What a ride! Schnell, intensiv, lebendig.

The 'window of tolerance' is like our emotional comfort zone – it's where we feel balanced, engaged, and resilient. But when we encounter stressors in life, they can push us outside of this window into two possible directions: 🔥 Hyperarousal: When we're in overdrive, our nervous system is in 'fight or flight'. Anxiety, anger, and agitation take over, making it hard to think clearly. In our bodies this may feel like tension, elevated heart rate, sweaty palms, random jolts of energy, or heat. ❄️ Hypoarousal: On the flip side, when we're shut down or freeze, we enter a state of numbness or dissociation. We feel disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. In our bodies this may feel like numbness, fatigue, dullness, dissociation, or limpness. Both of these states are designed to help us navigate back to safety, but issues arise when we get stuck in one of these for prolonged periods of time, as this drains our resources and inhibits connection. The (short version) Why and What of Somatic Practices: Cognitive mindfulness practices can help you understand your feelings and emotional states and enable you to tend to those needs more readily. Similarly, body mindfulness practices will help you identify and tend to your nervous system states more efficiently. My offerings ask you to explore the connection between the mind, body, and heart. Together we learn and create exercises and practices that will help you become more aware of your body's responses. By doing so, you will be able to better perceive the tension and release happening within you. This skill set is especially valuable for those who have felt disconnected from their bodily connection. It's a tool set that can help us reconnect with these threads, honouring our sovereignty.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the U.K. with around 55,500 new diagnoses every year. Of these some 80% will have surgery. As yoga teachers it is the cancer most likely to show up in class This is why in my 10 week course I have a whole module focused on recovery from breast surgery. We are in a great position to support women through their recovery, working holistically to help with range of movement, strength, relaxation, stress management and body confidence. Breast surgery is not just a medical issue. For many women the effects are very personal and emotional and affect how they feel about themselves. Of course yoga is not a miracle cure, but it is more than exercise alone and we also can help provide a space for women to process their emotions and reconnect with their body with some loving compassion. If this speaks to you and you’d like to become a specialist teacher the next cohort begins in September. You can see the full curriculum and apply via the link in my bio. #breastcancer #breastsurgery #mastectomy #lumpectomy #lymphoedema #surgeryrehab #cancerrecovery #breastcancersupport #womenshealth #bodyconfidence #selflove #compassion #somaticpratice #embodiedyoga #yogaforcancer

I feel you. Niemand hat Verständnis für dich. Keiner versteht dich.

Awakenings come in all shapes and sizes. For some, it can mean waking up to the realisation that all is not what you thought it was. For others, it can come as a full-on energetic explosion. Whatever form your awakening takes, one thing is for sure. It will be a confusing time which will bring about a lot of uncertainty. Awakenings require you to let go of your old identity and slowly put together a new one. One that is more authentic and true to you. To do that means we have to sift through layers of trauma and repressed emotions to get to the core of who we truly are. It's a mess process, and there isn't a one size fits all path. But there is a path of least resistance, and that pathway is through somatic work. Awakenings are ungrounding and destabilising. Working with the nervous system gives us a much needed foundation to fall back and catch us during this time. Our physiology becomes our base, and we want that to be solid. We want a good understanding of what is going on inside of us , and we want to build the capacity to deal with all of the changes that are occurring. Regulation gives you that capacity and so much more. If you are awakening and don't know what the hell to do about it. I strongly recommend getting to know the polyvagal theory and getting to know your nervous system. I have a couple of podcast episodes where I go into more detail about my own awakening and how working at a nervous system and somatic level actually saved my life. Check them out! If you are going through an awakening, reach out and let me know how the process is going for you so far. 🙏

I don't want you to see this post and panic thinking that you have to do all of these things every day. That is certainly not my intention. I made this post because many of us think that in order to heal, we have to do big extravagant things, but the reality is, that healing happens during our every day life, in the moments when we're just going about our day. This post is here to give you some simple ideas of ways in which you can support your nervous system within your daily routine. Take what feels good for you and leave what doesn't. Moving your body might look like going for a short walk, or spending time in nature may mean sitting in the garden. You get to decide what healing looks like for you. If I could choose one that I think is the most important, it is to educate yourself on polyvagal theory and learn how you are functioning on a physiological level. Armed with that knowledge, the rest will fall into place! What are you going to do today to help heal your nervous system? 👇 #nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystemhealing #nervoussystemhealth #selfregulation #selfregulationskills #somatichealing #somatics #somaticexperiencing #somaticpratice #innerhealing #attachment #coregulation #traumainformed #embodiedhealing #embodiment #coachingforcoaches #somaticcoaching #traumahealing #fightflightfreeze #nonbinary #polyvagaltheory #somaticexperiencingpractitioner #adhdentrepreneur #orienting #emotionalhealing #emotionalregulation #traumahealing #nature #adhdbusinessowner

