“Simply put, CO2 Tolerance is the amount of CO2 buildup in your system you can tolerate before you experience the urge to breathe.  When it comes to breath holding, the higher your CO2 Tolerance is, the longer you can comfortably hold your breath.  CO2 Tolerance isn’t just helpful for underwater breath holds, increasing your tolerance to Carbon Dioxide also helps your body adapt to a variety of situations.” “To do work, our muscles need oxygen, and in order for our bodies to utilize the oxygen in our blood, we need CO2.  Our blood could be 100 percent saturated with oxygen, but in the absence of CO2, that oxygen isn’t as available for our bodies to use.  An elevated level of CO2 helps our body transport O2 more effectively into cells, and also helps us maintain a lower heartrate during effort.  This means that you can run/swim/paddle faster for a longer period of time.”

So-Ham means - I am that! This mantra which with the sound of our breath according to the Gheranda Samhita we can utilise by brining the mantra and sound into our conscious awareness. I am that - what are you, who are you, why are you? These are the great questions we should be meditating on to become truly free. Introspection, Swadhyaya requires a life of disciplined living, which is why freedom can only really be accomplished after a huge amount of disciplined living has been mastered, it’s an interesting paradox! Out of restraint of our lower nature comes the freedoms of our higher nature. The wild animal must be tamed and there are different paths and ways to do this. Take a beat💓 Often, in our busy lives, we are so busy 'doing' we neglect our inner landscape. That is to say, we become disconnected with what is going on in the mind and the body because we are too busy being distracted by the external world. We are often reminded that we are ignoring ourselves because we become ill, or it may manifest as feeling a bit 'meh' yet not truly understanding why. I regularly give myself the space to have 'check in time' - an opportunity to be, to notice with curiosity how I feel, and perhaps modify my behaviour if things begin to feel funky. Learning firstly, how to become more aware of your inner landscape is key 🔑 to being able to change unhelpful behaviours and patterns. Even spending a moment looking at a beautiful bloom, becoming aware of how being in that moment, looking, noting, and noticing how it makes you feel can be a simple start. Many people find that meditation 🧘‍♀️ ✨️ is difficult as the mind is too full of crap. Even sitting in the 💩 can be hard, but noticing and perhaps using the breath as an anchor can help, too. There are many techniques - using sound, breathwork, etc, but often having a wee seat in the garden is just the ticket! We would play a team better than us, to learn where we had to go (we usually lost). Then we would play a team we were ahead of, to see how far we had come (we always won). Then we played a team at our level where the outcome was uncertain (we won some, we lost some). I’m taking step by step on this magical island. (Bali, I love you!!😭🥹🫶🏼) Discovering what is hidden behind the facades & facets. And adopting different perspectives. And breathing. Ever more consciously deep in my belly. And realizing that this breath, this moment is life itself. Surrendering to this moment. To feel. Being there. With everything that is. Yes, sometimes I’m not able to walk because it‘s too painful. Then it‘s time to make a break and breath again. And just be. Living more & more the balance of release the feelings/ traumas what was. Forgiveness (holly, what a journey it is, to feel that truthfully !😵)& enjoying the moment in the here and now (there are soo many reasons to laugh and take life not too seriously!🤪) And looking ahead and being curious about what is yet to come. Perceiving with trust and taking further steps accordingly. That’s my life right now. And you know what?! Yes, sometimes I am soo f*cking afraid of „not knowing and consciously surrendering to the unknown“! 😵‍💫 but deep in my core, I feel that I’m in exactly the right place, on the „right“ path. Because if the here & now life is, there is no unknown… And this fills me with curiosity, vitality, courage, energy and love. And that’s what I wish for you too.
