As I always said, sometimes words aren't enough to describe how you feel about a particular movie. Masaan is one such movie. Although, post pandemic there was a huge rise of praise and admiration for this movie, I wished this movie had gotten the same amount of love when it was initially released. Each and every frame of this movie looks like a pastel colour painting especially some of the landscape shots on the Ganges. It's so surreal that the scenes which portray the trauma of any particular character affects the audience heavily. Whether it is police barging in Devi's hotel room or Deepak's breakdown in front of his friends. For me it was the origin of Deepak's breakdown. The vibes these guys brought to set were IMMACULATE. Their energy, their dedication, and don’t even get me started on their performances. This ended up being a really difficult day shooting, we had a lot of random gear issues and unexpected noises in the world, but these guys rolled with the punches. What could have easily been one of our hardest days was hands down one of the best, BECAUSE of the people we were with. Sorting out chaos and troubleshooting is easier when you’re in good company. TAKE YOUR TIME CASTING, finding the right actors is hard, but WORTH IT. They were all magic, on screen and off. expired film… these are some of the photographs I captured with the new-expired film roll from 2005 that I found in my camera. It was a Kodak film, presumably Ultramax. I was curious to see how the photos might look on a 19 year old film and I love how these turned out! I still have to review the other two film rolls I have, but I can tell that the crave to continue shooting on film is very alive! . .
