Tag 10: Ruhetag in Portomarin. Heute ist unser Ruhetag in Portomarin. Einem verschlafenen Dorf mit 2 Hotels und einem Hostel am Jakobsweg das nur durch die durchreisenden Pilger am Leben erhalten wird. Es regnet den ganzen Tag. Wir reparieren und warten die Räder, waschen unsere Wäsche und beobachten die ankommenden und durchreisenden Pilger. Manche ziehen ihren Rucksack mit einem Rollwagen hinter sich her. Es gibt aber anscheinend auch die Möglichkeit den Jakobswegs im Fullservice mit einem Reiseveranstalter zu buchen. Ab Santiago mit dem Bus hinaus auf den Jakobsweg Sarria und die letzten 100 km in 6 Tagen zu laufen. Mit Gepäcktransport, Begleitfahrzeug, leichtem Wanderrucksack, vorgebuchten Hotels und Guide in 5-6 Tagen. Ab 4800 € Pauschalpreis, einschliesslich Abschlussveranstaltung in Santiago. Tag 9: Raus aus Santiago oder der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm. Wir sind heute schon bei Sonnenaufgang und 8 Grad losgefahren. Es sind heute fast 100 km geplant und für den Nachmittag ist Regen vorhergesagt. Durch Santiago im Hauptverkehr und dann weiter auf der N 547 einer wenig befahrenen Nationalstraße. Wir folgen dem französischen Jakobsweg in entgegengesetzte Richtung. Viele Wanderpilger sind hier auf Ihren letzten km. Es ist kalt. Der Nebel steigt aus den Hügeln auf. Wir bleiben heute überwiegend auf den wenig befahrenen Nebenstraßen. Zum einen um die Pilger nicht zu verschrecken zum anderen weil der Jakobsweg für Räder nicht überall geeignet ist und auch bei diesen Wetterbedingungen gefährlich werden kann. Zwischenstopp in einem Café in Arzua. Bei einem kurzen Gespräch mit den Einheimischen Gästen ernten wir für unsere Tour zuerst ein ungläubiges Kopschütteln und anschließend werden alle lautstark darüber informiert. 4000 km nach Deutschland, einfach verrückt! So ist es uns bisher oft ergangen. Kann man ja auch nachvollziehen. Ist ja wirklich ein etwas außergewöhnliches Vorhaben. Es ist ziemlich lange trocken geblieben aber dann hat uns der Regen doch noch erwischt. Die letzten 2 Std. im Dauerregen absolviert und dann ziemlich erschöpft in Portomarin einem kleinen Ort an einem Stausee angekommen. Daher auch nur wenig Fotos heute. Tag 9: Santiago de Compostela. Heute geht es nach einem einfachen Restefrühstück nach Santiago. Es sind nur noch 25 km, trotzdem stehen wir früh auf. Wir haben aufgrund der schlechten Wettervorhersage für die nächsten Tage unsere Planung geändert und werden den Ruhetag nicht in Santiago verbringen. Wir nutzen dafür den heutigen Tag. Es ist kalt und wir haben die komplette Regenkleidung an. Gemeinsam mit uns sind viele Pilger unterwegs. Es ähnelt manchmal einer Völkerwanderung. Wir verlassen nach ein paar km den Camino und gehen auf die parallel verlaufende Straße. Wir sind eher eine Belastung als eine Bereicherung für die Wanderpilger. An der Kathedrale holen wir uns unsere Compostela ab und schlendern dann durch die Altstadt und in die imposante Kathedrale das Herzstück von Santiago. Die Stimmung bei den Pilgern ist ausgelassen. Alle sind froh ihr Ziel erreicht zu haben, manche machen aber auch einen sehr erschöpften Eindruck. Tag 8: Tui nach Padron. Die Uhren gehen in Spanien anders. 1 Std. später und damit genau wieder auf unserer Zeit. Dadurch sind wir etwas später losgekommen. Es ist kalt geworden. Start in Tui bei 11 Grad mit allem was wir anzuziehen haben. Heute eher wellig aber dafür fast 100 km. Es geht zurück ans Meer Richtung Vigo. Pause in Paredes an den Salzbecken und dann weiter Richtung Pontevedra. Wir fahren auf dem Jakobsweg, neben dem Jakobsweg und auf der Hauptstraße. Je nachdem was möglich und sinnvoll ist. Viele Pilger sind jetzt mit uns unterwegs. Für die meisten ist es nur noch 2-3 Tagesmärsche bis Sie am Ziel sind. Es sind viele Frauen auf dem Jakobsweg. Alleine oder in Gruppen und aus allen Ländern. Mal miteinander, mal ein paar Meter voreinander oder weiter auseinander. Alle gehen den Jakobsweg gemeinsam. Aber jeder für sich. Den Jakobsweg zu Fuß zu machen ist dann sicherlich nochmals eine besondere Erfahrung. Man hat viel mehr Kontakte und Gesprächspartner und es ist auch deutlich anstrengender. Wir haben echt Respekt vor dieser Leistung. Wir fahren oft schweigend stundenlang hintereinander her. Aber das lässt dann auch ausreichend Zeit sich mit sich selbst zu beschäftigen. Die letzten km fahren wir dann dem Nordwind entgegen. Tag 7: Braga nach Tui und wir verlassen Portugal. Unser Hotel in Braga war etwas schwierig. Restaurant Montags geschlossen, Pool abgeschlossen, Frühstück erst ab 8.30 Uhr und damit viel zu spät für uns. Nach einiger Diskussion haben wir dann ein Sandwich, einen Joghurt und etwas Haferflocken aufs Zimmer erhalten. Immerhin besser als nichts. Um 7.45 Uhr los und direkt in den ersten Anstieg hineingefahren. Heute begnen uns auf Schritt und Tritt Jakobsweg Pilger die wie wir mit dem Rad oder die meisten zu Fuß auf dem Weg nach Santiago sind. Der Ruf “Bon Camino “ erschallt den ganzen Tag. In Ponte de Lima in einem Café Pause gemacht und die erste von 2 außerordentlichen Begegnungen gehabt. Eine junge Frau aus Taiwan alleine zu Fuß auf dem Camino. Sie macht den Weg um Menschen zu befragen was ihr romantisches Erlebnis bisher gewesen sei. Sie will ein Buch darüber schreiben. Wir haben uns lange mit ihr auf Englisch unterhalten und sind dann etwas verspätet wieder aufgebrochen. Über die Brücke hinaus und dann ging es sofort wieder in den nächsten langen Berganstieg. Nach einer kurzen Abfahrt Mittagspause am Fluss letzter Stopp in Valenca mit seiner großen Stadtmauer und Festung auf portugiesischer Seite und dann über die große Brücke aus Portugal nach Spanien nach Tui. Dort haben wir uns für heute in einer Ferienwohnung einquartiert. Und wieder einmal alles richtig gemacht! Unsere Vermieterin ist eine Deutsche aus Düsseldorf. The Camino Pilgrim Passport, also known as the ‘Credencial’, is the modern-day version of the ‘documents of safe conduct’ given to medieval pilgrims and is an essential part of your Camino de Santiago experience. The Pilgrim Passport acts as proof that you have walked at least the last 100km of a route into Santiago, which is necessary if you are hoping to obtain your Compostela certificate, the official testament of your journey. We walked 175 miles which is 282 kms. Pilgrim Passport is something you will take with you as you walk along the Camino de Santiago. The Pilgrim Passport has panels with boxes where you can collect the different stamps along the way.