Not a lot of people talk about the pain of losing those you love when you're healing. Breaking up with friends is just as hard as breaking up with romantic partners. Often times, letting go isn't because you don't love them anymore, it is because there is no longer alignment in your values. Since I started healing a few years back, my social circle has significantly reduced. I am holding on to the hope that the space i am clearing leaves room for safer and sacred connections to enter into my life. To those I have let go, I love you. To those who are searching for me, I welcome you. With healing comes sadness and loss, alongside growth and empowerment. Ja, was fehlt denn noch?

Friends…the time is finally here. I am officially a certified breathwork facilitators 🥲🙌🏻🤍 I started this journey back in March 2021 and boi what a ride it’s been. Over the lifetime of this certification I have witnessed myself grow, and change in so many ways. Looking back it’s hard to believe that this has only been a year and a half. I feel as if I’ve lived two different lifetimes in the short amount of time. Breathwork has brought so much into my life. It has healed so much and I don’t even know how to express the gratitude that I feel today. Looking back at the person, I was at the start of this journey. I am so incredibly proud of all the healing that I have done within myself. I am incredibly proud of the spaces that I have held. I am incredibly proud of the healer, leader, And guide I’ve become through this. In honor of my journey, I wanted to share a few reflective videos that I recorded during my certification journey. The first video being one of my first sessions as a student, where I experienced my first crazy visual Breathwork session. A few others are points where I have felt such gratitude and proudness for my clients in the growth of they’ve achieved during our time together. It really is such an honor to be a facilitator. I really want to thank my clients for trusting me to guide them on their journeys. For being so open and vulnerable in our sessions. it is through these spaces that I have learned so much and will continue to learn. It is such an honor to be a holder of space in this way, and I am looking forward to where we go from here. #breathwork #breathworkjourney #certifiedbreathwork #facilitatorjourney #somatichealing #somaticpratice

Is a part of you feeling overwhelmed right now? It’s understandable. The world as a whole is experiencing some incredible darkness, and having a sense of burn out and/or a new layer of trauma is valid. We all have trauma to begin with, yes you too, even if we don’t always know initially where it’s coming from. Whether it’s intergenerational, from your developmental years, due to shock trauma, or even ancestral - we carry it with us and hold it within our bodies. I am optimistic as I see more people than ever becoming curious about how they can heal, and what I’m here to offer is a shift in perspective from how we “traditionally” approach healing. Our trauma does not mean we are broken and it does not mean we are less whole. It is so easy to feel as though there is something to fix and most healing modalities focus on that. From my own personal experience and from what I share with my clients, I know that a deeper and more authentic transformation is possible when we learn to experience and pay attention to ourselves from a place of knowing we are already whole. I believe deeply in community and creating support for each other. Especially as I look around at the scale of what we are moving through currently. What I can offer to my community right now are free accessible resources and I am happy to do so through my YouTube channel. Please follow the link in bio to learn about the 5 principles I use throughout my work to help people change their approach to their healing journey so that they can stop depending on bandaid solutions that offer temporary regulation and move into creating lasting shifts for themselves. ∞ #healthyanger #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #feelingoverwhelmed #burnout

In many ways we as human beings are evolving. Our sense of ourselves and what it means to be here, on this planet, in this body is deepening. People are more aware and curious. Who are we, really? Yet, even though this awareness is increasing, there's also so much happening in the world which feels backwards and confusing. The polarities of it all often leave me feeling shocked, frustrated, angry and sad. In what direction are we moving!? What I find helpful is bringing awareness to what direction I am moving in. What do I know to be true for me and how does that truth influence the path I travel and where I put my energy? If you're finding yourself confused, I encourage you to start by listening to what feels true TO YOU. Listen to your body's response to things. Follow any instinctive or intuitive hits that you get. Inquire further. Ask questions. Get curious. Let that guide you and see where it takes you. My thoughts are with all those fighting to survive in so many different contexts right now. ∞ #bethechange #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #somaticsovereignty

