“Let’s just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don’t know what it is, but I wanna try it.” #disneyfoodiefriday The truth was I didn’t know what #schwarma was until I watched #theavengers and I had no opportunities to try it afterwards. When I first saw the #schwarmapalace stand I had a full #marvelfangirl moment and zoomed right over and ordered my first one. This #heroic hand held #disneysnack is filled with a somewhat #spicy #chickenschwarma garlic spread, yogurt-tahini sauce and pickled vegetables. You really feel like your a toy! There’s even moments when you’re eating and you have to pause because Andy’s coming into the room! 🤣 The food was delicious! I couldn’t stop eating the grilled street corn, Cowpoke Corn on the Cob! 😋 I tried the Snake Eye Margarita and wasn’t really a fan. From Pastrami Egg Rolls to specialty sparkly churros, there’s only 20 days left to get your fill of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary treats. One of my absolute favorites can be found at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom: The Tropical Serenade. Aloha Isle took everyone’s favorite POG (Pineapple, Orange, Guava) juice and topped it with Coconut Dole Whip and a Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Pop. This treat really should stick around well past the 50th because, well POG juice. Also if you’re not a fan of Coconut, they will swap it out for the traditional Pineapple Dole Whip. During Black History Month, Walt Disney World is celebrating Soulfully with food and beverages honoring Black heritage and culture through out the parks and resorts. These two dishes are by far some of the best eats I’ve had on property. First up is the Southern Fried Chicken Bowl. Covered with a drizzle of Hot Honey, this bowl features a base of rice topped with Juicy Fried Chicken Thighs, Smokey Collard Greens, Creamy Macaroni & Cheese, Candied Sweet Potatoes, and Corn Bread. After reading about this dish on the @disneyparks blog I knew I needed to try it and it lives up to the hype. From my very first bite I knew I would be coming back for round two. Or maybe even three 😋 Next up is the Banana Pudding Cheesecake. Since I’m a sucker for banana, this really almost had the Chicken Bowl beat. It’s just that perfect. No fake banana flavor here.
