The Salvation is the fourth book in Her Monstrous Boys. In this book we finally get to know more about Merikhs history and it is just as dark as you'd expect, if not darker. We also find out more about how he and Kyan met which I was very interested in finding out. This was definitely the darkest of the four books and maybe even a tiny bit too dark for me to fully enjoy it, that being said, I still loved it and don't regret reading it one bit. There were some twist I saw coming, and some I didn't but I loved all of them, and yelled at the characters a lot...😒 The only thing that makes me slightly disappointed, but at the same time a bit happy, is that their story didn't end here like I thought it would, which makes me happy because there's more to read but frustrated because I can't read it right now.😂😅 All in all, I would definitely recommend this series to those who like dark themed books with a lot of monster smut 😈🥵. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before you read though because it’s definitely not for everyone, especially since Quintessa loves to feel everything, both pleasure and pain. The Submission is the third book in Her Monstrous Boys. In this book we get to come with Mayce, the god of fae, to his court of thorns. As the god of fae Mayce has a connection with earth itself and an ability to create nature, maybe this is why he is the first one that wants to know Quintessa down to her roots and then help her grow into a beautiful flower by overcoming her insecurities and realising her own worth. The way he does this is by making her submit to him. The way he does this is not very gentle though and instead makes him earn his nickname, Daddy Mayce. I swear, this series just keeps getting better and I'm a little scared of reading the last one, both because I don't want it to end and because it will be focused on Merikh and all that that entails. The Surrender is the second book in Her Monstrous Boys. This time we get more focus on Kyan, the god of air, so we get his and Quintessa’s pov as well as Qora’s. We also get a change in court as we are now at Kyans court, the court of storms. I liked this one more than the first, mostly because even though it was focused on Kyan we got more of the other gods. We also get more about the people of the court and how the curse has affected them which makes me even more interested to learn more about this world. I did however not enjoy Qora’s chapters as much, even though it was interesting to see a glimpse from outside of the waste. I do love that we get more of Kyan and Merikh together and the spice is even better in this one, at least for my preferences. I also really enjoy the villain and their backstory. The Sacrifice is the first book in Her Monstrous Boys. It’s about Quintessa who only has half a soul and therefore is numb, until hollow night when she is sacrificed to the monsters on the other side of the veil and runs into Drago, a dragon and one of the monster gods, who she can feel. So she follows Drago and the three other gods, Mayce, Kyan and Merikh, through the veil into the waste where they rule. We are kinda thrown into the world and it’s confusing in the beginning, by the end of the book it still confuses me, and yet somehow it fascinates me and I hope to understand it and learn more in future books. Although, to be fair, I will most likely love the other books just like I loved this one, even if I still don’t fully understand the world, simply because the smut is amazing and I love the characters.
