DATING APPS! 😱OMG WTF? 😳 ~ ~ I had a great conversation with a girlfriend the other day and she told me about the dating app ‘Bumble’ 🐝. I’m a naturally very curious person and she framed it as a womyn empowerment app so I thought I would check it out! Truth be told I’ve never been on a dating sight as its always been easy to meet people. To be transparent I’m really enjoying my solo time and not wanting to be in a relationship, BUT was just super curious after hearing about it. ~ ~ So I jumped on and put the bare minimum info in about myself with this photo. I was looking through photos of men from the ages of 35-80 (80??? I then realized how to change that to be a lower age). I quickly became tripped out by it all. ~ ~ Ok so these men put photos of themselves up, with brief descriptions, their age and obviously positive traits. It’s like a fricken online meat market! 🐄 ~ ~ In my mind I’m wondering, how the heck do you tell how someone is by a photo or two? There is a natural chemistry that occurs when meeting someone. It is not something that you can replicate or deduct from some silly photos?!? ~ ~ Then I wondered about myself. Someone might see my age and automatically disqualify me based on that. Honestly age is all relative. I’ve met people who are much younger who seem older and vice versa. Also, with my health situation WTF do I say? “Woman who has barely escaped death, is regularly covered in animal slime, enjoys dancing with wolves and loves running free with her horses seeks some fun!?! 💃🐎” I mean really, how are you supposed to describe yourself in a few short paragraphs. It’s like a job interview for dating? In regards to my shape shifting look, do I have my braids on or show my short crazy curls? Oh my! 🤔 ~ ~ I spent like 15 minutes on it completely befuddled by it all. Then it said 3 PEOPLE WERE CHECKING ME OUT!! 😳😱😳 OMG! I immediately freaked out and snoozed my account. See ya! I didn’t realize that people could actually see me till then. ~ ~ Obviously I’m very innocent to this. It was an amusing jaunt into the dating world amidst our modern social distancing lifestyle. I think I’ll just keep it at that. I am SO MUCH MORE THAN A PROFILE! 💥🙌🏽 💥
