When was the last time you did something for the first time? Or just broken out of routine? Pattern interrupt? Typically when I travel it’s a very systematic and clear routine. ✅check in ✅pass security ✅find gate ✅browse duty free ✅wait patiently for boarding Today I walked past the make up booth and out of nowhere thought - “I should get my make up done”. Then I immediately thought “no, that’s for larny girls, you know the pretty ones” 👀👀👀 what the what??? 🚫🚫🚫 I stopped myself before taking another step. I am literally en route to coach into over coming imposter syndrome and today I wasn’t going to let that little voice win! So opened my mouth and without allowing myself to back out started asking for a make up set. Long story short… they don’t do full make up thingys at the airport but I get my eyes done and took another BOLD step with a new popping colour! And I love it 💋. New found favourite because I didn’t let that pesky voice win today. So take a step. Be bold. Courage can be 10 steps or 1 step. But take the step. Happy Sunday! Working hard on my goals today! Sunday isn’t normally a focus day for me, but it has been such a fun day. It’s been such a satisfying and energizing day. I have been reflecting all day about my energy and the momentum I am creating in my life. I observe that I could attribute it to the impact of so many little things that I have been doing each day. I’ve been very decisive about how I will spend my time and what I will give my energy to. I’ve been keeping my daily commitments to myself. I’ve been working on my thinking every single day. Some momentum took hold earlier this week that allowed me to break free from an old limiting story or belief I had been holding onto. I knew this story was there. In fact, I’ve worked on it in my coaching sessions and in my self-coaching for years. I understood how it’s not true on an intellectual level and tried so hard, but couldn’t let it go. I just couldn’t seem to believe something different. I looked at it again with as much spaciousness and neutrality I could give it. I questioned it again for possibly the 1000th time. I spent time on who I would be in my life if I decided to become unavailable to it. AND breakthrough happened. All of the sudden I understood it and released it from both my mind and my heart. What I noticed is that my energy changed.🚀 One of my teachers has said that if you’re not taking action or you are not getting the results you want in your life in any area - it can usually be traced to one main thought that you keep thinking and likely don’t even know it’s there. This is so powerful. What I want to share today is that as your coach, friend, mentor, or colleague - don’t accept that limiting belief or that limiting story. No matter how long it takes you, don’t quit on your ability to live your life beyond it. Free of it. This is always possible for you and it can happen in an instant. You are capable of living your life with only the best beliefs about yourself. Aiming for consistency is the key to making long lasting changes which increases your productivity and motivation whilst helping to prevent burnout. Consistency also means building on what you are doing over time to ensure that you achieve your goals and grow throughout the process. Who can think about a Sunday without a serious email-checking ritual? This JEWEL impressed me with a relatively rare, in today’s world, personal boundary. When she changed departments within her company five years ago, she made a decision to stop checking email at night and on weekends. She used the new role as an opportunity to redefine her patterns. Recently, I’ve shared a few stories, reflections, and tips for and by working moms. Today’s reflection, and tomorrow’s, were shared by women without children. Both JEWELs commented that boundary-setting for non-mothers is an equally challenging struggle because their colleagues do not always equally value their non-work time (i.e., leaving work early to care for children is more respected than doing something for oneself). In this case, this woman tech exec said that she stays at work until she is truly finished for the day, and then she is DONE. See you tomorrow morning! The five stages of grief, often referred to as the Kübler-Ross model, are a framework proposed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in her 1969 book "On Death and Dying." 🧠 1️⃣ Denial: This is the initial stage in which individuals may deny the reality of the situation. They may refuse to believe that the loss has occurred, often as a defence mechanism to protect themselves from overwhelming emotions. 2️⃣ Anger: As the reality of the loss sets in, individuals may experience anger. This anger can be directed towards themselves, others, or even towards the situation or the entity responsible for the loss. It's a natural reaction to feeling powerless and out of control. 3️⃣ Bargaining: In this stage, individuals may attempt to negotiate with a higher power, fate, or even the person or thing they've lost. They may make promises or seek ways to change the situation, often desperately attempting to regain what was lost or alleviate their pain. 4️⃣ Depression: As the full impact of the loss is realised, individuals may experience feelings of deep sadness, despair, and hopelessness. This stage involves coming to terms with the reality of the loss and mourning what is gone. It's important to note that depression in this context is not necessarily clinical depression but rather a natural response to loss. 5️⃣ Acceptance: The final stage involves accepting and integrating the loss into one's life. It's not about "getting over" the loss but rather about finding a way to live with it. The thing about conflict is…it opens the door for connection and understanding. . An immediate response to conflict is that it can generate directly from our brains. But the best response to conflict usually comes from within our bodies. In times of stress, our bodies tend to shut down and automate, but breathing and slowing down, allows us to address difficult situations with more curiosity and ease. .
