Talking about their campus life just about a couple of year ago with fellow musicians, Takashi Hamazaki (Flying Kids) and Jun Miura. Some episodes by the two from Tsugaru, like Suzuki used to be a member of a puppet play circle called “Chirolin-mura” and Wajima’s involvement in Buddhist youth circle are well known for Japanese fans. According to Suzuki’s own remarks in NI’s 30th year anniversary book, he quit the circle after completing the sophomore year and joined Russian theater circle while helping drama society backstage. He said that he learned how to makeup there. Resilient: able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Our children are clay that continue to be shaped through experience. They feel their way through life with play but they’re molded and shaped by every experience. Over the last year I’ve heard the phase “children are resilient” enough times to almost make me believe it. Heck adults aren’t even resilient without training. Children don’t have a solidified set point for their reality yet. They’re extremely plastic not resilient. They’re constantly shifting and adapting to their world to attempt to exist peacefully inside of it. They change behaviors, social groups and inner environments to better suit the external changes. And I’m sure any adult that went through some childhood trauma can blow up the comment section telling us about how much they were molded by those experiences. That said, we can support our children to help cultivate those changes to be good. However to say they’re resilient to stress and let’s cut to the core, trauma, would in my opinion be a lie. Greece was such an unforgettable trip. Being able to take Leonie, even though she’s still so young, is a memory I’ll hold on to forever 🥺 she had so much fun. . We may not tailor a lot of our trips around her (like make it a kids vacay) but we always make sure to do things we know she will likely enjoy. I hope she will appreciate travelling more this way. 5am wake up call to drive 1.5hrs or 96 miles to Magnolia from Dallas on Saturday morning. We just knew that we'd spend most of the morning waiting. First Pedal Bike • Los Barriles, Baja California Sur, Mexico • @paigestellaschilling has been asking for a pedal bike for about a month. She mastered her balance bike, watched her brother learn how to ride a pedal bike, & saw us buy a bike for dad at a local yard sale. Now it’s her turn. • I went grocery shopping yesterday for the first time in a month. The store in town had this tiny bike hanging from the ceiling, covered in dust, with flat tires. I bought it for her. • On the way back to our RV, I noticed the door to the only bike shop in town was open (even though they were closed). I popped my head in and asked if they had any bikes for sale that would fit my short self. He had one bike that would fit me, it was used & pink - perfect! We made a deal, threw it on the roof & tied it down. I came home from grocery shopping with 2 pink bikes. • Now, everyone in the family has a bike. We arrive at 17:30 (I want to get there earlier but it’s not an option at this point.) Our departing flight leaves the following morning at 06:15. . . We are going into the city (even though we may arrive late) because my child wants to see Big Ben so it’s practically non-negotiable. . . How long should we expect immigration to take? I realize that’s a crap shoot question because it can change by the moment (will be a Wednesday). . . I’m thinking we need to spend the extra money at stay at one of the Heathrow hotels with the early flight back out and dropping our stuff off then heading into the city on the Heathrow Express. We've visited many mazes including the Dole Pineapple maze in Hawaii, various corn mazes for Halloween and the labyrinth of Versailles. But nothing compares to the #icecastles maze with its cool nooks and tunnels to experience. . . *We bought our tickets for the 10-10:30pm slot but we checked-in early around 9pm and they still allowed us to enter. We stayed until 10:30pm so it seems they are flexible on the entry times. Once you enter, you can stay for as long as you want.
