16th till 24th April- I walked in the steps of soldiers along the Kokoda trail and in footsteps of my grandfather (mums side) who was here in 1942. I learnt more about our military history and reflected on the ultimate sacrifice so many have given to allow our freedom we hold today. I shared my story of my strong military history and I walked my dads and grandfathers medals with me wearing the medals proudly at the dawn service on Anzac Day. I watched the sun come up on the 11th anniversary of dad’s death knowing he was looking down at me so proud! This amazing journey took me out of my comfort zone in so many different ways… I was a solo traveller, 1 of 2 girls on the tri and never really camped or not showered twice a day… bathing in rivers is fun also getting changed in tents is an adventure.. I cried once when my tent became a bath tub.. but then I laughed as the storm passed.. The physical challenge was amazing (thank you body for being amazing) and the mindset of you can achieve what you want if you believe you can is amazing.. I wasn’t a fan of the down hills to start off with now.. I’m slow and steady but I love them as much as the hills! I got to walk this 96km+ with an amazing leader Greg.. at 74 he is the most amazing inspirational leader, he shared stories, an emotional service and wisdom! I learnt so much! Greg has been in my military family from the start thank you from the bottom of my heart. The week started great and continues to feed off that positive energy! Some more pics of Akuma so you see just some of the detail touches that went into her. On top of that, thanks to my brother Eddie Lee, I now own season tickets for the Mavericks 2024-2025 season! And as if that’s not great enough…I fly out with boys again. This time to Boston for the weekend. I’ve lined up a surprise event for Friday night, so I’m pretty pumped to see their reactions. 🤣🔥 Life is 1000% what you make it! Surround yourself with positive people and let that energy grow! The dinners and adventures spent with Eddie, Rob, Raj and Craig have been worth every minute and provided unforgettable memories. And the times spent with Alex and Rich tracking down adventures in random cities all over the US have been a source of nonstop laughs for me. I am beyond blessed with amazing friends who are family to me and to have the love of a beautiful heart that makes me smile and laugh every day. It was a regular weekend…heading out to the ranch, helping Poppa Bear check cattle, count the babies new to the world; making sure each and every one was accounted for. And there it was…that half used up block of salt, setting in the middle of the poo patch. Once I saw it, it could not be unseen. “𝐈𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭. If we yearn for the good times had. If we exist in an orb of regret of the “woulda, coulda, shoulda’s, we become as useless as this salt block. We become stuck where we are at, unable to move forward, derailing our purpose. I was reminded that particular day, of Lot’s wife: she was warned not to look back, yet…she turned around, yearning for her city. Her heart was in anguish as she left her familiar, her comfort zone, her satisfying milieu. She looked back. And that was the end of her story. The moral to this little story? Don’t look back. Mourn what needs to be mourned. Rejoice in your success. Then move on. Look forward. Move forward. Because…living in the past is a noxious place to live. #dontlookback #livefortoday #thisismystory
