Surya Namaskar, or sun salutation, seems like a fitting sentiment as we start to warm up and wake up to the SUN!!!!! As Christians, we do not honor the sun as the force that brings all things to life, but like Jesus, we can rise up and pray (Luke 22:46) and begin our day with God, the true force that brings life to all things. The design concept behind these two styles is to remind Christians that yoga can still be practiced in a meaningful way without taking away from our faith. A person's gift can be attractive, but they are temporary and not to be worshipped or become an idol. Your gift will make room for you and bring you before others, but it won't keep you there. I’m in my, “Make it simple” era! Instead of worrying about “eat this, not this” I’m just adding more fresh juice, fruits, and veggies. Instead of working through a rigorous fitness plan, I’m moving throughout the day with functional exercises, mobility movements, and stretches DAILY. Instead of rushing and feeling like I need to “earn”rest, I take a nap every day whether I’ve worked hard or not. Lastly, I make sure that EVERY SINGLE day, I am finding something to either laugh about or learn about. Bonus if I get to do both 💚 I think there is a season for hustle and a season for slower living. It’s just taken me a while to realize that this season needs to be gentler whether I want it to be or not 🫶🏼

Only Jesus can calm the storms. I love when the disciples are in the boat with Jesus during a storm and He is asleep. One of the themes of Scripture is that only God can calm and bring order out of chaotic waters. Jesus knew He had it under control. In the story, the disciples wake Jesus up and He calms the storm. Maybe you are getting tossed around by a storm right now. The chaos is real. I don’t know how how long it will last but I do know Jesus is in the boat with you. How will you make some space today to turn to Him in trust? Do what you can that is within your control and then trust God with the rest. Today I taught my 750th yoga class. Wow. When I think of all God has allowed me to accomplish through yoga I am humbled beyond words. Just today - there was laughter and there were tears. In my twenties I hustled a brand going house to house with arm loads of samples and a smile. While I was living in the expectations and dreams of others, God was equipping me with tools and abilities for the season He called me to. The other day I read a definition of Godly success: to become who God has made you to be. We are all gifted with God-given potential. What we do with it is our gift back to Him. I looked past the fear of not being accepted, let go of what was not intended for me and took a HUGE step of faith. It started with a conversation. Turned into signing up for a class. And now more steps of faith follow as I look down at my hands and see what God has provided to produce through me a bountiful harvest. I’m just so grateful to You, Lord.
