Russell Crowe though, he is the anchor of the movie & is raising the level of everyone around him. Crowe truly is one of the most magnetic performers you can put on screen. Even in mid/low budget B movies he always gives every role he has a vitality & charisma that just makes him so engaging & a joy to watch. The action was very impressive too, some really big action set pieces that all looked good & filled with tension & energy. The only thing I would have loved more from would have been a bigger cathartic confrontation between Russell Crowes character & his superior officer, I would have loved them to have really gone all in on a very unrealistic, in your face show down where Crowe really put him in his place. I know it wouldn't have been realistic, but boy would have been just incredibly satisfying to watch. All in all though a very good movie that really took me by surprise, much better than I anticipated.
