Esta una historia bastante desarrollada donde vemos el pasar de los años y los cambios que tiene cada personaje, básicamente cada capítulo es un año nuevo donde nos muestran la evolución y lo que sucedió en la vida de los protagonistas tras no verse en mucho tiempo y cómo lo hacen siempre el mismo día ósea los 15 de julio donde también usan el contexto de la vida da muchas vueltas de una excelente manera. Las actuaciones, la química entre los actores, la fotografía y la ambientación en general me parecen muy buenas y el como profundizan en los problemas de los protagonistas es magnífico. Esta es una de esas series que te romperán el corazón con su historia de amor que se va cocinando desde el principio y también el desenlace de la misma. Un jour, nous n'existerons plus. Qu'est-ce qu'une journée dans toute une existence ? Pourtant, une vie peut être basculée en un jour. Ce que nous avons aujourd'hui, nous pouvons le perdre demain, mais aujourd'hui est ici et maintenant. Si demain est incertain, ce que nous vivons est réel et on l'aura vécu. Comment trouver les mots justes pour exprimer ce que j'ai ressenti en lisant ce livre, en regardant le film et la série ? "Un jour" est le genre d'histoire qui vous marque et qui reste ancrée en vous longtemps après l'avoir découverte. Est-ce que cela suffit à vous convaincre si je vous dis que j'ai lu les 600 pages en même pas deux jours ? Que j'ai regardé plusieurs fois le film ? Que j'ai regardé deux fois la série ? Sachez d'ailleurs que je suis incapable de choisir entre le film et la série. Je trouve que les deux sont fidèles à l'œuvre à leur manière. J'aime autant l'un que l'autre même si j'ai une préférence pour le Dexter de Leo Woodall et pour la Emma d'Anne Hathaway. L'histoire complexe et amoureuse entre Emma et Dexter vous prend aux tripes. Bien plus que n'importe quelle autre histoire d'amour. Pourquoi ? Parce qu'elle est d'un réalisme déconcertant. Ce n'est pas un conte de fées. Les deux personnages sont terriblement humains. Nous nous en imprègnons. Leurs personnalités restent gravées dans la peau. Loin d'être romanesque, leur relation est concrète, réaliste et c'est justement cette authenticité qui me touche autant. Em et Dex ou Dex et Em vous pouvez les croiser au détour d'une rue, dans un cinéma, au rayon fruits et légumes d'un supermarché, dans un restaurant... ils sont toi, moi et tous les autres. De jeunes gens avec des idéaux, des ambitions, des rêves, des envies. Deux êtres que le lecteur suit avec délectation sur vingt années. Ils grandissent, mûrissent, se stabilisent. Leur relation aussi ? Peut-être. Peut-être pas. Je vous laisse le découvrir par vous-même. Rendez-vous tous les 15 juillet. One day by David Nicholls captured my interested due to the popular adaptation of the Netflix show. The novel hooked me with the opening sentence “I suppose the important thing is to make some sort of difference.” The book is very realistic and funny as it follows Dexter and Emma over a span of 20 years. It provides a snapshot of their life through one day and alternates between their point of views. I really enjoyed this novel and found it engaging. It was hard to put down and very funny. I especially loved Emma while Dexter had a lot of growing up to do. I wanted to shake him many times. It was very honest regarding the different stages of life and did an excellent job going through the issues one experiences growing up especially feeling lost. I found myself remembering the exact ways Emma did with the uncertainty of the future and stress of figuring it all out. My only issue with this novel was I hated the ending and certain plot points were dragged out longer than necessary. Overall this was a great book and I would recommend to everyone who likes romantic novels. I would also recommend reading the book first as the adaptations are both very accurate. There was a movie adaptation but the Netflix show was infinitely better in my opinion and captures the book better. If you have seen both the movie and the show which one do you prefer and why? Everyone is reading this right now because of the new Netflix series and I’m getting FOMO. My love of the Anne Hathaway @annehathaway & Jim Sturgess @officialjimsturgess movie goes wayyyy back, it’s one of my top favorite movies. I owned this edition of the book years ago but never read it and ended up unhauling it at once point, probably as we were getting ready to move to this house. I tracked down the same beautiful movie tie-in edition and I’m really excited to read it now. After I finish the book I will watch the new tv series and see how it compares to the movie. It’s hard to imagine it possibly living up to that for me, but we will see! I have a chunky tbr this month so I’m not sure I’ll get to it right away, but I definitely want to read it soon!! ☀️ one day by david nicholls i put together a little ‘aesthetic of’ for this book including some quotes from the book too <3 after putting this book down i was quite confused with what to rate it .. and as of right now i think i need to sit with my thoughts before i give it a set rating. the thing i loved most about this book was the character of emma ; she was so incredibly relatable and im still quite shocked at the fact