Što mi znači kamen? KONTAKT, BIVANJE, USPOMENE. Kontakt s prirodom, kontakt sa Zemljom, kontakt sa samom sobom. Dodir kamena me vraća u tijelo, u sadašnji trenutak. Potiče me da samo zatvorim oči i BUDEM. Proces nastanka kamena u prirodi zahtjeva vrijeme. S druge strane kamen kao materijal je trajan i bezvremenski. Za mene on ZAUSTAVLJA vrijeme. Kamen kao uspomena, kao podsjetnik na putovanja i neke sasvim obične i male, a VELIKE trenutke. To mu još malo daje na težini, zar ne? Ovo manje kamenje u mom prostoru ima funkcije dekoracije, igračke, stopera za vrata, držača za knjige, postolja za mirisni štapić, vaze za suho bilje… Igram se s njima ja, igra se s njima moje dijete. A uz njih, jedan veliki kamen krasi moju kupaonicu. U dvorištu bez kamena ne može. Volim koristiti kamen kao materijal u prostorima koje projektiram. Volim ga na fasadi, ali i u interijeru gdje prostoru daje posebnu dubinu i taktilne podražaje. Iako na dodir često hladan, prostoru daje toplinu. Kužimo se?

These are game changers, especially when I'm in London. I can instantly remove myself from the chaos and lose myself in music, a podcast, or silence. But just as quickly as we opened our doors, we faced unexpected challenges. The council raised concerns and requested full planning permission, fearing it might turn into a party Airbnb. 😔 Then came the disappointing news—our planning application was denied. Doubts crept in, questioning our efforts. Was it all worth it? Despite the setbacks, we refused to surrender. 💪 With unwavering determination, we rallied support from friends, family, and industry allies who championed our cause for safe sensory spaces. Mental preparation for the changes-to-come is crucial. Preparation reduces anxiety by restoring control. When a neurodivergent person is in the mix, other considerations arise. Some people may have trouble dealing with change, both in letting go of the past, and in embracing the new. Some people may feel an attachment and relationship with “old stuff” which other people would consider mere objects. Here's a room I designed after I was inspired by a talk I heard by Pippa Jameson from The Sensory Home earlier this week on the Interiors Designers Hub, a networking group I belong to for professional interior designers. I thought her talk and the article I've attached below (it's a quick 2 minute read) was really timely and interesting now autumn is fast approaching and we start to lead our lives indoors once more. During this cut we used a handy sensory brush that stimulates the head and allows exposure to the vibrations and sound of that of clippers. My main man here had his frequent cut by me and I always encourage parents/caregivers after the first cut to give themselves grace. First cut, parents told me that it would take more than 2+ hours to cut his hair. We’re now down to 45 minutes with breaks incorporated.
