Synopsis : Chauffeur d’une voiture de luxe, Lloyd conduit Mary à l’aéroport. La belle oublie sa mallette dans le véhicule. Ainsi, ils pourront lui rendre l’objet tant convoité. Le périple commence. Ce Road Movie est sans aucun doute une des meilleurs comedie que j’ai eu la chance de voir. Un duo légendaire, l’histoire de deux amis complètement… Bête ! La débilité suprême, il n’y a pas d’autres mots mais qu’est ce qu’on éclate de rire du début à la fin. Jim Carrey n’est pas à présenté, c’est le meilleur acteur de comédie que j’ai vu dans les films américains, Jeff Daniels complète parfaitement la tête d’affiche, on se revoit la belle dans le film, limite un concours pour savoir qui est le plus abruti à travers des scènes mémorables ( la boule de neige, la langue collée au poteau du télésiège), ils ont la bonne étoile au dessus de leur tête, ils arrivent constamment, on ne sait comment à se sortir de tout situation, alors qu’ils sont sur le point de se faire tuer. Leur naïveté est légendaire, les frères Farrelly offrent un récital de scène cocasses, de répliques tordantes, d’un humour ravageur et décalé, limite parfois très sombre. Dumb and Dumber est un film juste pour rire, pas pour réfléchir, pour nous rappeler à quel point c’est important de le faire. C’est burlesque, on s’attache à ces deux gars qui au départ n’ont pas spécialement de chance et qui au fur et mesure vont mener une aventure trépidante au volant.. D’une camionnette légendaire, déguisé en chien. Rien que ça, vous avez comprit le délire. Reviewing Speed; I just watched this and it’s a classic. As for the storyline after policemen Jack and Harry save people from a bomb on a lift and believe that the bomber is dead he returns and bombs a bus and has another one on a bus that will blow up if goes over 50mph and it’s down to Jack to stop it. As for the cast I really liked Keanu Reeves Sandra Bullock and Dennis Hopper and others good too. Overall it’s a brilliant action packed film with tension. “Speed” (1994) is an action thriller directed by Jan de Bont starring Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock & Jeff Daniels. Man, what a year for film 1994 was - this was incredible, so glad i got to watch it in cinema for the 30th anniversary. This is one of the greatest action films of all time, i was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The film gets started straight away with a tense action sequence of Jack & Harry saving those in the elevator. Reeves gives a solid performance as Jack, but Hopper stole the show for me with a fantastic standout performance as Howard Payne. Bullock and Daniels both shone in their own respects too as Annie & Harry. The action was just gripping and just non-stop - you’re constantly invested in what’s happening and it just keeps you engaged throughout, from start to finish. The characters are just written so well too, the chess match between Jack and Howard is fantastic and are just both such smart characters, the decisions they each make throughout the film are excellent to watch transpire and evolve throughout the course of the film, and you’re constantly wondering where the situation will head next. The suspense was built up so well, the music helped with that too and there was some strong cinematography and editing involved too. Overall, i loved this movie. I’ve not been so gripped and invested in a film for so long - especially an action movie. Pleasantville- High school twins David and Jennifer are watching tv at night while their mother is away when, after fighting over the remote, they break the tv. An odd tv repairman shows up and fixes the tv and leaves, impressed by David’s knowledge of an old 50s tv show called “Pleasantville.” After he leaves the two find themselves transported to the world of the tv show, including being in black and white. Their fictional parents believe them to be their children, just like the show and soon they’re attending school and interacting with the community, in which nothing bad happens. But their presence soon begins to infect the world, causing color to appear in town and soon the denizens are asking question the two don’t have answers for. A little weak as a Jackie Chan movie, but that’s okay because he’s always a fun time regardless. It was like Kindergarten Cop (1990) meets 3 Ninjas (1992) or something. It had more suburban drama than I expected, so I guess it also reminded me of The Incredibles (2004). The character arcs were believable enough and the main kids weren’t annoying as shit, so that’s a plus.
