All in a span of a couple of years, I ended a marriage, survived a lockdown, my kids flew the coop and I was staring at midlife thinking “now what”?? Gut punch. That “now what” became something beautiful. #Midlife does not have to be associated with unwelcome changes and stagnation. You are not over the hill – you’re actually at the top of it! Imagine what it could be like to have a newfound purpose, and rather than mourn your lost identity as a mom and a spouse – you’re living a life with gusto and independence… Imagine what it could feel like getting up each morning and instead of drifting into a void of idle purposelessness for the day, you had clarity and focus…. Instead of hanging on to the social groups you had naturally formed through couplehood or kids’ sports – you could be part of an incredibly supportive and successful community of likeminded people... It’s been suprisingly rewarding to flex muscles I didn’t know I had, to grow as a person more than I did in the decades since my 20s, to dive deep into getting my mindset healthy. Today is the day we say goodbye to Darlings Downunder after 12 years of having the privilege to be able to talk cloth nappies for a living. Darlings Downunder gave us the opportunity to work with our passions, to learn soooo much about running a business (so many skills we would never have otherwise!), and to support our families in a way that meant we could be there for our children when they needed us. It meant we expanded our relationship beyond that of sisters, to business partners and collaborators in this adventure. Is it OK to have a gap at the front waist of a cloth nappy? It is absolutely fIne to have a gap at the front of the nappy when bub is lying down. In fact, you usually should! Unlike our nappy bottom here, when bub sits up, the belly will drop and will fill the gap. If the waist doesn’t have a gap when bub is lying down, then it might be too tight when bub is upright.
