How about a cricket muffin? Dr Ralph Manders, Fellow at the Institute for Sustainability, Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology, and Programme Director of Sport & Exercise Sciences at @uniofsurrey, appeared on the @BBC Breakfast this morning with muffins baked with cricket flour. Cricket flour is considered a #sustainable #alternative as it can be a great source of protein and requires much less space, water, and feed to produce compared to traditional animal- and plant-based proteins. Dr Manders and his research team are planning to investigate the digestive features and nutritional value of insect-based protein so that it can be considered as an alternative source of protein. The research team is seeking participants aged between 45-55 years old and over 65 years old, to consume cricket muffins so as to understand the way the insect-based protein is processed. 🥘🔥 Hochwertige #Klimaschutzprojekte für Energie-effiziente Öfen im globalen Süden schützen nicht nur das Klima, sondern fördern auch nachhaltige Entwicklung. Aber welche Vorteile haben die Öfen konkret? Unsere Kollegin Vera Bünte, Leiterin Kommunikation und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, war in #Ruanda und hat sich diesen Projekttyp genauer angesehen und mit Menschen vor Ort gesprochen. 💬 Odette Mukansanga: „Den Energie-effizienten Ofen habe ich seit acht Jahren in Gebrauch – und kann mir nicht mehr vorstellen, einen anderen Ofen zu nutzen. Er reduziert meinen Holzverbrauch und kocht schnell. Außerdem gibt es eine Wonderbox dazu, in der das Essen gart, sodass ich nicht lange kochen muss. Es gibt weniger Rauch und ich habe weniger rote Augen – außerdem ist es sehr sauber in der Küche. Ich kann jetzt neben dem Ofen sitzen und muss mich nicht mehr herunter an das offene Feuer beugen.“ 🪵 Die Energie-effizienten Öfen ersetzen traditionelle offene Drei-Steine-Feuerstellen und sparen somit vor Ort #Kohlenstoff und tragen zur Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen bei. Die effizienten Öfen leisten somit einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Erreichung der #SDGs und zur Umsetzung der #Agenda2030, in dem sie u.a. Zeit und Ressourcen sparen und gesundheitliche Belastung verringern. 😌 Die effizienten Öfen reduzieren den Holzverbrauch beim Kochen um bis zu 80 Prozent und verringern damit nicht nur den Bedarf nach Holz und den Ausstoß von Kohlenstoff, sondern verbessern auch den Lebensalltag der Menschen vor Ort. So werden zum Beispiel neben den positiven Klimawirkungen und #SDG3 (Gesundheit und Wohlergehen) durch weniger Atemwegserkrankungen auch #SDG2 (kein Hunger) und #SDG4 (hochwertige Bildung) gefördert, da den Menschen nun mehr Geld für andere Lebensbereiche bleibt. 【超商鮮食商品化之路】—大解密 桃園市立壽山高中 自主學習玩很大！ 去年四月底我帶著三位非本科男孩 獲得2023 #全家料理王 六月前往日本富山 食育大會跟日本學校營養師發表， 並且成為首批中學生參訪日本全家Head Core總部。 如今想想真的像夢一樣！ 2024年在上週新品上架，在422世界地球日前上市！ 從【#桃園龍岡涼拌米線—>#酸辣麻醬細冷麵】這一年發生什麼事 有許多朋友很好奇，我想讓彦翔這個指導老師來回復一下（部分文字引自官網） Ｑ1.為什麼等了一年這麼久？（敲碗） 全家便利商店的商品開發，為了精準打中消費市場以及商品穩定性等因素，從市場分析開始，經過商品開發、商品提案、商品測試之後方能上市，上市之後仍須追蹤商品販售的情形，進而規劃商品的生命週期，是一段繁複而漫長的流程。 大家可以從鮮食櫃檔位插卡上，可以發現我們的商品只販售到4/30! 再講一次 只賣到4/30 再講一次 只賣到4/30 #吃一次少一次啊！ Ｑ2.為何從米線變細冷麵？ 全家料理王的競賽就像和評審們提案，競賽的內容包含正規商品開發流程裡的市場分析、商品開發測試和商品提案；若獲選商品化之優秀作品，則會參與開發團隊量化測試的討論。 完成一項新商品的開發和商品化不是一件簡單的事情，獲選商品化後，進入量產測試和調整的階段，依照量產可能會遇到的問題，比如選用食材的季節性、是否能大量供應，來進行商品的調整。 比賽結束後七月暑輔結束的晚上，我們煮了好多份Q彈的米線，調好兩種醬汁，也試吃過跟比賽作品接近。將成品放在全家提供的衛生餐具內，放冰箱冷藏，隔日一早我載著選手風塵僕僕的到新竹的全家食品研究所讓研發小組試吃。沒想到得到的回應是：味道差距很大，尤其是米線變成像米苔目中心粉粉的口感。這時我們才第一次聽到“澱粉老化”這個詞(雙語： #retrogradation) 謝謝許多餐飲高手被我一直提問： 餐旅群 金手教父 林頂立老師 高中家政學科中心 I-hsien Chiou 執秘 米線因為澱粉分子密度比麵線還高的關係，當在冷藏櫃裡放超過3天以上時，整個米線會緊緊的黏在一起，所以最後只好強忍不捨，與物理限制妥協，退而求其次，改用細麵取代。 超級感謝全家幫我們用心特製了這款細麵，粗細接近、風味清爽、Ｑ彈感也相仿，但因為酒來提味所以沒有放上原本預計的的全素標章。 一道料理要成為鮮食商品可不容易，原料需要在冷藏的狀態下維持口感及新鮮度，加上全家便利商店近年推廣潔淨標章，食品添加物的使用受到較多限制，因而調整成細麵的形式。雖然原始設計中的米線不同，是採用細冷麵，仍保留和一般涼麵中使用的油麵不同的清爽口感。 Ｑ3.成品還有再抽佣金嗎？（很多人很八卦內～） Ａ沒有唷！但我們獲得更多！！ 同學們獲得十萬元獎金、指導老師一萬獎金和一起去日本見學旅費，選手們從中得到寶貴的機會參與到更多過程，學習到更專業且細緻的商業知識。也認識了在跟教育不同的行業，看見大家努力奮鬥的樣子，真的很感動，也很佩服！ 三個男孩升上高三也摸索出自己大學升學的方向， 其中一人也因為有下鄉體驗，迸發出不同的思維想法 成為特殊選才的亮點，考上國立大學建築系。 真心感謝 大享食育協會. 感謝 全家FamilyMart 自從4/17上市以來這一週在我的社群上，真的很多家人、同事、好朋友、以前畢業的學生、現在在校的學生都買來嚐嚐， 並Tag我們。 甚至還有校友組織線上試吃團，一起直播試吃。 從基隆到屏東、澎湖到金門都有回傳，看著看著真的很感動。 希望這碗有故事的麵，能多多看到他！ 上面有我們臉的封膜印了八萬八千份， 每天配送到全台4200多家，目前暫定販售到4/30 賣得好的話，才會五月繼續看到他在架上！ 懇請大家支持，有看到就買回家嚐嚐！ #自主學習玩很大 #全家料理王 #SDG2 #消除飢餓 #ZeroHunger #你的soulmate #壽mate 親愛的親朋好友們幫我去離你最近的全家冷藏鮮食櫃看看 有沒有這道壽山高中和全家聯名推出的細冷麵～～～～ 有人說頗辣，有人說不辣，請您買回去幫我們嚐一嚐！
