But sometimes when our circumstances are especially difficult, we tend to forget that God is always dependable. That’s why we need to pause periodically to look back over our life and see how He’s provided, guided, and guarded us along the way. Many times over the years, I have been the beneficiary of God’s faithfulness to His Word. For example, Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Despite my lack of Bible knowledge at age 12, I recognized that I was a sinner and called on Him for forgiveness. And He saved me, just as His Word said. There have been so many times when God provided just what I needed. After feeling called to become a preacher, the Lord orchestrated a series of events that led to my receiving a full scholarship for college. Think about God’s faithfulness to you. How has He directed your path and supplied your needs? Good Morning friends and family! Happy Tuesday!! I just thought I would share a little of what was on my heart this morning while having my quiet time with the Lord. The word Sustain has just been my word for the new year! The definition of sustain is: to strengthen or support, but it also has other things like; comfort, help, assist, give strength to, be a source of strength to, be a tower of strength to, buoy up, carry, cheer up, hearten, see someone through. The Lord is there to do all of those things and more if we just lean on him. When I was reading bible today I was encouraged and strengthened just to know that promise of God, which will always give me strength, comfort me, nourish me, build me up, lift me up and rejuvenate me from Isaiah 46:4 (NIV) I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Another version of this verse says: I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. Today’s Devotional, Tuesday, March 24th: Discouraged? (Psalm 55:22) With all that is in the news today, it is easy to find ourselves facing discouragement. Brian Hise of Provo, Utah had his share of difficulty several years ago in July. His apartment became flooded from a broken pipe in the apartment above his and the manager of the building told him to go out and rent a wet/dry vacuum. That’s when Brian discovered that his car had a flat tire. He changed the tire and went inside again to phone a friend for help. But the electric shock he got from the phone so startled him that he inadvertently ripped the instrument off the wall! Before he could leave his apartment a second time, a neighbor had to kick his door down because by now water damage had jammed it too tight to open. While all this was going on, someone stole Brian’s car! But since it was almost out of gas, Brian found it just a few blocks away. He then had to push it to a gas station where he filled up the tank. That evening Brian attended a military ceremony at the university he was attending. He injured himself severely when he somehow sat on his bayonet, which had been tossed in the front seat of his car! Doctors were able to stitch up Brian’s wound but, in the meantime, no one was able to resuscitate four of his canaries who were crushed to death from the wet, falling plaster in his apartment. He discovered their deaths after arriving home and then slipping on the wet carpet in his apartment, badly injuring his tailbone. Brian said he began to wonder if “God wanted me dead, but just kept missing!” Having a day like that can be discouraging. For some, life’s obstacles don’t present themselves over the course of 24 hours, rather they may last over a few weeks, months, and in some cases years. The good thing is that the Bible has encouragement for us when we are going through a difficult season. Psalm 55:22 (NIV): “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Today, let me encourage you to take the cares of today and cast them upon the Lord. Who likes reality? 🙋🏼♀️ . Here’s your real life post for today. These packages and their contents have been sitting around various locations in my house, traveled to Wisconsin and back, and on my to-do list to send out since well BEFORE Christmas!! . Unfortunately, postpartum struggles reared their ugly head a few months into the game. And the outcome is that a lot of seemingly quick and easy tasks can seem monumental and horribly overwhelming. So they sit. . I know so many mamas struggle with this, and it doesn’t always just hit in those early weeks after birth. Postpartum anxiety and depression can hit even a year after birth!!! So if you’re fighting the good fight with me, here’s my encouragement to you. . - Take one day at a time. - On your good days, maximize your potential. - On your hard days, celebrate the little things you get done. - My husband encouraged my to make a list of those things I DO accomplish in a day, and when I look back at it I’ll realize I did better than I thought! I may not slay the day like I did a year ago, but it’s a season and I’ll do my best in it! - Give yourself GRACE. - Talk about it. Maybe our husbands won’t ever fully grasp it, but the more you share with them the more they can support you. - Get some help. My preferred method is natural supplements! But if you need meds, do what you gotta do mama! (Things that are starting to help me are high quality Omegas, D3, Progesterone, Magnesium, Stress RX) Also a healthy diet, sunshine, and even a little exercise! - Get. Out. Of. The. House. If you’re like me and that currently feels overwhelming to do alone, ask someone to go with you. The other night I put the baby and kids to bed, had a bottle ready, and went out by myself. It was only for a short run to TJMaxx and Publix, but it was quiet and mindless and did me so much good! - Above all else, PRAY! The Lord WILL sustain you! This is not permanent. Your body will readjust and you’ll feel normal again. Until then, know you’re not alone! ❤️

News flash: Parenting is hard. #momminainteasy 😭 Up until recently, I thought I was going to be “that Mom, with that kid.” What you hold in your mind on a consistent basis, is exactly what you will experience if you don’t decide to change it. Growth comes from leaning into the struggle and requires #perseverance, #determination and quite frankly —giving it all to Him— to work through it. Because, guess what.... contrary to what you might believe life isn’t always unicorns and rainbows for me. I’m a glass half full, enteral optimist kind of person 99% of the time and that flows through my posts here probably —99% of time.🙃 But I have my moments. Moments where I cry. Moments where I STRUGGLE, and moments where I feel like a bad mom. Moments when my honest truth flows from my pain and it never lands on social media. But I’ve felt the nudge more than ever to speak the words my heart has been holding inside and share my “story.” I have strong-willed child. She has a push to her that my other two children do not have. She knows what she wants and she will do whatever it takes to get it—there is absolutely no distracting her or redirecting that desire. She tests limits, she pushes boundaries, she throws temper tantrums, she challenges me in everything. She exhausts me. Parenting a child like her is not easy for me. As her mother I often find myself locked in a battle of wills with her, and it never ends well. I yell, she cries, I cry, she yells. All because I told her she couldn't do something that she wanted to do. Or because I’ve asked her to do something relatively simple that she did not want to do. Give her choices they say. Nope. Choices don't work, because her choice is always what she wants. And she KNOWS what she wants. Did I mention it's exhausting? I know that someday she will be an amazing adult who will do some really amazing things in her life. But for now she is 5 and my husband and I are the ones who have to help her become that amazing adult.❤️ So... y’all.. I say this because WE ALL go through stages and ages! Whether you choose to be vulnerable and share it or not. I’ve learned and experienced ... it’s super healthy to talk about it!
Good Morning friends and family! We made it to Friday! I just thought I would share a little of what was on my heart this morning while having my quiet time with the Lord. The word Sustain has just been my word for the new year! The definition of sustain is: to strengthen or support, but it also has other things like; comfort, help, assist, give strength to, be a source of strength to, be a tower of strength to, buoy up, carry, cheer up, hearten, see someone through. The Lord is there to do all of those things and more if we just lean on him. When I was reading bible today I was encouraged and strengthened just to know that promise of God, which will always give me strength, comfort me, nourish me, build me up, lift me up and rejuvenate me from Isaiah 46:4 (NIV) I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Another version of this verse says: I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. Isaiah 46:4 (NLT) I pray today you feel His strength, His power that lifts you up, sustains you and rescues you. May He stoop down from on high and wrap His loving arms around you like a blanket. Keeping you warm and safe in Him. 💗 Happy Friday Everyone! #thelordwillsustainyou
