Sunset paddle boarding just before the full moon! 🌼🌊🌕☀️🌊🌼 I still can’t get over the pure blissful energy that is Folsom Lake.. it’s green rolling hills bespeckled with wildflowers.. it looks like a painting and feels like a dream!! I often find myself venturing that way for solitude and ✨me time✨ such a darling place to be completely unbothered.. The more I explore the wilderness the more aware I become of my surroundings and really tune into what nature has to offer.. a few unique experiences caught me by surprise.. first was the notable amount of times a large fish would leap from the lake’s depths and plop loudly back down into the water below. I heard it happen a multitude of times, but witnessed it only 3. Nonetheless it was a first for me and each time it was just as satisfying.. as the late afternoon turned into the evening I was greeted by the moon, as it rose higher into the sky, I was bidding the bright sun it’s farewell, as it was slowly dipping behind the horizon line. I’ve always found a sense of magic at seeing both these stellar celestial bodies in the sky at the same time. As if being witness to their chance encounter. Even as I grow older that feeling never seems to get old.. There were so many sounds and sights playing with my senses as I paddled along.. as the temperature dropped, and the sky turned pastel with it’s decreasing sunlight I listened to the calls of the birds fade into the distance, only to be replaced by the chirping of crickets and croaking of frogs.. the final melody echoing a sweet release of the hot spring day.. I enjoyed a hike back up to my car, feeling fortunate for the pre-full moon light guiding my way. I was sunkissed and calmed to my very core and had one of the best night’s sleep drifting off with a grateful heart, and my treasured memory mementos of the serene surrounding of the lake.. #thanksforreading #writeyourstory

Every year, I'm faced with the same tough question: whether or not to celebrate--ACTUALLY celebrate--my birthday. I've always chosen not to. 🌸🎀💝 This was my first visit to San Fransisco during spring. I was in high spirits after being greeted by wildflowers, and was overjoyed that these delicate little puffs matched the color of my hair ☺️ I admired their presence upon my arrival, and how unexpectedly they had welcomed me to the trail headed towards the beach. It was almost as if they were delighted to show me the way! The water was immediately down regulating. It’s sound ushering in a sense of calm that only the seaside can ever deliver.. I sat with my eyes closed for awhile, and it felt like I was the only person there. It could’ve been an eternity, but also felt like 5min.. The melody of the waves suddenly transformed into a meditative metronome mesmerizing my nervous system and with each crash I filled my belly with a deep breath of fresh air. I released my breath with the tempo of the light frothy bubbling of each wave as they dissipated into the sand of the shoreline.. I lost all awareness of space and time. I couldn’t tell where the ocean began or where my sense of self ended. It was a cherished moment that took me by complete surprise, and made my ever increasing love for the ocean evolve once more.. Hello everyone, and welcome to a brief writing update! A few things have changed, from the WIPs I've been working on to my new chosen writing medium, so I thought I'd share them with you! In terms of WIPs, I believe I have mentioned this before, but I have shelved (temporarily) my romance WIPs. I just haven't been feeling them lately, and it's been hard to connect with the main couples and their story. As much as I hate to say it, it's been a bit of a drag writing for them. So, for now, I'm putting them away, but I will be returning to them later when the time feels right In regard to the actual writing itself, I'm unfortunately still struggling to get into that daily writing habit, but I'm writing more than I did two weeks ago, which is a good sign! I'm hoping to end up with a higher monthly wordcount in April, even if it's just by 1k words. I would also like to add, even though I have been struggling with writing, I am absolutely IN LOVE with the WIPs I'm working on: the White Blossom rewrite and Raven's Requiem. I've had so much fun rediscovering Kanna and her friends as a character, and Elidi has been an amazing MC to get to know in Raven's Requiem. It'll be YEARS from now, but I am so excited to share her story with you! I've also decided to go back to my roots! Meaning, I've gone back to hand-writing my stories, at least for now. If you follow my stories, you'll know I decided to continue writing my current WIPs in my journal whenever things were slow at a recent craft show, and I ended up writing approximately 2k words! I decided to hand-write again, and