How many free downloads or programs have you signed up for, looking for THE ANSWER to solve your problems? And how often did you actually implement “The Steps” and have long lasting results? What if I were to tell you that it’s not actually about “The Steps”, and that there’s really nothing for you to fix? This can be hard to grasp, but it’s the truth. You’re already whole. Now to be clear, this is not a cop out and not an excuse to not look at the patterns you continuously find yourself stuck in. And it’s not a reason to create an excuse to hide behind like “I’m fine the way I am”. Instead I’d like to invite you to recognize how you’re coming at your healing and personal development journey. Because change, growth and transformation are very important! But sometimes we need to come at things from a different perspective. Instead of looking for the steps, and trying to fix yourself, begin coming at things knowing that you’re already whole, and that that wholeness can support your fragmentation’s and pieces that need healing. Check out the video to discover how to get a feel for what I mean here. It’s a subtle shift, yet it makes a world of difference because we often end up getting out of our own way and discovering that so many of the answers already lie within. We just need to learn to listen. Follow the link in my bio to discover ways that you can start listening! ∞ #healingjourney #personaldevelopment #somaticpratice #nothingtofix #youarewhole #nervoussystemhealth #authenticity #survivalpatterns #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #somaticsovereignty

My last guest on The Discomfort Practice, somatic expert Nicole Lohse @nlohse has some great thoughts on healing trauma. Check out her original post below. . 'Don’t get me wrong, our thoughts serve great purpose. However, when it comes to healing trauma we HAVE to look at the whole picture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s our mid and (especially) lower brain as well as our autonomic nervous system that are responsible for our survival. So when we’re exploring and addressing our trauma we HAVE to take this into consideration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thinking alone isn’t going to get us out of this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our body knows the way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We just have get curious and to learn to listen and support ourselves from new perspectives.'⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Want to know more? B O U N D A R I E S … How do you draw the line between work, family, rest, nourishment, pleasure and connection?      For so many years these lines were blurred for me. I was running on empty creating endless to do lists, putting the needs of others first, saying yes when I actually meant no.   I put a lot of pressure on myself to be strong and soldier on, to be the perfect mother, perfect wife, to be seen as having my life together,  pleasing everyone around me, deeply longing for connection.    I failed to protect my self worth and the things that deeply matter to my physical and mental health. This lead to exhaustion, burn out and an autoimmune condition.    It took a lot of work, practice and self love to tend to the forgotten parts of myself, strengthen my intuition and reconnect on a deep body level to my YES and to my hell NO.   Creating Powerful Boundaries is the theme of the next Unspoken Sessions @thewomen_hood with the wise and wonderful Debbie Edwards @thegentleleader on Thursday 8 July 7p.m.     Debbie will talk about boundaries as an act of radical self love, which has positive consequences for how you live, work and move through your life.  You can expect:   ⚡️Debbie to take you through the Unspoken Session format: Knowledge - Mindset - Toolkit

“This work has helped me free myself of longstanding physical, emotional and thought patterns that were no longer serving me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I understand my body more and have a greater capacity for love and intuition. A gentle weekend reminder!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The phrase "I am here" can be so impactful to your system. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I invite you to try using this phrase and adding in a piece of awareness - for example; my hands are here, and then move your hands. Or try this with identifying an item or object that is around you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You may notice a sense of connection to whatever it is you're recognizing here. You may notice a sensation, or that your breath shifts, or that the tension in your muscles changes. Or you may notice a sense of not being connected, feel a bit absent or unchanged. Regardless, the important piece is that you're taking a moment to notice! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Noticing yourself, and pieces of your environment, by labeling what is connected to you or surrounds you, allows you to connect differently within your system. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Play with this and see where it takes you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I would love to hear about your experiences with this - it sounds simple, but holds great potential! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ∞ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #somaticsovereignty

