FOOD & EATING My go to when I need to give my body and soul energy and boost my mood is food. I have learned to indulge myself through my senses. Taken cooking lessons from people that inspire me and educated myself in the importance of bringing in the senses and to balance the enteric nervous system. It works. In order to create better dialogue with belly (since I had IBS for over 25 years) I need to: Eat regularly Food my belly says yes to afterwards More than 3 colours on my plate Chew rhythmically and slow my eating down Pause and allow the tastes to be recognised through my senses As often as I can I like to lay the table with tablets, handcrafted ceramics or garage sale cutlery, lit candles and enjoy my meals with people I love. Today’s #GenZ college students, those born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, want it all when it comes to their food – quick, fresh, healthy, local and sustainable. The graph represents @aramark’s #PlantForward research which suggests that consumers are shifting their eating habits toward more plant-forward foods, with 60% wanting to reduce their meat intake. Nearly three out of four (65%) Gen Zers, specifically, find plant-forward eating appealing and 79% would go #meatless, 1-2 times a week now or in the future. Gen Zers are getting involved in #ClimateFriendly food policy, too. A 2022 study by @veylinx showed that 62% of Gen Z participants in the U.S. supported a tax on meat products and 71% were in favor of subsidies for #AlternativeProteins. Gen Z celebrities are also getting involved. “Overheated,” a climate awareness event co-organized by singer @billieeilish, was hosted at an almost entirely #VeganVenue. Both dairy and meat #PlantbasedAlternatives are forecast to grow through 2024, driven almost entirely by #Millennials and Gen Zs. Due to a boom in #veganism, food brands like @justegg and @alphafoods have begun adjusting their marketing strategies to appeal to younger consumers. A new report concludes that choosing plant-based foods in place of conventional meat products could have far-reaching impacts on nature. According to the study, this dietary shift in the UK could help to save 500 species from the fate of extinction, largely due to the resulting decrease in the amount of land used for meat production. Conducted by UK charity The @food.foundation, the study finds that choosing to eat less meat could result in an increase in biodiversity. Its authors note that at the 2020 @unitednations Summit, the UK government stated its commitment to reversing the decline of biodiversity by the year 2030. They also emphasize that an increase in fruit and vegetable consumption could help the nation to achieve this goal. Azolla Ecosystems enables gastronomers and supermarkets to grow their own produce, on demand, always fresh and right where it’s consumed or sold. 
The aquaponic systems (a closed cycle in which fish produce the nutrients for plants and they in return clear the water) will be installed inside supermarkets and gastronomy and provide a steady supply of fish and veggies, herbs and fruits. This system has the potential to save food waste and CO2, but also to curb the exploitation of our waters and degradation of soils. Additionally it contributes to local food sourcing and -security. Sooner than later, conventional, harmful farming practices will have to adapt more sustainable approaches in order to prevent our climate from collapsing.