that a male author was able to write from a woman’s pov so accurately (especially since this was written in 2009). she’s a very awkward and insecure person who’s also unaware of how much people around her care for her , and it was so interesting to read her point of view. although i found some aspects great, the main critique i have for this book is the length along with the excessive scenes of emma and dexter’s personal lives. i know the point of this book is to get a deep insight into these peoples lives throughout their 20’s - 40’s , but i found it to be way too drawn out. the most enjoyable moments for me were when they were together, so i wasn’t particularly interested in seeing their normal day to day lives without each other. sometimes ‘no plot just vibes’ books work really well for me (like beautiful world where are you) but in this case i found myself dreading to pick the book up sometimes - which is not a good thing 🙃

Nosso ensaio em Edimburgo ✨ Era meu sonho ir para Escócia. E ano passado, enquanto planejava a viagem que faríamos esse ano, por coincidência comecei a ler o livro que originou o filme UM DIA. Na primeira página logo de cara vi que se passava em Edimburgo (a cidade que iriamos conhecer) então resolvi assistir ao filme novamente e percebi que o começo do filme e o final se passa lá. One Day (2011) A's Rating: 4/5 Where to Watch: Prime Video Tropes: Friends to Lovers A's Thoughts: Looking at people going crazy over Netflix's series adaptation of One Day (I have not watched it yet), made me reminisce about the experience of watching the movie adaptation for the first time. It was during one of my early romance movie binges that I came across One Day, and I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster that I was on. Anne Hathaway as Emma, and Jim Sturgess as Dexter, are flawed, unforgettable, inevitable, and absolutely magnetic. Emma and Dex do not have an aspirational love story, theirs is a realistic story of struggle, growing, outgrowing, accepting, guilt and so many other adult emotions that one experiences when they navigate the world after college graduation. How love and friendship fit into all of it across a span of twenty years is the essence of the movie. They give it to you pretty straight in the end - even a dreamy happy ending with your soulmate does not guarantee perpetual happiness in real life. I wish there was a way I could help you heal, but I am helpless from where I sit and write this for you, knowing that it’s never going to reach you. If there is one thing I would want to change from the life I had, then it has to be not stepping outside the house that day, because the rest is all I think was meant to happen for us to be here where we are. Nobody thought that you and I would end up together and be one of those couples who like to enjoy their time together even after knowing each other for a long time. We’ve been through a lot, and you’ve been through a lot, and I think it’s time for you to let go of all the hurt and pain and try to be happy and lively. I know I might be asking for a lot now knowing how much you love me, but please don’t let the memories of the past hold you back from having a life that can give you smiles and love. I don’t know how to comfort him because it has been years, but I think I am still coming to terms with the fact that you’re not here, and it’s not been pretty. I read somewhere that grief is simply love that does not know where to go, and now that I am experiencing it, I think I understand what it means. People tell him that a significant amount of time has passed and he should move on. He gets annoyed but always ends up saying that whatever love he had inside of him, he has given it to you while you were here, and what’s left, he’ll give to you from afar because he cannot love someone the way he loved you. Like I said, I didn't know a person could love someone so much that sometimes they didn't even need that person to be with them. He tries to comfort himself with your memories, and even though my heart breaks for him, I know you are going to look after him. Hi!😍 Have you watched One Day, the series, on Netflix? I'm pretty obsessed with it as I think it's so sweet and so British! It's been a long time since I last saw a truly romantic (and good) film or series. Watch it, trust me! 💘 It's based on a novel by David Nicholls (2009). Also, you can watch the movie (2011), starring Anne Hathaway. I can't recall watching it but it's said to be beautiful, too. 💘 I loved the story, their brilliant performances (@ambikamod and @leowoodall ) and the moral of the story: express your feelings, don't leave things unsaid and seize the day! 💘 Another plus point is the locations: - Edimburgh: Emma and Dexter meet at uni, in their Grad Ball, as they call it (🇦🇷Baile de Graduación). So, I watched #oneday on Netflix, without reading the book or without even having any clue about the plot at all, and I just have one question, WHY? 😭 It is so good! And so heartbreakingly beautiful. I finally have a new series that I want all my friends to watch (and I will be annoying about it🥰). I am in love with @ambikamod and @leowoodall 's performances and, I won't forget about this series very soon...or ever.
