„Backbending SUCKS!“🤯 That’s what I was saying for a long long time during the years of my own yoga practise. It me took an eternity to truly understand and finally like them. There’re basically only 2 things which are important in the Backbending practise: 1. HOW IT FEELS 2. WHAT IS DOES to your body! Forget the aesthetics, forget the comparison with people here on Instagram. It‘s not a competition who get‘s the deepest shape. But practise them and don’t leave them out! I‘ve never been naturally bendy in my back. My predisposition says: bend forward. The stronger I got in my back, the more I focused on the right flexibility/ mobility techniques and when I started to practise more consciously and also free from expectations, That’s when I finally received the yogic benefits, everyone was talking about 🤓 How is your relationship with backbends? 2022 vs 2023 ⬇️ Je me prends à regarder les différences entre ces deux poses qui n’étaient qu’une formalité pour moi il y’a seulement quelques semaines de cela Je me prends à réfléchir sur le changement assez important dans ma pratique et mon approche du yoga depuis ces derniers mois. Moi la sportive qui ne cherchait qu’à atteindre l’asana complexe, qui ne cherchait qu’à se dépasser physiquement, j’apprends aujourd’hui à me dépasser autrement, de façon plus intuitive, intérieure Cette pratique d’asana avancée, le mouvement et la mobilité restent mon credo, mais depuis que j’enseigne, mon approche personnelle du yoga a évoluée Alors ce king cobra datant de décembre 2023 est sûrement moins « profond » que celui de décembre 2022, mais c’est PAS GRAVE car mon corps s’est développé sur d’autres choses à côté qui m’ont élevée et tout autant apporté 🙏🏽 Je me prends une dernière fois à accepter ce changement et à me dire que chaque chose ne vient pas par hasard, que cette évolution m’amène vers quelque chose de différent et de tout aussi intéressant à explorer 😉 ➡️ Et vous, que ce soit en yoga ou pas, votre pratique a-t-elle évoluée ? ♡ yoga mobilité mobility movement mouvement yoga fonctionnel tutoriel tutorial tips conseil Yoga teacher functional training active flexibility

Swipe for how I started practising for this pose & progress photos. I started with a yoga wheel against the wall because it was more comfortable than having my chest on the wall back in Nov 2018. I needed some breathing space between me & the wall then. lol. 12 Jun 2019 was the first time I could get into this pose without wall & without a teacher assisting me. But didn’t have the strength to pull my feet to my head. A week later, 20 Jun 2019, strength showed up & closed the gap between my feet & my head. The photo dated 4 Jul 2019 was assisted by a teacher. This is my goal, I still can’t achieve this depth without help. My torso is a lot shorter as compared to my legs, as a result I need to extend & lift my hip flexors a lot which makes it ultra challenging for me to do it by myself.
