On Monday, Nic spent the day training with the team at the beautiful Tree Tops Preschool in Warriewood. Another great dive last week with @macanamaldive . To be able to get this new experience deep down in the sea of enjoying nature and photographing new habitats makes me feel so blessed and grateful for every minute i am allowed to stay under water. In the last week i managed to get the first pictures of so man new species, so i want to share a few photos of them. This photo of a real #caretta tutle was shot at Rehi Thila - Maldives early morning at the end of an exciting dive at a very shallow reef in a depth about 8m. Es ist sind nicht die Höhlen, wobei die auch total schön sind. Ich wollte auch mal einem Windrad die Flügel ausreißen.🫣🤭🤪🤣😂 Die Geschichte dahinter ist: Der Betreiber streitet sich seit Jahren mit der Stadt um die Kosten des Abbau und so hat man hier die einmalige Gelegenheit mal so ein Flügel von nahem zu sehen.. Vom Dorf aus geht es hoch...einige Höhlen und ein schöner Aussichtspunkt. Vorbei an einem alten Steinbruch geht es vorbei zu den Windrädern. Wo es in Erftstadt schön war, ist es in der Eifel bei Gerolstein gut windig...aber zumindest warm. Nach knapp 8Kilometern erreiche ich wieder den Ort... Burgess Falls is located in Sparta, Tennessee and is named after Tom Burgess, a Revolutionary War veteran 🪖, who settled along the Falling Water River in the early 1800s. Tom and his family remained in the area for decades and used the river rapids to power a grist mill and saw mill 🪚 that would go on to supply cornmeal and lumber 🪵to other nearby settlers. Roughly 100 years later, in the 1920s, the nearby city of Cookeville built an earthen dam along the river, a mile or so upstream from Burgess Falls ⛲ Only a few short years later, a flood would destroy the dam, and the city would go on to construct a concrete dam in its place. Tour 🎒 🥾: Brunssummerheide Die ganze Woche am Regnen, der Wetterbericht für heute auch nicht besonders gut und dann fällt auch dein Wanderbuddy Morgens aus. So ist die Planung der Woche rund um das Hohe Venn in Belgien mit einer Tagestour schnell kaputt. Als mein Kumpel sich meldet, lieg ich noch im Bett und denke. O.k...alleine machste eh keine große Tour heute und Dreh mich nochmal rum. Die Woche in der Einarbeitung war eh anstrengend. So komme ich heute spät raus und frage mich wohin ich um kurz vor Elf noch fahren soll. Ich entscheide mich für eine Natur Tour und etwas Musik hören um den Kopf was frei zu bekommen. Die Brunsummerheide ist Landschaftlich schon schön und Zeitweise ist es eine Mischung aus Harz und Dünen am Meer. Die Runde fordert mich nicht um am Schluss hätte ich noch einige Kilometer gehen können. Aber solche Tage braucht es auch. Erholung ist wichtig. Let's talk about sunscreens... We are about 1 month into Spring and we will all hopefully start spending more time outside in the coming months! As you saw in previous #HealthTipTuesday posts, there are so many benefits involved with being outdoors! But if you're going outside and putting on sunscreen, you may be causing your body additional stress and exposing yourself to unnecessary toxins if you aren't purchasing a quality brand! See, many popular brands include ingredients that are either suspected or known endocrine disruptors. And we are putting these products directly onto our skin, sometimes multiple times in one day, and allowing them to soak right into our bodies, with a direct path to our blood stream. In fact, zinc and titanium dioxide (both are from nature - not man-made) are the ONLY two ingredients found in sunscreens that are labeled as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA. You don't see that fun fact on the marketing labels! So what do we do??? 1. Avoid chemical sunscreens, especially aerosol sprays. (If it smells like the beach - you know what I mean - don't buy it.) 2. Look for and purchase 100% mineral sunscreens that are made of primarily zinc oxide and other natural ingredients. (If you want to know what we personally use, just shoot me a message and I'll be happy to share.) (Quick shoutout to the European Commission - they have now recommended some serious changes to the ingredients in their sunscreens. They've recognized the dangers involved.
