Thanksgiving may have passed but Turkey is still waiting for a furever home through Rochester Animal Services along with his friends Arizona and Akim. Turkey is an incredibly friendly boy who loves to get treats and give kisses and hugs in return. He has no problem shaking his tail feathers aka wiggle butt for some love and snacks! His girlfriend Arizona has the floppiest ears and wishes it was warmer weather like her namesake. She will take the cold though if it means finding her forever. Akim is a young boy- very friendly, on the smaller side and really gorgeous. Right now the adoption fee is $50 and some pups don't even have an adoption fee. This is Goose, we made the decision to feature him again today for #shelterdogsaturday because after last weeks video and almost a million views, no one showed up at @andersoncountypaws_sc to adopt him. All of our shelter dogs (25) that we have featured have been adopted, and in the past if one hadn’t been adopted in a week we would still feature a new one, but we love Goose and want to focus on getting him out of the shelter. This series is about making a change, not cranking out videos for views. Goose was abandoned by his owner and then brought into the shelter. On our day out he was playful, curious, gentle, and such a funny pup. He sat directly at our feet while we ate and waited patiently for his chicken taco. #ShelterDogSaturday looks a little different today. We are in the midst of an extreme heatwave in the upstate of South Carolina and experiencing temperatures around 100 degrees. We didn’t want to take the chance bringing a dog out into this heat and having something happen. As a result, we headed to @greenvillehumane and spent some time with Gimli. Gimli is a 1 year old Staffy mix and has been in the shelter for months. He was dumped after his previous owners decided they no longer wanted him, for no apparent reason. We spent some time with Gimli and he was very well mannered, playful, and seemed to have a great temperament. Wervy, our last #shelterdogsaturday pup has officially been adopted. He went into a foster-to-adopt as soon as the video was posted, but it was made official yesterday! We’re probably not going to do an episode this week as it’s going to be 99 degrees today, and 101 tomorrow. We don’t want to take a dog around in that heat for their sake. We may do a picture or something, so stay tuned!