it was so slow and relaxing and just serene. I believe this will help me get out of my writing slump and make it fun again, so I'm going to stick with it for a while. It also just made me remember how much more intimate it feels to write with pen and paper. It just feels better ☺️ That's all for this little update! My day with the eclipse was spent chasing waterfalls and frolicking with wildflowers 🌼💦🌚☀️🌝💦🌼 Energetically I could feel that my system wanted solitude during this solar eclipse. Much of the past year, committed to my sober journey, has included a deep sense of getting to know myself while limiting the impact or influence from too much of society around me.. and while I understand it is impossible to remain completely unaffected by the outer-worldly busy stimuli, I still find a deep resonance in knowing when to immerse into my very own being. The eclipse weekend felt very much like one of those times. What a shocker that nature was what called to me.. I hiked around for several hours, taking long breaks to soak up the sun, journal, and to listen to nature.. This cosmic dance between the sun and the moon, while our earth maintains it’s trustworthy orbit, was thought provoking; Just as these celestial bodies magically move and mix around one another, what is their significance on the way that the earth, and all of its inhabitants perpetuate? And who/what/when/why/and how am I a part of it?!! It made me think deeper on the lessons of alchemy. What am I currently magically mixing and manifesting. How am I using my energy. What am I pouring it into. Who am I choosing to be on a daily basis, and what impact it has on the bigger picture that is cognizantly and creatively becoming my story?!! When am I confidently responding to what is in alignment, and recognizing through discernment when something no longer contributes to my higher good? This is the art and the balance of knowing when to hold on, and when to let go. We are powerful beings beyond our wildest imagination. Our ability to alchemize our truth stems from a deep understanding that we truly do create our own reality. It stems from our choices of thought, our response to our emotions and feelings, who we choose to spend our time with, what we choose to spend our time doing, and what we FEED our mind, our body, our spirit! Hello everyone, and welcome to another mini book review on a debut novel by the wonderful @gemmaasummers_author. I had the wonderful opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book, and I absolutely enjoyed it! Wings of Redemption follows the first-person point of view of 16-year-old Ariana as she suddenly finds herself transported from her abusive family to the magical and mysterious world of Eloria. Closely following her personal story, the book provides her character development in great detail as she heals from being victim of very violent domestic abuse Surrounding the sweet and observant Ariana are a number of characters, such as three dragons that can communicate telepathically, a two-faced high lord, parents who shouldn’t be parents, and a group of diverse characters who all share a common goal of keeping Eloria safe from dark beings trying to dominate it. All of these characters live within a world that's just as beautifully diverse, with differing landscapes and creatures from dragons to winged fae people to individuals with animal-like characteristics and more! While I loved reading this book and all the plot twists that came with it, there was one thing that really poked at me during my experience. While the writing and descriptions of characters and settings were stunning, there was also a lot of it. At times, I found myself zoning out a little bit while a room was being described in great detail, and I found myself wanting the story to move forward a number of times while reading. But if you like a lot of description, this book would most definitely be for you! I also have a few trigger warnings. The depictions of domestic abuse are some of the most physically, mentally, and emotionally violent that I personally have ever read in a book. I finally made it to Folsom lake, without any intent of going! I set off on a new to me trail without any knowledge that this beautiful lake, in all of its glory, was waiting just below the hill top I was cheerfully exploring!! Upon my ascent, I was delighted to be greeted by the horizon, with the bluest of waters in stark contrast to the tall green grass I found myself standing in… At this sight, my cheery disposition suddenly became full of awe, and the sheer size of this valley, rolling so far beyond the distance, reminded me of my tiny and delicate place in this world.. after some moments of breathing in what this picturesque landscape had shown me, I set off again, with the lake