PAUSE ⏸️ I have been quiet here lately, but the truth is there's a lot moving on the background. I knew this year would be a year of changes, I felt those changes coming for a while now. But as someone who likes comfort, and attaches quiet easily to things, I preferred to look else where and stay inside my comfort zone. Change can be scary, and once again I am sensing this fear in all my pores. I let it poison me for a while to observe what changes it makes within me. I let it go at times to observe the peace I feel within when there's no fear, only TRUST. The universe is in constant change, and so are we. There's no yin without yang, there's no darkness without light. Change is inevitable, and in the end, we have only two options: Take the wave and surf it, or let it shake you and drawn you. Today, I choose to navigate with it, and see where this big wave of change leads me next in my journey. Looking with the eyes of a child, for whom everything in the world appears to be new and exciting. I am taking a step back to observe, to reflect and to face my own fears. #storytime I wasn’t going to stop until I found long brown grass... These frames are from one of my favourite music videos - Adam Harvey - Your Friend. I was all organised with my storyboard and plan, then last minute the location with the long brown grass fell through. At first, I panicked and thought "how the hell am I going to find a perfect place for the next day". I got in my car, lived in the middle of Sydney, where was I going to see long brown grass. I thought to myself; "I am not coming home until I find a location". I drove out of the city and had no direction; I just took off with no road map and no idea where I was going. Talk about stress. I drove around loads of back streets in the middle of nowhere until I came across some land off the road that looked promising. I could see a paddock of long brown grass, and I started to get excited. As it turned out, it was land owned by a brick company. I drove in and spoke to the guy in charge and told him the story of needing long brown grass by the morning. He was happy to show me around and even said his little boy looked like an angel if I wanted to feature him in the clip. So I looked around, and it was even better than the first location. The grass was brown and long, and there were many places and directions I could film and use our vintage car. It was just in time because by this time it was late in the afternoon. It was a magical experience to get in my car and have no idea how something would show up or work out. Sometimes you just have to trust your guidance and determination, and magic happens. It was the perfect shoot. The weather was perfect, the people in the clip were too. The imagery we captured that day was magical, and I will never forget the story of the brown grass. You should see an Elephant eating a whole watermelon, it looks like they're eating a small lolly. Local farms bring trailer loads of food for the elephants. They each eat about 300 pounds of food each day! You can imagine how expensive it is to feed elephants, so these places need all the help they can get. OMG, how young do I look in this photo? This is a shot from a video I captured, when I was terrified of doing videos. No matter how much I tried for months, I had a block around being on video. I thought as soon as I got to Thailand away from Australia it would change, but no, my fear came with me. My first stop was Elephant Stay - This is where I had my first ever meeting with an elephant. I had tears of excitement since all I had done for months was research, with no real elephants. Eva and Michelle took great care of me and answered all of my very curious questions. The moment in time when my whole life would change! I stood in the crowded room, looking around for someone to connect with. The meeting hadn’t been great and so I wanted to chat to at least one person and learn something new. Then I saw her, a lady with a great smile and wonderful billowing hair, waiting in line to get her book signed. I joined the queue and decided to introduce myself. She was so friendly! An hour later I left the conference to journey home. There she was again, waiting on the platform for the same train as me! We sat together and talked animatedly for a whole hour. A few months went by and then out of the blue she messaged to ask if she could coach me. I happily agreed as my life was pretty messy at the time. I had no idea how much it would change my life. I enjoyed it so much that I enrolled on a course myself, with the aim of helping others change their lives too. Now I’m a fully qualified personal development coach, specialising in careers. 🎉 What a journey it’s been! I will always be grateful to Lindita Saliasi and that chance meeting. The world is changing as it always has since its inception, but today it’s more transparent than ever. Injustices, lies, power games and corruption are part of the norm. We are aware of it all, but no one is paying the price, the stakes are just too high for all those involved, with too much to lose. Governments are abusing the COVID -19 crisis to push agendas that would otherwise be impossible under normal circumstances, and people are adjusting accordingly, unemployment is at a high, domestic abuse is rampant and the mental health of otherwise ‘stable’ individuals is tested to its core. Depending on your physical and spiritual coordinates, each and every one of us is facing this unrest in their own manner according to the access and opportunities available for a better future for them and their children. I personally only know of 2 people that were diagnosed with Corona and they are both located in other countries. They both had serious illnesses and pre-existing conditions and a weakened immune system to begin with. And by the way, one of them was mis-diagnosed twice, so you never know the accuracy that lies behind the veil. I see the sufferring on TV but not firsthand. I am witness to unemployment and people’s lives detoured or uprooted from its center and temperatures rising due to the injustice that exists within the system. Whether you live in seclusion or in populated areas the consequences of corrupt actions have infiltrated our lives and psyche more than ever. And In all this, we desire and seek a more complete match to our most profound values. As innovation competes with the need for stability we try to avoid moving too far, too fast.
