Are you conditioning yourself to become more of what YOU ARE NOT in order to get what you think you need or want in life? I've been thinking about ALL OF THE NOT-YOU THINGS that you might do in order to get what you want. (Oh and I am thinking about this because I am seeing all of the NOT-ME things that I am *considering* doing to get what I "need" or want 🥴). And more importantly, WHO DO YOU BECOME doing all of those NOT-YOU things? Oh and also how it seems that in this particular world there is a whole lot of NOT-YOU needed in order to have the Life You Want, right?! gah. Since we are always conditioning ourselves to become more of SOMETHING through our thinking-feeling-doing-believing, you are literally GETTING GOOD at being who you are NOT when you, or I, distort yourself in order to reach that finish line in life. Whatever that finish line might be. Don’t get me wrong, I really do love some rigor in life (I loved it more prior to being 50 tbh) but give me a mountain to climb, a garage to clean, or a project to knock out in 24 hours and if I’m enthused about it, GAME ON! And yet, if I need to BE WHO I AM NOT in order to get what I believe that I want…then who will I be on the other side of that experience? Part of what I guide women into is how to be MORE OF THEMSELVES and drop all of the Not-You junk that keeps you in the land of resentment-annoyance-worry. Had success but found yourself unfulfilled and not as happy as you thought you’d be? It’s likely because you didn’t know and weren’t being your true self. In my case, I had success through achieving but those achievements were the result of me believing I had to get everything right and that I had to prove my worth. Fear was the underlying energy that pushed me. We tie our identity to what we’ve had success in because we are validated for it, accepted and also in some way feel needed and wanted by others. That identity doesn’t bring us happiness. It’s doesn’t bring us fulfillment. Because…that version of success came as a result of us doing what we thought we should and being who we thought we should be. It gave us some results but not what our hearts were truly desiring. The external “success” isn’t what brings us happiness and satisfaction. That is created within us. That comes when we are being who we really are and acting in alignment with that truth. It’s when we are in our hearts and love inspires us forward, not fear. Your version of success, fulfillment and happiness comes with you remembering and being your true self, not being your conditioned/fear driven self trying to protect or prove yourself. Looking at this photo you may see a US Army soldier ready to go and protect her country. What you don’t see is this is a clueless 17-year-old who decided she wanted to leave home and the Army recruiter kept calling so I went. The truth is fighting was/is not on my bucket list. I had no clue what I wanted to do in life. All I knew was I was the oldest of four and ready to spread my wings without my siblings.😜 I had no idea who Sabrina Darlene Daniels was back then. Years later I realized the military was a part of my story that taught me I can do hard things. Leaving home and moving 650 miles was hard and I survived. Qualifying with a rifle was hard and I was a sharpshooter. Bootcamp was hard and I graduated. I learned I can do hard things and it wouldn’t kill me. The military helped shape who I am and my belief in what I can do. I’m on a journey to find the real Sabrina and It’s worth every minute. I would tell my 17-year-old self to keep doing things that are hard and uncomfortable! You’ll be happier in the long run.
