I’ve been transfixed by rainbows ever since I was little. I loved everything about them; how everyone would stop to look at one, how they have 7 colours whilst my name has 7 letters (and you bet I signed my name for years with every colour of the rainbow getting a letter each!). I love the religious symbolism behind them and I love how they come about after a combination of rain and sun. It’s almost as though the world receives a prize for its indecisiveness. So many things came into play when writing this. I envisioned that, if a rainbow was an indicator of my time on Earth, I’d like to be just past the first quarter. Just above the trees but not quite touching the clouds. In my early 20’s I know what makes me blue and what makes me blush but I haven’t quite figured out how to make my dreams a reality. Maybe I’ll figure it out when I reach the clouds.
