Day 221 of 240. 19 days to go. Trained upper body and did cardio. This morning dedication was in full effect because I am so sore that I thought about going back home. But I showed up and had an amazing work out today. I loved it and gave it my all. I wore my favorite gym color #pinkalldayeveryday💕 and listened to my urbano music and just enjoyed the me time. Day 220 of 240. 20 to go. Today I trained legs and it felt great. I am easing myself back to leg day and I am so happy my face hurts from smiling so much. I love lifting and leg day is my absolute favorite. I am feeling lean, strong, determined, and overall a winner. I count working out as a win and it feels so good. Even when I just stay in the car in the gym parking lot for an extra 5 minutes contemplating going back home. Even then it feels great to move my body once I start my routine. Day 184 of 240. 56 to go. Today I trained lower body and loved it!🙏😁 Cardio was done as well. I see myself in the mirror and do not recognize myself sometimes. It is amazing to see all the changes and I am hungry for more. Working on myself has been a blessing to my well being, my mental health (anxiety), and just the way I look at things. My perspective has definitely changed and for the better. Today I choose to celebrate all the small changes. These changes have made a lifestyle change possible for me. Getting up earlier, meal prep, journaling, having accountability by surrounding yourself with people with same goals in mind, pushing forwards, not giving up, getting work outs in, and choosing myself has changed my life for the better. Day 157 of 240. 83 to go. Friday!!! I am happy that it is finally Friday. This week has been a rough one. But I still showed up and got my workouts done. Top priority for self care is to make time for my work outs. Even during a rough week moving my body changes my mood instantly. Forever feeling blessed and highly favored that I am able to move and enjoy moving my body. Today was a full body routine and I gave it my all. I seriously could not do it before due to obesity. Day 156 of 240. 84 to go. I am tiredddddd! #lol😂😍😂 but made it to the gym because of #legday🍑 . Thank God for friends @_jessibearr_ because having company pushed me to finish my work out. I love training lower body. Since we are doing 5 sets of 12 repetitions, I lowered the weights to make sure I have great form. I do not want to get injured and not be able to lift. So I listened to my body and trained with less weight. I love seeing the changes in my body from lifting. And I sure feel strong after lifting. Sometimes I wonder if I am a bit nuts for training at 5am but then I think of how much I enjoy it and just simle. But I am ready for the weekend and much needed time to just relax. Cheers to lifting. Day 155 of 240. 85 to go. Trained upper body today and did the dreaded LISS cardio on the stairmaster. I asked myself: what did the #caloriecutqueens do to @lesleyslifestylehabits? Because 5 sets of 12 plus LISS cardio on the same day was brutal! #😥😖😉 but guess what?? It was done. I survived. And this morning my hubby had to cheer me up for my 🍑 to make it to the gym. Like Leslie says not every day is a game day or great day but we have the choice to make great decisions. In my case I do not want to lift on the weekends so I got myself to the gym, had my pre workout, and did my thing. I felt much better after I was done. Accomplished and powerful. Day 154 of 240. 86 to go. Today was a really hard leg session. Sets of 5 with 12 reps each but guess what? I survived and I loved it all. I really enjoy training legs. Forever in search of more muscles and #growingabooty🍑 I am positive I will be very sore in the next couple of days. This fitness/health journey has taught me so much. Consistency pays off. Day 151 of 240. 89 to go. Trained the whole body today. I am so glad this week is over. Today I dragged my butt to the gym 😖😴. Tired and just wanting to be lazy. But I know better and I will get to rest tomorrow. Plus today is the last lifting day of the week and I wanted to get it done. I had some negative thoughts this morning and I had remind myself that though I have experienced a lot of physical/superficial changes. There are changes that are more important (no longer diabetic, hp gone, crossing my legs, going up stairs without thinking that I might die, and no longer in so much pain). Sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves (I know I can be) that we forget to see the whole picture. To see the little things that make a bigger picture. I realized that I need to be gentle with myself and sweeter with my thoughts. See the bigger picture and celebrate my hard work. Day 148 of 240. 92 to go. Today was a leg day and I love ❤💞 leg day. I trained hard and pushed myself. I really recommend weight lifting. It makes me feel powerful and strong. It sure has changed my body composition so much and I am so happy that I can and get to lift. Funny thing is I don't have to work out. I am not forced to work out. I CHOOSE to do it because I love to lift. Forever in search of strength, muscle and moving heavy weights. But my love for lifting is no new. I used to do olympic lifting, powerlifting and lifting in general when I was trying to get smaller. The only difference now is that I am not doing it because I am on a 60 day diet or because I am motivated. I am doing it as a lifestyle change. Eating well, moving my body and resting are not short term goals. They are lifestyle changes for me. I give thanks that I found @lesleyslifestylehabits and I am able to learn from her. But these changes require for me to work on so many things. Require me to get deep into feelings. And sometimes these feelings are hard to deal with. They bring up hurt. They pushed me to beyond what I thought was possible. So I am forever grateful to have a safe space and to have wonderful support @gorditafitrd. Everyone is going through struggles so let's remember to be kind. And especially kind to ourselves. Cheers to working on ourselves. Day 146 of 240. 