When it comes to transformation there are 3 aspects that we need to consider: The practice of getting to know ones self. The practice of healing. The practice of spirituality. We can easily put our focus on (and even “get lost” in) 1 or 2 of these practices, (I’ll get into this in my next video) but what I’ve learned is that the importance lies in exploring modalities that support you in weaving in all 3 of these practices together. The teachers and mentors I have learned from, and continue to learn from, over the years have allowed my own practice to evolve strongly in all 3 of these components and I’m so grateful for their teachings! I wanted to share 3 books from a few of the wise people that I’ve studied with and through. These books aren’t just words for you to retain. They will provide you with the opportunity to explore and experience what the words mean within your body. This is so valuable because as much as retaining the words and understanding things logically serves purpose, embodying and “getting” these words at a cellular level is where it’s at! I encourage you to read this or any books you’re learning through with this in mind. When you read, get curious about how it feels in your body. How can you can take in, relate and process what’s being shared in the deeper layers of your brain and body? How do you make sense of what you’re discovering so that when you come back to this knowledge the knowing is stored in a very different way? John Prendergast - A physiotherapist turned spiritual teacher. What I love most about John’s approach is that he understands humans at such a deep level. His invitation for inquiry allows ones spiritual practice to develop in such a simple, realistic way. “The Deep Heart” is a beautiful opportunity to inquire about your meditation practice from such an enriching, embodied place. The healing journey doesn’t happen in a straight line. A+b+c doesn’t = healed. Just following a set of directions, protocols or procedures won’t get you there. Where is there anyways? The truth is, there is no end to the healing journey. There is always more to unravel, uncover and evolve from - if you so choose! I’m guessing you already knew that there is no “right” way. There are so many amazing modalities out there, and honestly, they all work to some extent, otherwise people wouldn’t still be practicing them! The question is, are they right for you in this given moment? Here’s one thing I encourage you to consider on your journey. Experiment - be curious and learn to listen to your body, gut and heart. Decipher when outside sources, or even your logical mind, are telling you what the next step of support might be instead of when the message is coming from your body, gut and heart. I get that this isn’t easy. Especially if this language is new to you and you haven’t paid attention to it much yet. Also, this can be hard to access when you’ve been living in stress and survival for a long time. It can be tricky to tell sometimes if what’s being said is coming from a place of protection versus truth. (Check out my video on The River Analogy for more on this). I encourage you to inquire. Because the more you do, the more you’ll become clear on the “opinions” you have. When you’re looking for insight on something, get curious. Is there something deeper within you that has something to say? If you imagine following through on what’s being said, what do you experience? What happens if you take a small amount of action in that direction? Do you get a sense of relief, expansion, or momentum? Does it start to feel like a “FUCK YES” or a "FUCK NO”? Or is it maybe a “I need a bit more time to figure this out before knowing”. Start off with small things. “Do I have to go to the bathroom?” or "Am I hungry?” Then work up to “What should I eat today?” or “Should I wear this?” or “Should I text this person?” and keep playing from there! "Nicole has helped me view whatever comes up as part of the experience of being human. Looking at my experience from a nervous system perspective feels vital to me. I am leaving behind ideas of getting things wrong. My body is intelligent and why would I continue choosing not to listen? Why would I separate what I think is right for me and what my body tells me is right for me? Maybe they can be the same. Thank you Nicole for your great explanations, metaphors, reflection questions and gentle response."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ — VERA, Netherlands⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _______⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you interested in discovering more? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check out the link in my bio to learn about ways you can work with me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ∞ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #findingwholeness #getconnected #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #somaticpratice #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #traumahealing #somaticsovereignty

If you’re used to trying to figure “it” out and you love making sense of things and find being logical and rational helpful, you’re not alone.
We've been taught to live in our heads. We've been taught to understand and make sense of things. We've been taught to live from our higher brain. And all of this serves great purpose! However, when it comes to healing trauma we HAVE to support ourselves further by bringing “more of us” into the explorations. We need to understand and explore how our mid and lower brain and our autonomic nervous system play a VERY important roll in us being stuck in our trauma. We must learn to listen to our body’s responses, our emotions, our behaviours and movements and discover what arises organically for us. We have to look at the whole picture. So, instead of focusing on “figuring it out” I encourage you to check in and notice. There’s a lot happening that can give you all kinds of new insight and information. You just have to learn to listen and get curious. A heads up though, this might be unfamiliar territory for you. Chances are you weren’t taught to pay attention, get curious and support what’s happening in your body. You’ve likely been taught to understand, make sense of, have control of and figure things out.
It’s time you discover a new way of doing things. Start by getting curious and being open to exploring in unfamiliar ways. See where it takes you!
If you’re after some assistance in that, I encourage you to check out my free Survival Guide or check out my program DISCOVER. I’d be happy to support you on these inquiries! Here's to looking at things from new perspectives! ∞ #somaticpratice #listentoyourbody #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #traumahealinh #somaticsovereignty

Don’t get me wrong, our thoughts serve great purpose. However, when it comes to healing trauma we HAVE to look at the whole picture.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s our mid and (especially) lower brain as well as our autonomic nervous system that are responsible for our survival. So when we’re exploring and addressing our trauma we HAVE to take this into consideration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thinking alone isn’t going to get us out of this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our body knows the way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We just have get curious and to learn to listen and support ourselves from new perspectives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you curious? Awesome! I encourage you to check out my free Survival Guide! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, stay tuned for my next video where I’ll share more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ∞⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #traumahealing #somaticsovereignty #survivalguide #staycurious

