An elementary student residing in Southwest Minneapolis was diagnosed with medication-resistant epilepsy caused by a brain tumor. Within days of returning home from the hospital, the neighborhood kids began to play pranks on the sick child. They excluded him while playing in his yard or next door, where he could hear and see them. They teased him, dismissed his diagnosis, and ghosted him. Shockingly, their parents joined in on the bullying and social isolation. Following migrant workers through the seasons during their back-breaking task of planting 1000 trees or more each day, this film takes a humanistic view of the beginning of the supply chain for paper products. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲📝 Interestingly, the main big corporation owners of today they work for were once tree planters themselves—but this was in their escape from the mainstream to form a hippie counterculture of migrant camps. The inherent conflict of counterculture ideals in those who are now big business owners is a situation we see often in the herbal business.✌️🤑 This, especially as the world has shifted to large monocultural agriculture and a very different labor market, contrasts some of the big changes we have experienced in the past few decades. Presenting: Microlibrary Warak Kayu (Indonesia) 🏫 Designed by SHAU Indonesia, Warak Kayu is the 5th project in the Microlibrary series. These buildings are a collaboration between the community, the government, and architecture companies to promote literacy and education by providing a multi-use space that is open, free of charge, to the public. Inspired by ‘rumah panggung’, a long-established type of design in coastal areas, the building functions as a multi-purpose community space that not only educates but serves as a space for community engagement, entertainment, and connection. The materials of the building are native to Indonesian manufacturing companies and designed with the environment in mind. They visited titans like Google, AMD, Stanford University, and Berkeley University. They also visited us, Tico Coffee Roasters. It's not enough to create revolutionary innovations and become the next unicorn if the society and environment are neglected. LFBI certificate takes a minimum of 6-8 months to mature🙌🙌 so we give a big kudos to any one who made it. Thank you for your heart of service. Without you we can't make much impact. Our Volunteers have formed an integral part of this initiative, dedicating their time to serving humanity. More so, LFBI certificates cannot be seen with anyone who has not earned it by merit.
