Besides meat, the shop has to offer pies and pasties, different types of sweet and savoury snacks, soft drinks, dairy products, baked goodies, great dips/ sauces (the one with garlic caught my eye) and of course, fresh eggs! You already know my whole adventure. 😅 I had a shock last night when Google proved to me that there is a farm with great reviews less than 5 miles away from my home. I was gobsmacked! Today, I went to check it out. This farm deserves two separate posts, 1 about the shop and 1 about the little café next to the shop. P a r t 1 I longed for a sunny day and a cuppa outside in nature. Ask and you'll receive! The cafeteria is small, simple, farm style. You can get paninis, cold sandwiches, pies, ice cream, coffee, tea etc. I bet you won't leave this place thirsty or hungry! 👀 You can be sitted inside or outside. The one outside is close to the parking area OR there are a few wooden tables placed close to the cafeteria on the grass, next to the green fields and the ADORABLE SHEEPS AND LAMBS!!!! GUESS WHO WAS GIVEN A LITTLE LAMB TO CUDDLE?!?! 🐑 🐏 I think based on my excitement, you already figured out who. Omg! My heart, soul, bones and whatever else left simply melted. Today, it just filled me with positive energy and happiness. Fully deserved that! 🫶🏼 Now, back to the foodie talk. It's a homemade mac'n cheese kind of night 🤤 What I usually use for the cheese sauce: At least 2-3 types of cheese I usually have in the fridge. The cheese gets melted with a cube of butter. Then, strictly based on eye measurements, I add milk, cream cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, a tea spoon of dijon mustard and a bit of nutmeg. Keep eating , be healthy 😋 Chicken malai tikka recipe:- Ingredients:- Chicken 1kg Fresh cream 1/2 bowl Dahi 1/2 bowl Ginger garlic paste -2tsp Garam masala - 1 or 1.5 tsp Roasted Cumin powder 1tsp Black pepper 1tsp White pepper 1/2 tsp Chat masla 1tsp Salt to taste Kasoori methi 1tsp Lemon. 1 tsp Green chilli 3-4 nos Coriander leafs 1.5 tsp Mint leafs 1tsp Cornflour - 1tbsp Charcoal to give smoky tasty Method:- In a bowl take dahi ,cream and add all the ingredients written above , finally add chicken pieces . Now take burning charcoal in a bowl and over it add ghee then u could see smoke coming out of it cover it with lid and keep it aside , your marinate is ready. Keep it for rest for about 2-3 hours. Better if u keep it overnight. 2. In a pan add 2 tbsp oil and butter now add the marinate into it and let it cook on high flame. After a while u can easy alot of water in you pan.. Let it cook on high flame. After 10 min. Cover pan with a lid and now cook on low flame for about 20 mins. 3. Open the lid and check if it is does not have excess water . If it has then again remove the lid and cook. 4. When u r chicken becomes tender and u could see the butter on the top switch off the flame . We celebrated John’s birthday at @shucks_glasgow over the weekend, and it has officially become one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow😳🤤 🍴Shucks ⭐️5/5 📍Hyndland, Glasgow We went back home at the weekend, and it just so happened to be John’s birthday on Saturday, so my parents took us to Shucks for lunch to celebrate, and omg it was absolutely GORGEOUS✨ For starters, we ordered: 🦪Pacific oysters with natural, mignonette, and seasonal hot sauce (pic 6). I unfortunately had to opt out of having one on account of the fact I was still feeling fragile from the night before, and was worried an oyster would tip me over the edge, but everyone else said they were incredibly fresh and morish🤝🏻 🧄My mom and I both had the Shetland mussels with garlic, chilli, parsley sauce (pic 4) and grilled bread which was delicious. I need to know what the hell they do to the bread because it was insane😭 🦀John ordered the shellfish chowder with grilled bread and brown crab butter (pic 5) 🐟My dad went for the fresh linguini in a dreamy Arbroath smokie cream served with caviar (pic 3) For mains: 🦞John and I both ordered the Prawn & Lobster Roll (brioche, corn, lango mayo, pickles - pic 1) served with tater tots, which was truly one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Literally heavenly. 🐠My mom had the Sole Meunière (on the bone - pic 2) in a caper, parsley, brown butter sauce with thick Koffman fries, and let me tell you, the smell coming from this dish was incredible. 🥩Dad went for the Steak Frites (sadly not pictured bc I was too busy tucking into my lobster roll lmao) - grilled hanger steak served with fries & pepper sauce which he said was divine. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The interior is beautiful, and as soon as you walk in, you feel right at home🥰 Also, this was the set lunch menu which was only £25 for two courses?! The quality of food for that price was crazy, and I literally couldn’t fault our experience. 🍺 A m b l e s i d e • T a p Y a r d • 🍺 After visiting Ambleside and the surroundings for an hour in heavy rain, we decided we needed something warm - spicy - meaty - saucy. Best place to find such food in Ambleside? @amblesidetapyard ❗️ The place is so cool. Copper shades, leather and wood? Uh, such a nice manly design. Loved it! The menu? Something for everyone. The burgers and pizza I have seen looked really nice. Definitely, on our next visit, I'll indulge more in all the food they offer. This time, we ordered: 🍺1 x Baileys Hot Choc 🍺1 x Kinder Yard Shake 🍺1 x Bad dog 🍺1 x Cheeky Fries Omg! The bad dog was huge and absolutely loaded with deliciousness. Home smoke brisket, american mustard, pickles and mozarella? What's there not to love?! Messy and tasty. That's how we like it. 😉 The cheeky fries contained pulled chicken, mozzarella cheese, buffalo sauce and spring onion. I didn't manage to have much because Andreeas jumped on them and didn't let go! 😆🤣 I was really happy and surprised as he usually isn't a fan of Bufallo sauce, but they were delish . The portions are very generous. I honestly do not know how hungry you need to be to have the hot dog (comes with a portion of fries) alone. 💰: £32 Well spent money. I consider their prices to be affordable, especially considering the portion sizes. Now, I left the service last because it was the only thing that I feel they could work a little bit more at it. We had two gents looking after us. The first one was so warm and friendly. He welcomed us in such a lovely, friendly manner. Then, we had someone else taking our order. I had a request in regards of the hot dog and the waiter's reply took me back for a second. It was quite blunt and not really necessary. It was a bit disappointing, but I didn't let it ruin our experience. I considered it a 1 off, maybe he had a bad day or he tried to make a joke that come out wrong. However, I hope next time when we'll visit, we'll catch him in a better mood. 👀 Do I recommend the place? Yes, I do. The food and drinks- amazing and I am sure the staff are just the same, as we've seen it with the initial staff member that looked after us.
