Letter to my girls!❤ Just because of being a single child, I've longed for a sibling ever since my childhood. Deep inside, i felt very jealous and sad while seeing my cousins, schoolmates and neighbors fighting with their sibling, being close and attached with them. That went into worse when i lost my father. Those console that i received for being a single child made me to feel unlucky to the core. Everything felt different after joining in our world class university. The phase where we all became a group of six made me to realize that this is how human version of support system would be. You girls gave me all those sibling vibe, love, care and support in these three years. The connection which i've with your family is nothing but a blessing!. Though i've been hurting you all through my actions/words, i wish to say that you girls are my HOME where i can go at the end of the day no matter whatever happens. All i can say to the 17year old of mine is, "You're here; You'll be in a better place soon; You're surrounded by people whom you've been searching for all these years!. Now that I have your attention with a nice happy picture, let's talk about how I'm not happy because what I really am is scared. // I'm scared, but Don't get me wrong, because I'm not scared for me. You see, I come from a place of privilege. I'm scared for the state of Media, politics, health, law, and sadly so many other things. In this country and others, what are we even doing? I'm anxious, so so anxious About the future, because the one that I'm envisioning is pretty bleak. Wherever I look, there's hopelessness, so much that sometimes even I feel it numbing me. Where are we headed? Doom it seems. Or are we already there, I wonder sometimes. It was never really about the end of humans, but rather the end of humanity. What's justice if it's not just, because the justice I knew of didn't discriminate. Turns out, now it does. The media, the one that used to be our source for unbiased facts and information, too has changed it seems. Now, even they take sides and pretty strongly at that. Weren't politicians supposed to do and say what was best for their people? Well, that's a distant dream now. But, while all that's as real and true as it could get, Dreams do turn into reality, And rainbows do come after rains. Before I run the risk of overly romanticizing the #christmasseason or , heaven forbid get too maudlin about it, once again I opt for a #changeofpace with the style of #mypoetryforyou . Right now, I'm in a conflict with my life. I want patience and stillness, but all I am doing is constantly moving and hustling in search of it. I want to sit in empty cafés and drink coffee by the reading window while I am using caffeine to keep me up for the nights, preparing for the exam I have the next day. I want to write poems and make sense out of my feelings but all I am is taking notes and stuffing in words stringed together that do not make sense to me. I want to dance and drink all the sadness off but all these complexities of theories are giving my head just the same spin except that I do not want it. It's hard to have fun when you're too careful of what's the next day gonna be like. I want to just be standing at my terrace with my arms wide open or sit at balcony to contemplate the stories of people passing by without feeling guilty about the unwashed dishes and clothes waiting for me. I want to make people feel special and tell them how much they mean to me before they're gone without bothering about the deadlines of assignments. I long for simplicity, I long for the little pleasures without feeling like there's a punishment that is gonna follow, I want to be happy without thinking how sad it's gonna make me when I was happy and yet unproductive. I want to live without people expecting me to be productive each day, without people expecting me to be functional even when I'm not mentally okay just because my body is too able to be sitting idle, without people making me feel unlovable while I struggle to win the mental wars, without the fear of being broken while opening my heart to someone new, without the phobia of people leaving the sad mess that I made out of myself.
