This one may not save you money, BUT it does save loads and loads of single-use plastic that's incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to recycle. Why waste plastic that lasts thousands of years on something you're using literally for 10 minutes to carry your groceries? Also, these bags don't rip open on you if you put more than 2 items in them 🍎🛍️ . A big place where you CAN save money... Can we go back to the days when Macklemore got everyone excited about thrift shopping?! And can we please #ENDFASTFASHION ?! It's so important to start being more conscious and informed on clothing purchases. Them we've some bamboo Q-tips (but there's a non Q-tip option in the ear cuvette set from @etereautyofficial from an earlier post that actually scrapes and catches any earwax instead of just pushing it in like cotton swabs and then rinse clean!) And I am looooooving these plastic-free lip deodorants from @papercosmetics!! 👐🏻 And last we've got handkerchiefs from @lastobject, that are soft and washable, and come in this handy silicone pack that's easy to keep in my purse, and make it easy to stow away the dirties. And these great and sturdy bamboo bandages from @patch . A more personal topic that I'll happily answer any private questions about is feminine products. Fuck making this taboo. If you've got a uterus and you bleed, this one is for you! I'll admit, the menstrual cup is a bit odd for the first month or two, but after nearly 4 years of using a cup, @shethinx, and reusable pads, I am never EVER going back to wasteful, single-use, disposable tampons and pads again!! The fact that I ever swam in the lake with a tampon is vomitous 🤮 not to mention no TSS risk with the cup! Makes my work day super easy and worry-free! And @shethinx Air panties and period shorts are an absolute lifesaver as a runner and cyclist! Again, I'm open to all and any questions, I am an open book, because I have saved soooooo much money on this switch alone (I haven't paid for menstruation products in about four years minus the special running shorts), and have reduced so much single-use plastic and it just feels so much better! 💚🌍
New rules on plastics in the EU to be implemented by 2030 ✍️ . A deal has been passed in the EU to eliminate plastic packaging on fruit and vegetables, require to-go restaurants to allow customers’ private cups and containers, and forbid hotels from using small plastic bottles for shampoo, etc. . The EU calls it a historic deal, and I know my friends will ask me to acknowledge these small victories. However, I must also highlight the lack of ambition in this deal. Six years to implement these tiny changes? Really! Moreover, the deal still allows for single-use packaging and the coffee-to-go-cup, that I can never learn to accept. We not only need to reduce plastic use but also cut down on single-use packaging overall. So while we celebrate, we must continue to push for more. Let’s not sit back and wait for politicians to accelerate these changes. As consumers, we must take charge. It’s not ideal, but it’s necessary. In my mind, everyday is Earth Day but today is the day to remind everyone about Mother Earth. Take care of her, if you don’t how can she take care of us? The truth is, we can’t thrive if Mother Nature doesn’t thrive. Maybe today you can commit to stop using straws, drink fewer beverages that come in plastic containers, start composting, pick up garbage when you see it, be responsible for your waste, grow some of your food instead of getting it shipped to you, shop local instead of global…the list goes on and on! One of the things I knew I could work on was to drink less packaged beverages..and I have cut out pop completely. This reduces the amount of waste I produce, yay!! I also don’t use straws because I am capable of picking up my cup. What is one thing you can do today to not only celebrate Earth Day but also to take care of Mother Nature? 🌎 🌍 🌳 🌺

Finally after many failed attempts 😅 I did solo travel to Dzükou with the best travel agency @travespert & my mind totally stopped because of its Beauty. This masterpiece reminded me once again of the God I serve. How great is our God! With the list of Good things of this marvelously enchanting place yet it was such a sad sight to see that many Hikers/Trekkers leave all their trash behind which literally is spoiling the beauty & value of this beautiful place. As trekkers/Hikers let us be a responsible individuals and atlest carry our own trash bags to collect & keep our trash and throw it in the dustbins after trekking down. If we continue to throw/leave our trash, our children's & grandchildren might never see the beauty of it. If we don't take care of our environment, note that it's us who will have to face the consequences! The change should start from me & you. Like always I carried my own trash/garbage bags to collect all my chocolates wrappers,tetrapacks, papers etc which I used during my Trekking & brought it back and gave in the garbage collection site. Also the authorities should be more Vigilan of the trekkers going to Dzükou. They should also limit the number of Tourist visit permonth so that the environment is not damaged. It's so disturbing & disheartening to see many plastic bottles, wrappers(sweets, chips etc) in every corner of the valley. The ocean covers over 70% of the earth + is responsible for regulating the climate, feeding a large portion of the world (humans/animals/plants) + is home to the world’s largest vegetative biome - kelp forests! 🌿💙The ocean is truly incredible. And right now she is struggling!! Between human pollution, coastal ecosystem decline, increased ocean acidification and warming waters, the ocean is being pummeled on all sides. HAPPY EARTH MONTH! 🌍 . Time for my annual (recycled ♻️) photo dump to show easy ways to eliminate single use plastics at home, to help both the environment and your wallet! . STOP WASTING MONEY, PLASTIC AND SPACE ON SINGLE-USE SHAMPOO BOTTLES. 🧖🏼♀️The first ingredient in shampoo, conditioner and body wash, shave cream, and face wash bottles is just water, and it's not needed! These bars concentrate the important ingredients you need, and you add the water in the shower, and they last soooo much longer! They also take up less space, so wins all around! My favorite shampoo and conditioner come from @ethiqueworld and @zerowastestore. My favorite face wash and shave bars come from @pompeiistreet. And my favorite soaps are any I can find local and handmade 💚 Put these with a wash cloth, or even a natural loofah, to replace those horrible plastic shower floofs, and you've got a plastic-free shower routine 🚿 . My husband and I also both switched to fully steel Leaf razors that use ZERO plastic, plus a shave bar to go with them, and a new dermaplane, and they work amazingly!! And the single blades end up being way cheaper than replaceable blades on a plastic razor. I can't say enough good things about @leafshave 🪒 . We've also got some other plastic-free haircare, and I've also included the TP and tissues we use from @whogivesacraptp, plus my reusable face wipes from @marleysmonsters, and ear cleaner set. This saves soo much money not having to buy new stuff every 2 months, and saves so much space! I can fit my entire shower routine in one stack in my hand! Both of our full showers fit on a standard showerhead rack. Never going back to wasteful single-use bottles of any of this stuff again ✌🏻
