster actually rather suits a flat cap. Day 1 - arrived at 4:30pm and spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the beautiful Fort Augustus. Learned how locks work (it’s like a staircase for boats) and discovered that our guest house is frequented by several ducks and a pheasant. Slept terrible, the walls are too thin, but hey ho. Glencoe & Harris 🥰🏖️🚐☀️ We’ve just returned from an amazing 6 day trip to the #outerhebrides Staying at @invercoehighlandholidays for 1 night on our way over to #lewisandharris The site was perfect for a wee stopover to break up the journey. We got a cracking pitch right on the loch shore. On to #fortaugustus for lunch the next day, we ate in The Bothy which was very disappointing. We’d have been better getting a chippy, as it smelled amazing when we walked past it. Our sailing and experience on the #calmac Ullapool to Stornoway ferry was great, we had a beautiful sailing on a lovely calm & bright night. We stayed with a family mrmber, who lives in Gress, and spent one night in the van at Luskentyre. We were so blown away with the scenery in Harris that we decided to extend our trip so that we could do the #goldenroad. We found the roads quite easy to drive in the camper, but some parts did feel like we were on a rollercoaster 😂 Our night at Luskentyre was unreal, as we got parked up right on the beach (£5 for the night) it was a steal, the sunset was gorgeous and we were lucky to have clear blue skies. We squeezed in visits to the #harrisdistillery, #callanishstones, #blackhouses and the #broch, but it was Harris that stole our hearts ♥️