In April, we had the privilege of reaching out to some incredible individuals through our Food Drive initiative. Here are the stories of our beneficiaries: 1. Mrs. Aduke Adegoke: A resilient soap seller who strives to feed her children and family by the roadside. 2. Bose Olagbaye: A POS operator whose husband faces financial challenges as they strive to feed their three children. 3. Mrs. Ojo Janet: An elderly woman who hawks pure water and eggs to make a living. 4. Mrs. Raheedat Anini: A dedicated mother hawking pure water to feed her three children. 5. Mrs. Adeyemo: A widow selling fruits to take care of her undergraduate children. 6. Mrs. Blessing Obaji: A pregnant crayfish seller making less than N2,000 profit in the evenings by the roadside. 7. Mr. Lanre Wasiu: A roadside slipper seller earning about N15,000 monthly to feed his family. Their stories highlight the harsh realities faced by many families in our community. Advocacy Matters! 🔊🔊 During the recently held 7th Meeting of the Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development, Barbados was represented by members of the Sustainable Development Goals Unit in PMO. At this forum, we saw productive discussions around SDG 1 - No Poverty, SDG 2 -Zero Hunger, SDG 13- Climate Action, SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 17 - Partnership. Progress on these goals will be reviewed at the upcoming high-level political forum in July this year! Barbados also presented on the advancement of the priorities of Caribbean small island developing states towards achieving the 2030 Agenda. During our intervention we advocated for increased access to resources to finance the SDGs, the creation of a multidimensional vulnerability index (MVI) which better encapsulates vulnerabilities and is able to respond quickly to catastrophic events, and reform of the international financial architecture. Multilateralism brings countries together through dialogue, inclusion, and shared goals. It's all about cooperation and respect for international norms. Why does this matter? Bruce Campbell, Chair of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development perfectly highlights the power of multilateralism: 🌐 "Donor Platform members have a common denominator in terms of values, views and objectives. This makes it possible to work productively... and ensure conversations are regular and conceptually continuous." The Donor Platform's recent 20-year review paper acknowledges the challenges: 🌐 "Many of the multilateral spaces have become infused with politics... requiring a sharpened focus on how donors work together to move beyond coordination." Despite these challenges, the need for collaboration is stronger than ever. Culture, especially music, has the power to unite people from all over the world, and iconic masterpieces from Vienna like Johann Strauss’ “Blue Danube Waltz” have become a shared human piece of culture. #UNIDO’s cooperation with in and with the countries from Asia and the Pacific focuses on clean energy and decarbonization, fighting poverty, sustainable supply chains, and ending hunger – in the region and beyond. Besides our many ongoing projects, we have a number of new initiatives that we work on together, from UNIDO's "Bridge for Cities" to advance sustainable urbanization to our recently launched Global Alliance for Responsible and Green Minerals to make the global energy transition properly green, fair and sustainable or the Centres of Excellences with China in Ethiopia, that will show what is possible with the newest technologies and innovative techniques in agriculture, together with renewable energy and digitalization. Nearly 1 in 10 people go to bed hungry every night, and the impact of ongoing conflicts could trigger the world’s largest hunger crisis. According to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), up to 309 million people are facing acute levels of food insecurity in 2024.
