Miso Whisky Nice Cream What's not to love about a good nice cream?! Simple ingredients, easy to make, and delicious.... But if I'm being honest, no matter what I add to it, I think it always tastes like bananas. That's not a bad thing. I love bananas 🍌 I was playing around with a banana tart when I thought "I bet this would be even better as a nice cream" 🍨 Spoiler alert: It is! Lightly sauteing the bananas in plant butter, a touch of sugar, miso, and a generous amount of whisky (I use what I like to drink @suntorywhisky 🥃) adds depth and really features the banana flavor. The flavor was better to me without burning off the alcohol. I left a little bite on the bananas for texture. And just for funsies I added some soy caramel and a good sprinkle of dessert furikake. The result is sweet and salty and sultry. So...this is just one element of a dessert dish I'm working on for an upcoming chef's dinner. Strawberry nice cream? I use my 32 ounce jug to make it. It’s possible to make just one serving with a smaller jug. When you use the 64 ounce jug, you have to make a lot more and really @Vitamix nice cream is best enjoyed right after it’s made. It’s like a super ft-serve consistency. You don’t need a recipe for nice cream, you just need to know the method. Throw in a couple frozen bananas (break into 3s) and whatever frozen fruit you like. I usually add about 2 TBSP - a quarter cup of soy milk or fruit juice to start blending on speed 1 then turn it up to speed 10. Use your tamper. And if you need more liquid add it in 1 TBSP at a time and if it’s too liquidy add more frozen fruit. It’s really quite easy and it takes 30 seconds and it’s completely healthy.
