Crafted over 1,000 years ago in Scandinavia, this intricately decorated bronze object was later converted into a buckle during the Viking period and worn by someone on their journey to Scotland 🚣 Discovered in na h-Eileanan Siar (the Outer Hebrides), it's been described as "an exceptionally rare example of pre-Viking Age Scandinavian craftsmanship". Gaelic words and typography. During the clearing out and stripping back of the Small Mission Hall, I also found a few of these old Bibles and book of Psalms. Not surprising as this was an old Church Mission Hall. Some were in Gaelic, others in English. Clearly these would have been a significant part of the buildings heritage. . The Whalebone Box ... is a 2019 film produced and directed by Andrew Kötting. A whalebone box found washed up on the shore. It was given to Iain Sinclair, Kötting’s walking companion on his latest jaunt themed film. They set out on an expedition to take this box to its place of origin, a beach on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Artist Eden Kötting helps shape the film, and in many ways it’s an ode to her indomitable spirit. Once touched the box can change lives. It was always intended to be an active thing, kill or cure. Three men undertake a journey to return a box made of whalebone to the place where the whale was beached. Russian volume in cat eye effect on this absolute darling 💖 I used different lashes this time from @lashbase_uk and what a beautiful lash line it’s given 😍. We started with removing all her previous lashes as they were mostly all out grown, followed by a lash bath, cleanse and boosted those lashes. Lash mapped and kept the length to her own lash length. Put my mad scientist goggles on 🤪 and sat for 3 hours to create this set. Mullach Bi is the third highest hill on Hirta, and rises like a rock fin to 358m above the island's western coastline. The dramatic cliffs tower above the sea, giving it a presence that belies it's modest stature. The rocks that comprise the west of Hirta are the older, harder gabbros. They are distinguished from the softer eastern granite by their dark grey colour and more angular shape, which gives this side of the island it's jagged profile. These photos were taken yesterday from the north and south, with Mullach Bi looking majestic in the soft light of the setting sun.