The winter months can feel long and bring a natural desire to stay cozy indoors (depending on where you are in the world!) For me, in Canada, this time of year tends to lend itself to grey skies and the need to add extra layers before going outdoors! For some periods it rains for weeks on end. This week it's been sunny and cold, and the blue skies sure spark motivation for me! Where I live allows me to easily play in the snow and on the trails and I was able to both cross country ski and mountain bike this week. I'm lucky to live where I do, to have this access to nature and to have my dog Rio who encourages me (or forces me!) to get out of my warm bed instead of sleeping in on these darker cold mornings. Especially when it's pouring rain. No matter the time of year or what the weather is doing, it's important for us to take the time to connect with nature and use it as a resource. If you've been feeling (naturally) resistant to this right now, I encourage you to invite these explorations to your time outdoors in the winter months and see if it brings more of a desire to go outside: • JUST DO IT. Don't hesitate, don't think, just do! Even if it's for 5 minutes. Work, Netflix, Instagram...it can wait! You have time, so make it a priority. • You don't need to be surrounded by woods to take advantage of the benefits that come from being outside. No matter where you live, step outside and pause. What do you see? Take in the colours, textures and shapes. What do you hear? Take in the sounds. Both the obvious and the quiet. You might be surprised when you pause and take a moment to truly listen. Feel your feet on the ground. Move your toes. Carry on with your outdoor adventures - whether it’s on the way to your car, walking to the store, around your neighbourhood, in the woods, mountains or by the sea. Pause often and repeat. When you do, what happens to your breath and what happens to how you experience your body? • Invite in the awareness that you are connected to nature in more ways than you can imagine. Whether it’s just a thought or there’s an experience of this. Hold this in your awareness, and invite nature to hold you. Let me know how it goes!

Your past impacts who you are and influences how you view the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your reality is often based on a perception. The question I encourage you to ask yourself is, are you living life in a way that allows for your perceptions to change? Are you open to inquiring and getting curious?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is what the work I do is all about. As you explore and uncover the layers of it all, you may notice that what you thought to be true was actually just a perception of the world shaded by your trauma.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exploring from this perspective is so powerful and holds so much potential for you to evolve into your wholeness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So start inquiring - is what you know to be true, really the truth!?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ∞⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #changingperception #changeuspossible #changehowyouseetheworld #bethechange #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #healingtrauma #traumaeyes #movethroughyourtrauma #somaticsovereignty

"I'm feeling really anxious about going to tonight's dinner party." The chances are that you've found yourself saying some variation of this statement. In this case, how do you KNOW that what you're feeling is anxiety? This question often stumps people when I first start inviting them to be curious from a somatic (body) prospective. That's fair! Paying attention to what we're experiencing in our body is not something we're often taught how to do! We may have been taught to 'be with our feelings', but it's rare to be curious about what's happening in our body. Bringing awareness to how our system responds is SO important. It's an opportunity to get to know ourselves at a whole new and different level. When we learn to support ourselves from that place there's so much room for healing and growth! I go into more detail in this video. 🤓 I'd love to know what your experience is with this. Whether you've never thought to pay attention this way, you've recently started or you've been exploring this for some time. What have you discovered or learned by paying attention in this way!? Awareness and curiosity is KEY! A warning...awareness can also be really annoying at first and ignorance can be "bliss". I encourage you to be sure you want to learn about yourself in this way! Awareness isn't reversible, but I promise you it's SO worth it! Here's to endless curiosity and growth! ∞ #feeltoheal #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #traumahealing #somaticsovereignty #healingtrauma #discover #mindfulness #awareness #bodyawareness

Have you ever felt like you've needed to keep your heart protected or maybe you're even feeling that right now? I know I have (and still do)! This is a piece I've been exploring for a LONG time. In a workshop I took one of my meditation teachers, John Prendergast said "Your heart is indestructible". This hit me hard. I've been aware of the fact that I protect my heart for some time now. I was familiar with what felt like a wall that provided protection and allowed me to stay safe. I was aware of the fear that would arise when there was chance of exposure. I had just never thought of my heart as indestructible. It was then that I realized that all these things I was experiencing weren't actually my heart but my survival patterns that were there fulfilling their role to "serve and protect". As a result I realized that my heart itself didn't actually need any protection. And that in turn, my heart could actually support me in my journey as I explore being vulnerable and being seen in my truth. Believe me...this is still a big work in progress, but the more I reveal and work through the layers of this, the more I've been able to find deep connection with myself and friends. The word connection means and feels like something so much more expansive now. I'm excited for it to continue to deepen. In this video I share a little bit about my own experience with this and give some tips on how to explore this piece around protecting your heart less and less so that you can move towards connection more and more. I hope it invites in curiosity, insight and opening for you! ∞ #heartopening #somaticpratice #nervoussystemhealth #mentalhealth #somaticexperiencing #mindbodysoul #mindbodyawareness #traumahealing #somaticsovereignty #healingtrauma