by my side.. the next meadow over was sprinkled with various wildflowers and speckled with copious amounts of butterflies, causally fluttering from one bloom to another doing what they did best.. suddenly my tiny, delicate place in this world felt much more grand in comparison.. as the butterflies busily buried their heads, giving tender kisses to their flower companions, I thought about all the metaphorical flowers in my life that I am currently and consistently pollinating. Whether it be friendships, my career, my health, my hobbies, reading, writing, studying etc. I felt so sedately satisfied with the goings-on in my life. And even though sometimes I feel an urge to rush the process, my tiny butterfly friends reminded me that patience while trusting the process is the most sure way to get wherever it is that I am going, all the while enjoying the scenery along the way!! I am so grateful for my afternoon spent wandering these hills and meadows.. At the top of my heart’s desired manifestations are these magical moments where I am engulfed by nature and downloading these little messages from my encounters with birds, and bees, flowers, and trees.. What a peaceful place to find a swing.. How grateful I am for humans leaving treasured items for others to stumble upon and enjoy.. 💚🌿👣🌿💚 I sat here swinging for the better part of the afternoon, marinating in all the sensations. Finding such pleasure in this uncomplicated past time from childhood. So, it's been 6 weeks since I started on my path back to independence, and started a Go Fund Me to help me purchase the mobility aids I need to get back out there and live my life. So I thought I'd provide a little update on things. So far, through my Go Fund Me, direct donations from friends and family, as well as a couple of charitable organisations, we've raised enough to order my custom wheelchair. @motusmedical are coming out next week to measure me up for it, (I am so excited for this!!). I really can not thank you enough for all your help, be it donating or just sharing my story. I have decided to make up a flyer, in the hopes that this will be easier for people to share, and be more engaging🤞I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could share it on any social media they have. In my never-ending quest to purge and organize Blue Tortoise headquarters, I now present the jewelry purge. Remember like 8 years ago when I got caught up in stamped jewelry? No, oh ok 🤣 Well let me fill ya in 👇 I thought metal jewelry stamping looked cool. I bought lots of supplies and made all the things. I still think it's very charming for personalized items. I still have all of my supplies and many many many stamping blanks (hoarder). I sold my stamped jewelry out of a salon in Wickliffe and also out of a Cleveland-themed boutique at Mentor Mall (which ended up closing). I had stamped jewelry bars at my craft shows with different charms to choose from to "design your own jewelry! It was fun! I stamped and stamped and stamped. And possibly over-stamped 🤷🏼♀️ and ended up with A LOT of leftover inventory. I finally went through all the charms and put together necklaces. I gathered up bracelets and other necklaces as well (and earrings, unrelated to stamping). At the April 7th spring craft show at Mayfield High School, I will have these displays set up with necklaces, earrings and bracelets. 🗣️ EVERYTHING WILL BE DEEPLY DISCOUNTED!!! BREAK IS FINALLY HERE!!! This set had actually been finished for awhile, but due to wrapping up college I had to put it on hold in order to get my schedule back in order again!! Now that trapped is almost finished with preparations, I am finally back on track with comic making!!! Hooray!! Out of all the werewolf sets we've done so far, this one is by far my favorite!!! Who knew that a change in color palette could make such a huge difference?? Not to mention the core color being GREEN?? What is happeninG. Break pages are extremely difficult because the environments and texturing is always a little more realistic than trapped, so it poses as a tough challenge. Is this post really late? Yes! And that's because, if I had posted this on Friday, it would've been a lie, because I didn't start internal formatting for Book 4 until yesterday 😂 When I started internal formatting, I remembered why I hate it so much. It's just really tedious and, in some ways, VERY troublesome. Is it my fault for using Microsoft Word and not a software designed to make this process easier like Adobe InDesign? For sure, but this author has the time and determination, just not the willingness to spend the money 🤣 It'll take a while for me to finish this part of the process, but it's probably for the best, because writing has been a bit difficult 😭 BUT I'm also hoping it'll help me ease into it.
