#makeadiffernce (2) Ein paar Wochen nach unserem Besuch informierte uns der Schulleiter der Arukharka Schule, dass die Mutter zusammen mit der ältesten Tochter das Haus verlassen und die anderen 5 Kinder im Alter von 5 – 13 zurück gelassen hat. Nachdem unser Vereinsgründer Manfred Losert die Umstände zusammen mit Thomas Rupprecht-Mauroner vor Ort erlebt hatte, stand fest, dass wir den Kindern helfen müssen. Also setzten wir uns mit dem Vater in Verbindung. Dank der guten Kontakte zur Kantipur Akademie konnten wir 5 „Internatsplätze“ sichern, die nur in Ausnahmefällen angeboten werden. Am 26.06.2018 brachte der Vater seine Kinder nach Kathmandu. Dort wurden sie von unserem nepalesischem Partnerverein empfangen und neu eingekleidet. Nach 4 Monaten brachte die Mutter die älteste Tochter zurück zum Vater. #makeadifference (1) Beim Besuch der Arukharka Schule* im Jahr 2018 hat uns der Schulleiter auf die Familie Tamang aus der Gemeinde Kakani Rural aufmerksam gemacht. Da der Schulweg sehr lang war, nahm nur das älteste der sechs Kinder sporadisch am Unterricht teil. Am nächsten Morgen besuchten wir das Haus der Familie Tamang, trafen aber nur die Kinder an. Das Haus und die Küche befanden sich in einem katastrophalen Zustand. Der Vater arbeitete auf Baustellen und die Mutter als Tagelöhnerin auf dem Feld. Die Kinder waren unter der Woche sich selbst überlassen. This Field of Interest fund at the Taos Community Foundation was established specifically to enable children who may have financial barriers to experience outdoor recreation in the mountains. Funds may be used for program and operational support to give children in Taos and Colfax counties the ability to experience outdoor recreation, through skiing and snowboarding, hiking, rafting, snowshoeing, and more. Awards will range from $3,000 to $6,000. Applicants will be notified of decisions by mid-May 2024!
