Have you, or are you going through a situation that is so hot and you feel like it’s burning you🥵? On many occasions we feel like we are going through a fire🔥 and have no hope of coming out alive. That is when God comes with His comforting words that you will not burn or be set ablaze😊. The best example we have of going through the fire is the story of three Hebrew men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. These three men were put in a furnace, seven times hotter, because of refusing to worship an idol set up by Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. The king had them thrown into the furnace but instead of burning, he noticed there were four people in the furnace. He was perplexed and noted that the fourth one looked like the Son of God (Daniel 3:25). Nebuchadnezzar had recognized the divine presence of Jesus in the furnace. #jesusiswithme // I don't want to start breaking into a #biblestudy mode here and start explaining everything to you. I am sure, if you have been a Christian, or share a similar faith in God, would've come across the story of Daniel and his fellow compardres. The story of how the King Nebuchadnezzar was so angry at that them he decided to throw them into the furnace. . But more than that, he also ordered that the furnace be "7 times hotter than usual". When I meditated on this passage today, I felt reminded about the recent challenges, the trials and tribulations that I have been experiencing lately and what it all meant for me. . When I thought about the furnace and how much of a danger it poses to both Daniel and his friends, it really is a dangerous situation. The furnace, the fire, the heat, they are all real and if this was a normal situation, they would almost certainly like those guards be burned to death. . But yet they didn't. They came out fully intact without a single scratch on their body!? How is that even possible right? . Well, it is possible if you have God by your side. It is possible if you are walking with Jesus. When I thought about the furnace, and what Daniel had experienced, I feel reminded of how Jesus is always with us. . Even when we are going through a situation in our lives that very well could be dangerous, threatening to us in some ways, this is a reminder that if we are doing something for His glory, if we are walking according to His will, and if we choose to rely upon Him instead of our own understanding and strength, he will never allow us to get hurt in the process. Like Daniel, not a single scratch. . That is how amazing God and Jesus Christ is. I think, after everything I have been through this past two weeks and even before that, is a reminder that Jesus is ALWAYS with me. It’s ok to not be ok but you will be ok I admit I’m not ok but that doesn’t mean I will be.This past month,the beginning was great, after it’s been hard,life’s been coming down,and I saw I am under the body weight I should be but lower than the last time,trying to figure out what went wrong,where I messed up,if I really relapsed but now I’m seeing you never fully know when you relapse it just happens unknown now but I’ve noticed when my world is so out of control that’s the only control I got,I’ve had friends who’s walking in the fire and I’m not there with them which sucks(live in other parts of the states),my fire is getting harder and you don’t see what’s behind the scenes but there’s day where I just want to crawl into bed and just stay there, there’s days where I need to be alone and just cry out to God and ask “why God?” “Why am I seeing this and not there?,I thought this was going to happen,why isn’t this working?”. I know some people out there,there not ok but they act and try to feel ok,I’m one of those people.But I admit and I hope and pray you finally say it,even if it’s to yourself, “I am not ok”.But you have to say after “I am not ok”, “but I will be ok”. The key word is “will”, that means even if right now I’m loosing faith,hope and trust in God,it says I want to though,and God will answer and give you the Faith again, give you the Hope again,give you his Trust again.Better days Will come even if you and even I don’t see it now.Even if your about to throw in the towel,you know what God will throw it right back to you and say “not yet,your not giving up, hold on I got you”(been here). Victory, justice,joy are coming even if you don’t see it now,you will and I will.I admit “I am not ok, but I Will Be Ok” and”you Will Be Ok also”, your not alone in this fight God is your Hope, Peace,Faith,Rest,extra.If you say “but I Will Be Ok” give no one the right to pity you or feel sorry because that’s not what it means,it’s expressing that your not ok but you know who God is and Will do.I’m talking to the ones who’ve been hiding,who’ve lost hope,who’s about to throw in the towel,that’s who I’m talking to saying your not alone.God is there.Go to him.

Maybe you have been knocked over by water at the shoreline of the beach, or in a very fast river. This is to say to show, sometimes momentum can really overwhelm us. Especially momentum in events and responsibilities playing out in front of us and around us. An example that came to mind was here recently there were a lot of people in my life either dying from cancer, starting treatment for cancer, struggling within treatment for cancer that didn’t seem to be working and even a very close friend very early in the diagnosis process, like I experienced at the beginning of the year. This was all very overwhelming to me. It was layered on top of my struggle with isolation for soooooo long. I process things, including grief, better with others, in relationship, in community. This is so restricted right now. So, since I don’t get to do that so much right now, I hold on tight to the words in today’s verse. The faithful presence of Jesus in my life, the Holy Spirit ministering comfort to me, the Lord God meeting me daily in my study of his word, I am not alone, He is there loving me, steadying me when the waves want to knock me down, protecting me when the fire of life wants to consume me and break me down to ashes. I come out somehow not even singed, but I smell the smoke. In 2015 when I crossed this bridge, I had no idea the lyrics in the song that was playing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had just moved to Northern California and was in the middle of my divorce. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The last time I'd been on the Golden Gate Bridge was in 2005 when I ran across it in a half marathon. That, in and of itself, was a very spiritual experience as the bridge was engulfed in deep fog, and I could only see the grandeur of it a little at time. I listened to worship music in my headphones and literally felt like God was transitioning me from one thing to another. And I didn't even know at the time that bridges represent "transition".⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I didn't really sense that transition happen until I moved to NorCal in 2015. On this day trip to San Francisco, in the midst of my divorce, I crossed that bridge again, and later realized the lyrics that played.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "In the fire ... I will not be overcome"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ God was with me in my fire. And he is with you in yours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That day most definitely marked a MASSIVE transition in my life. Toward my greater destiny. REALLY hard. 😫⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But whatever "fire" you're walking through, it is a season. It has an end. And he is right there beside you through all of it. He sees every tear. God cried out to his people to turn back to him through Isaiah over and over again. He told them of their impending doom and exile if they did not repent from worshipping false gods and come back to him. God loved his people so much he was filled with holy jealousy for them. He could not allow them to run away after things that would only destroy them. So he gave them warnings, tastes of hard time and constant calls through the prophets to return to him or be destroyed. But because of God’s love he also promised a day when his people would return and he would be their God again. And he would tell them of this precious day through his prophets too! In this passage God is foretelling the rescue and return of Israel in the end. His people as a nation coming home spiritually and physically to him. He tells them not to worry because he has ransomed them, he knows them by name and they are his. He explains that no matter what they go through, no matter how far they are he will rescue them and bring them back home. Through flood, raging sea and flame, God will be with them. They will not be consumed. While we are not Israel, we too have been adopted by this same loving Father, the God of the universe. These same principles of rescue and bringing us home to him are open to us. There is nothing that God will not be with us through, no roaring waters, no white hot flame he cannot handle. We will not be consumed because our God is with us and all things will now before him! Let’s take all our junk before him and bow in worship before our magnificent God who cares so much he carried out the greatest rescue plan ever conceived just for you and me!