94 to go. I usually rest on Sundays but my week will be very busy. So I decided to do some cardio and legs today. I really enjoy training legs #forevertryingtohrowa🍑 I had lots of fun and as a bonus the gym was literally almost empty. All precautions are always taken but this allows me to relax a bit more since hardly anyone was there. Funny how you see the same pople working hard on their fitness. I always remember what @lesleyslifestylehabits says that working out is important but eating well is more important. It is literally 80% of this whole process. I try my best to eat well most of the time. It is process but I am not quitter. I get up and do better if I encounter a bump along the way. It helps that I am blessed with amazing people and support on this journey @gorditafitrd. I do not feel alone. I feel blessed and highly favored. Day 138 of 240. 102 to go. Today's routine was a whole body one. I had a blast working out today. I even got to use the hip thrust machine. I even had a lady at the gym approached me and complimented me on my happy gym attitude, my outfit (😂😳) and my little happy dance I break into when I am at the gym. The routine felt easy peasy for me @lesleyslifestylehabits I always get a bit scared when there are a lot of jumping squats due to my knees but I was able to do the whole routine and pain free. Day 125 of 240. 115 to go. Today's walk was short since it started to rain. I love ☔ days. Something about listening to the rain that calms me. Days like this remind me of a fall day in NYC. Autumn/Fall is my favorite season. Here in SFL we do not get much of it but I do miss that from NYC. Today's lifting was upper body and I really enjoyed it. The cardio kicked my butt I thought I was going fast but ✔ in 15 minutes. Will do better next time. I am just beyond blessed that I get to work out and move my body in ways I never thought possible. I highly recommend @lesleyslifestylehabits and @a_slimmer_fox programs. It is amazing how working on your fitness and health can make you feel better overall. Day 104 of 240. 136 to go. Had an amazing walk this morning. Enjoyed the sunrise and cleared my head. It is really so beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend it. 💥😍 Then I did my at home lifting routine. Oh my goodness @lesleyslifestylehabits is not playing games. My legs are still shaking. It was an awesome leg day home work out and the cardio was so intense. I am really truly amazed at what my body can do. Working out has given me confidence and power to tackle any obstacle. Day 65 out of 240. 175 to go. Had a nice run and walk in the park today. Parks are also closing down in SFL until May 16th at least. Times are scary and I craved some normalcy. Yet, I have some many things and people that I am thankful for. I am thankful for my job that allows me to bring my son to work. Thankful for my amazing co workers who have gone above and beyond to make sure we are all safe. Thankful that my parents, friends, family and the amazing ladies from my support groups are safe. Friends know how much I love going to the gym and they have checked to see if I need anything. I know have access to so many cool cardio workouts. Thanks to @yanira.raez. it warms my heart and all this support makes me feel loved and that I am certainly not alone. So I am ready to do home work outs. Ready to keep on and learn from all of this. I prayed hard last night when I found myself anxious and over thinking. I felt at peace after praying and I will trust that everything will be okay. I will follow the home workouts from my strength program from @lesleyslifestylehabits and @a_slimmer_fox and will make sure that my nutrition is on point. Day 59 out 240. 181 to go. Today I had a hard time waking up. I still showed up for myself but I was feeling kind of blue. Just feeling my feet dragging through the work out. Today's was an upper body day plus cardio. And I had to do stairmaster which is for me a literal mountain to climb #😢💔. I managed to do all of it. At the last minute decided to take some pictures and flex a little to see my progress. And then mid flexing I was giving myself a kind talk. Looking at my progress and realizing that even the hard days are amazing. I get to release some stress and grow some baby muscles. So getting up even on the hard days is a positive step to getting where I want to be. So cheers to consistency and the will power to continue even when it would be so much easier to quit. Day 48 of 240. 193 to go. Slow and steady wins the race. Progress is not made in one day. I have been going to the gym steadily for almost a year now. I see so much progress and I am looking forward to seeing much more. It feels amazing to move my body. Day 45 out of 240. 195 to go. Guess what I trained today? #legs Feeling very lean but I almost did not make it today. I hit the snoozer a couple of times. But I got up and showed up for myself. The alternative is not something that I want. Life throws challenges my way and dealing with them is hard. However, I have learned that I need to always show myself the commitment and love I show others. I deserve it. I am a vessel for goodness. Day 44 of 240. 196 to go. This whole week has been a struggle to make it to the gym. But I have shown up regardless and I have worked hard on my workout routines. Turns out that discipline is what has gotten me 5 times to the gym this week. I made it today but I prayed harder than ever this past week asking God for the push and discipline to make it. I will rest this entire weekend. I will be taking two rest days. I need them. And it is okay to disconnect as a form of self love and self care. Why did I still go this past week when I really did not want to? Well because I know how it feels to carry an extra 130 pounds on my 5 foot 4 inches body. It was hard and I felt all kinds of ways. I felt slow, in pain, literally used to limp since the extra weight was so hard on my body. I used to have to take 17 different medications (diabetes, hp, sleep apnea, joint pain, PCOS, acid reflex, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, among other things). So discipline is needed in order to keep on developing the habits I need to do better to take care of my health. This is all new territory for me but I am willing to put in the work so I can be here for my wonderful family and friends. Be kind to myself is also part of this new way of thinking. I can be extra hard on myself but I am practicing kinder, sweeter words in order to lift my spirit and be my own cheerleader. "Discipline is doing what you know needs to be done even if you don't want to do it." Adjusting my crown and feeling blessed. So many blessings.
